I hate it when the $8 an hour employee working the.door act like they are doing me a favor by letting me in. I am a middle aged male who was going to spend some money there for my sons 24 th birthday but opted to go the the.Vintage room where they have a little class.

This place has positives and negatives. The good things are definitely the food and drinks. The food is fantastic, delicious, and unique. I also really enjoy their drink menu. There are some very special cocktails that are very delicious. I love the outdoor rooftop patio. It's a great place to relax and hang out on a warm summer night. There are so many lounge areas out there, plus the pool. It's a very unique place in Morgantown, WV.

Now for the bad. Hands down it's the guys who work at the door. They act like they're working at some swanky club in New York and oftentimes treat you like you're beneath them, especially if they feel you don't fit "the look" of the establishment.

The walk up the stairs could be a pain, but personally I think it fits with the vibe of a rock club. It makes you feel like you're going backstage to hang out with the band. The rest of the staff treat you like a VIP and are so hospitable.

Overall, The Rocktop is definitely a place to check out in Morgantown. There are a lot of bars and clubs in town, but this one is unique.

I've been here several times. I like this place, but a couple things probably prevent people from coming back or giving it good reviews. One is that you have to walk up a ridiculous staircase to get there. Which is fine, but I can see a lot of women in heels being mad about this. Also, the security staff in the front are jerks. There's a group of security at the front, and they look at you like you're interrupting their conversation when you walk up to get in. They give off this vibe like you should be grateful they're letting you into this place. This is Morgantown, fellas. You're not security at the highest-end club in NYC, and there aren't a bunch of celebs inside. Take it down a notch.
THAT BEING SAID, I like this joint. The open air on a nice summer night is awesome. Also, I like the mix of people that come here. It's not one of the places that has mostly college kids, or mostly older people. It's a place where you see all different ages and kinds of people. Plenty of room. Staff other than the above-mentioned is pretty friendly. Nice place to hang out.
