Other than being hard to find (the map on our iPhones had it at the other end of the alley), this place rocks! Â
We're avid craft beer fans and always search out great beer bars anytime we travel. Â When I researched Morgantown, Jay's was the clear winner and I can see why. Â
We arrived in Morgantown between 7-8 on a Friday evening in late June. Â We were concerned it would be packed given the time/day. Â No worries, there were plenty of bar seats (and tables and couches) available. Â
The (female) bartender absolutely nailed it. Â There's nothing worse than going to a *beer bar* and being served by someone who doesn't know beer. Â That was NOT the case here! Â She noticed my Russian River tee shirt and immediately recommend the Brux (collaboration between RR and Sierra Nevada). Â It's not our typical style of beer (we're hopheads), but we enjoyed it and I was thrilled she noticed my shirt ;)
There are all kinds of beer mags (Beer Advocate, Draft, etc) along the bar and a pretty decent selection of craft beers for WV!
Anytime we're anywhere near Morgantown, we'll be stopping by Jay's...
