Warning, if you have eaten korean bbq on the west coast, this is not the place for you. If you are, like myself, bound geographically to the northeast, this is a good contender. For less money than you would in 34th herald square, you can get a nice assortment of marinated meats cooked perfectly by your waitress.
Wine marinated pork belly is delicious, especially with the bean paste sauce they serve with it and a nice crunch lettuce leaf. Could I really taste the wine? Not really, but I'd like to think that it added to the soft texture of the pork belly. Bulgolgi was yawn inducing, slightly dry and not flavorful. I did really like the ban chan... they had a couple of unique ones that I haven't had elsewhere, and made very well. Their kimchi was delicious.
Service was great, restaurant was your standard family owned Korean restaurant.
Come if you are in the area and would like a down to earth meal at a reasonable (not cheap) price.
They are know for their sam gyup sal. Â Their BBQ meats are slightly cheaper than other places. Â The best part is they give a free personal soup (kimchi jjigae or duengjang jjigae) per serving of meat you order. Its a smaller restaurant, not fancy at all but I prefer to go here because the workers there are so nice and accommodating. Â They even take time to chat with you! :). I always feel at home there. Great place!
