Came here today because a friend works here. Â needless to say, she provided great service ;) though I hear some of the other waitresses are not as nice.
Happy hour gives you 1.75 on bud, miller, etc. Â Pretty good price, in my opinion. Â also got a vegetable fajita, which was unexpectedly delicious. Â Lots of TVs here; each booth has its own little TV. not sure if they're actually used. Â
I'll be back, and not just for my friend.
My wife and I love this bar. Â It just has a good feel to it. Â
The food is good bar fare, but much cheaper than you'll find down the road at Olde Peninsula. Â I really like the assortment of burgers that you can get as veggie burgers.
On our last visit we saw that they have made a serious commitment to good Michigan beer. Â On a side note, you will not find a better collection of great local beer than what you will find in Michigan right now.
They had new taps for Saugatuck Brewing Company, a couple of Dark Horse Brews, I think there was a Schmoz tap. Â Honestly it was too much to try in one setting, but wow was it nice to see.
My favorite bar in Kalamazoo. This place is great because of the crowd. Most of the people that hang out here are easy to get along with. You won't run into the typical "Firehouse Crowd" of popped collars and douchebags. The food is great and they just added ten more beers on tap (30 total I think). The patio is perfect for warm days and they even have an outside tiki bar. Â You never have to wait long for a pool table or a beer. Â Add that to $5.50 pitchers and 35 cent wings during Detroit games and you can't lose. The wait staff is as great as the group of regulars that frequent this place. It's the closest thing to Cheers that Kalamazoo has.
Review Source:I thought this was a kick a** place that I definitely would have hung out in college....in fact, it's exactly the same type of bar that I worked at in college plus some pool tables.
Besides the smoke, (I just can't get used to the way I smell when I leave) the beer was a great price, the nachos were tasty and the soup..oh my, the soup! It was the "Sydney soup" with shrimp & crab creaminess. I will probably dream about it.
Can't wait to stop in again on another try to KZoo!
I love the $2.50 super tall boys of Bud Heavies. Â And the 35 cent wings that only come in orders of 10 and aren't that great but aren't all that bad either. Â The bartenders and wait staff are super friendly if not always crazy aware of what the specials might or might not be or if you were only kidding when you ordered (long story). Â
Kind of seems like it's striding the line between townie bar and university bar so if you're more one than the other you should still be alright coming here.
Sad... I'll give it an exta star for CHEAP BEER. Â ALSO this place is now know as BOOMERANGS.
So you people don't know what you got up there in KZOO. Â You've got some bartenders that give you a free coca cola, $2.50 tall boys and some darn cheap drinkin' all around. Â With a stage that can actually FIT my band so pipe down and live it up you got a great place to hang. Â My experience here was quite pleasant playing for the local crowd and gettin' people shakin' so I can't complain... I'd come back;)
