This is your typical pub. It's got character. That's the only thing I can really say about it. Everyone sits by the bar... and so far the bartenders have been awesome. (I've had two different bartenders so far and they were both nice and personable.)
They're not slow to refill the drinks. I always see locals sitting by the bar...
They got about 5 or 6 beers on tap and decent selection of other drinks.
They usually have some daily special menu.
What do I love about this place?
I love my burgers. Sometimes you want the 12 oz burger on a kaiser roll-you won't be happy with the thin gourmet burgers you frequently see in this area. This is the only pub that serves real, hearty and filling bar food. (That I know of ... if you know of any, please feel free to message me! I'm always looking for a good place) I've only had the burgers. I've recently tried the steak with mushrooms and onions and was pleasantly surprised.
Another reason why this place is good is the price.
The amount of food and drinks you can get for the price you can't beat anywhere-especially around here.
I've had similar pubs/bars near college campuses and other areas but again, it's harder to find in this area.
Honestly, I can't come too often...
Once I sit down, I usually finish my burger, fries, slaw, and pickle.... and I'm in food-coma for the next 12 hours. Oh... especially if you add beer to this.
But when the weather gets cold and i'm craving a good solid burger and cold draft... this would be my pick.
Oh and I've only been here in the early evenings so I'm not familiar with the evening crowd so don't take my word for it....
I give the restaurant two stars because I wouldn't try it again. A lot of good reviews for this place but I'm going to go against the crowd here. I really wanted to love it, had high hopes, but upon entering I knew it wasn't going to be what I had imagined. It's beyond rustic and original, it's in need of some major capital improvements. The bathrooms are old and feel dirty. There's an old refrigerator sitting in the corner of one room, an ice machine in another corner under a tv, and an awkward layout of tv's. There's really no good spot to sit to watch the tv's, and while it's clearly loved by locals, the locals seem to be a bit loud making it hard to make outsiders feel welcome and comfortable.
As for the food, my burger had a nice char on it, look appetizing, but before even finishing my first bite, hamburger juice was pouring out of the bottom and soaking the fries and cole slaw. The fries were well done and crispy which i like, but they're just frozen crinkle fries that you probably could get at costco. I really liked the cole slaw, I don't know if it's homemade but that was good.
All in all we could use a good pub / sports bar in the area that's not posh, but this doesn't fit the bill. There's so much potential around here that I think it could be a home run.
