The Rusty Nail. Â I've been there quite a few times in my life, and that is really saying something. Â If I don't like the food or the service, then I don't like the place. Â Luckily, Rusty's is a great place for your typical pub food. Â Granted, the place is one for those who are looking for a few beers with friends and fun times, but don't let that be a turn off for those looking for a good burger or a great order of wings.
Now I must admit, the main reason that I do go to Rusty's is for the wings and their burgers, and let me tell you that their burgers are one of the best in the area. Â I usually go for the bacon cheddar burger with mushrooms and jalapenos with tomato, lettuce and mayo, and it is to die for! Â And also their wings make you want to eat more. Â And more. Â And more. Â They are very delicious. Â Their nachos are very good as well. Â Rusty's also has a nice selection of beer to choose from, so you'll never go thirsty.
One of the bigger gripes that I have with the place is that it can be sometimes crowded and noisy. Â Like I said before it's more of a hangout joint. Â If you can get over the loudness and the crowd, then you must try the place. Â Also, the service can be either good or bad, depending on who you get and how busy it is. Â Sometimes we get our regular waitress and she is amazing, but other times we will get someone that forgets we even exist.
Still, with some of the cons there are far more pros that makes this one of the better pub spots in Clifton Park. Â Give it a go and don't miss out!
So after reading all the reviews on here about the rusty nails wings I really wanted to try them out myself, but I was not in the mood for wings at all. I was hoping that my mind would change when I arrived there and saw some, but it didn't. As we were walking in I glanced at their specials board and they had a bbq steak and cheddar sandwich listed on there, I thought WOW that sounds really good. So when we walked in, you basically seat yourself, they have a bunch of high top tables in the bar area and regular tables in what you can call their dinning room. We opted to sit in the bar area, I order a stella beer and my friend ordered a corona. For dinner I ordered their special sandwich as I stated above and it came with french fries. My buddy order one of their specialty burgers I forget the name of it but it had bacon, bbq sauce, Â mozzarella cheese and a onion ring on it and that also came with french fries. It took a while for the food to come out, longer than normal I thought and there wasn't alot of people there but I didn't care, I ended up ordering another beer. I was looking at the wings that people ordered and they looked really good I wish I ordered some, next time I will. The food came out and the sandwich was awesome, I would definitely order it again. It was shredded steak with bbq sauce (not drench in sauce either the perfect amount) topped with deep fried onions straws on a perfectly size toasted hogie roll. My buddy seemed to enjoy his burger as well. I would like to check this place out during football season, they have great beer specials and great pub food.
Review Source:I really don't have a lot to say about the place, good or bad. I've been here a few times and it's always been a positive experience. The food is good, the restaurant itself is nice, and the prices are fair. I wouldn't call it a 5-star experience as many of my friends would, but it's a great place to go for drinks and a bite to eat. Josh A.'s review is pretty accurate: the atmosphere is nice and it's that aspect that pulls more weight than the quality of the food. It's worth checking the place out, though.
Review Source:The Nail only has two reviews? You wouldn't  be able to tell from the parking lot! Standard suburban popular pub food/bar spot.
Food- 3 stars.
Consistently mediocre bar food. Somethings are pretty good, I would stick with basic items like sandwiches etc.
Good wings,bu they can be inconsistent as others have noted.
Atmosphere- 4 Stars.
A nice place to meet friends at the bar. Generally a nice crowd.
Drinks- 3 Stars.
Pretty standard, nothing awesome or special.
Value- 4 Stars.
Decent deals.
Service- 3 Stars.
Nothing sticks out in my mind.
When I think of a place called the Rusty Nail I think of a dirty biker bar. This couldn't be farther from the truth. The Decor was completely updated and classy and full of flat screen tvs. It was nice but I would have enjoyed it more if it was a dive bar. I have heard people rave of their wings but i was let down. I like crispy wings but these were cooked beyond recognition and tiny. There was so little meat on the bones and what was there was completely dried out and tough. Lots of appetizers and sandwiches. Standard bar fare. Nothing that really stands out to make you want to come back.
Review Source:I love this place. Â My family frequents the Rusty Nail which is a well run Bar/Restaurant with something to offer everyone.
If you are looking to sit at the bar, have a few drinks, and check out a game, the many flat screens are available to make your experience a good one.
If you wanna bring the fam for dinner, they have a separate room off of the main bar area where you can enjoy dinner, some drinks, and maybe a little QuickDraw.
The bartenders are responsible and take care to not allow someone to drink themselves into a coma.
They have all of the NFL games on Sunday's and enough flat screens to enjoy the games and QuickDraw.
This is the best bar in the Clifton Park area in my opinion for those who want to have a good time and not worry dealing with the delinquents (that you might find at a place like Tailgators).
