If i could give it 4.5 I would. Â This place is a good find in Morgantown, and I wish there were more like it. Â We have gone twice now and both times was enjoyable. Â Good food, we had the mussels both times and they were tasty. Â The pizza is good. Â not great, but good pizza and the prices are totally reasonable. Â I had a fantastic dirty martini and it came with three huge olives, so I was a happy camper. Â The only reason it didn't get 5 stars is that it doesn't have much of an atmosphere. Â We sit at the bar so it feels a little less open, but it could use a little warmth.
Review Source:By far the best Morgantown has to offer. Service was top notch and the wine selection is off the hook. Over 200 wines to choose from as well as a menu that changes every three months. I eat here often and I am always impressed with the quality of food served. I enjoy a nice steak as well as sea bass and sometimes a brick oven pizza. Great atmosphere great servers. The managers are not the most personable and typically hurt the place more than they help but the kitchen and service staff more than make up for the managements short comings.
Review Source:I came in during the afternoon on a Saturday; I was in town for a conference.
Pluses: the place is big, with lots of space, great for groups. (I know it gets full later in the day, but at 5pm it was close to empty.) The wine list was just fine, and the inside was much more upscale-looking than the outside, which was a pleasant surprise. The waitstaff was super helpful and friendly, especially the bartenders--when someone asked for a drink they didn't know, for instance, they were cheerful and glad to learn. I always like that! Basically, the service was good.
Minuses: The cheese plate was, well, cheesy--not very high quality cheese, Ritz-style crackers. Given the wine, I'd hoped it'd be nicer. I also was a little bit turned off by being able to look right into the kitchen and see that it wasn't kept perfectly neat & clean. Don't get me wrong, I like open plan kitchens and I know that cooking isn't a task that can happen in, like, a hermetically sealed chamber, but I feel like if a restaurant commits to an open kitchen they know that they've got to be extra aware of the fact that diners will be looking into it.
Overall, I would definitely come back here, but I might ask to sit away from the kitchen and I'd probably try the pizza instead of the cheese plate. ;)
