This a fun place but be prepared to see a wide range of ages. I was surprised to see so many older people out. I am glad older people (I'm talking about my grandparents age) are wanting to have fun, but please don't hit on me! Stick to people your own age. Other than this I had a great time with the girls.
Review Source:Very uppity restaurant/bar but I expected that. Â Ordered a few of the high priced drinks and a steak. Â The steak was cooked to perfection and tasted awesome. Â One of the better ones I have had at a restaurant. Â Surprising since it isn't a steak house. Â Had the crab cake balls. Â They were very good as well. Â As with most places at the Shops of Legacy, parking sucks so if you can use a valet. Â They are free but work off tips.
Review Source:The staff was rude and the music wasn't decent ( and decent was all it was) until after 9 pm. I was there for an event so the people were nice. I am unsure of the crowd on other days but a friend that stayed said that it was fun. I will have to say again the staff was rude. Bartender ignored me several times until he saw I was with a guy.. not sure what that was about. The door lady was short and unwelcoming.. Â I will repost the next time I go as an update.
Review Source:If you ever see that Emerald City is performing here, you should go, they know how to liven up the crowd. Â This place reminded me of cougar town, and the drinks are watered down for it being $9-$12 a drink. Â It's a cool place to hang out with friends, and they play top 40's during breaks.
Review Source:05/16/13 Was a bit disappointed in the service as we sat at our table for at least 10 minutes before our waitress came out. Once she figured out we were there in her section it was excellent. The ceviche was fabulous. We also had the Lobster Enchiladas and the Salmon. Both very delish! Â Happy hour was until 6:30 so we had a Pinot Grigio, and a Sauvignon Blanc. Both were nice. They do have live music later but we did not stay for that.
Review Source:I was one of the hosts for a networking group based in the Plano/Frisco area that hosts monthly mixers at area restaurants/bars. Â On an after-work Thursday we had about 50 people show up at Sambuca 360.
Sambuca 360 normally plays Pop & and some Hip Hop before the band starts.  However that night Country music and Hard Rock metal was being played in the restaurant.  I thought it to be very strange as I never experienced  that before.  It dawned to me that Sambuca was trying to discourage the largely African American professional customers to not stay long by playing music that was just not inviting and entertaining.
It's pretty unfortunate in this day and age that you have establishments like Sambuca 360 using subtle and underhanded tactics to discourage their "non-regular" customers from staying.
Mind you our crowd got there between 5 and 9pm, usually when the restaurant/bar is the slowest.
All in all Sambuca 360 will not be seeing me anymore.  If you want to survive in Plano/Frisco you better be ready to welcome  ALL PEOPLE.  Just look at the demise of Social 121.
Okay, I know this place gets a lot of flack for being straight up cougar town, but I went here this past Saturday and thought it was great! Â Lots of cougars of course, but honestly, a really good mix of people of all ages, just looking to have a good time.
We went for a birthday celebration so we were in this little "VIP" area. Â In all honesty, the area was sort of cramped looking, but it actually ended up being fine. Â The food was REALLLLY good! Â (The meat on skewers was to die, as was the Margarita pizza!) Â Service was fantastic!!!!!! Â I really like the cocktails on their menu.. I recommend the skinny strawberry mojito!
The band playing, Graceland Ninjas, was great! Â Good entertainment and seemed to really pump up the crowd. Â I think Sambuca is a great place to go hang with friends. Â The people watching is pretty fun as well!
The ONLY con is the parking...or lack thereof! Â Pretty typical of Shops at Legacy though!
I went here after work for a networking event with a professional organization. Â First off, it is a "private club" so you have to give your license to the hostess at the front to scan. Â I understand the need for this I guess, and at least you know there are no youngins' running around but it is a little weird still. Â They have a pretty good happy hour with $3 off liquor and wines and the have an extensive cocktail menu. I had "the hook up" with cruzan rums and pomegranate juice. Â So good. I also had a cup of the shrimp and crab bisque. Â It was good but there was not a whole bite of seafood in the bowl. Â I added the grilled garlic bread cheese bread on the side and it was two of the smallest pieces of bread I have ever seen. Â They could've just included that with the cup in my opinion. Â The regular dinner prices are high in my opinion as well as the non-happy hr drink prices. Â I would like to come back for dinner and dancing but I don't know if it is worth it, probably just stick to happy hour.
Review Source:I totally love the live bands here. If you are looking for a good night out with friends. You will love the set up. A big dance floor. Bar area and sexy seating! The band plays behind the bar up high so you can see them really good!!!! Food and drinks here are good. Make sure you call for reservations. There is always a line out front! Cause yes, it rocks here! The bouncer at the door was extremely nice!
Review Source:Been going here for an organized networking happy hour since it was Martini Park, so it's about time for a review! Drinks are made well, excellent appetizer menu. Service is hit or miss. I've had both top-notch wait staff and horrible bartenders serve me here. Emerald City currently (as of 02-8-13) plays here on Thursdays sometimes, maybe even every week. And they are an awesome band to see.
Review Source:Pretty fun place! Â We went on a Saturday night. Â They charged a $5 cover and drinks were pretty pricey. ($11 for a small glass of so-so champagne). Â It is a much older crowd and older music, but a fun atmosphere. Â Might go back in 20 years if it is still open. Â Nice to know there are places for older people to hang :)
Review Source:We only spent a few minutes here after dinner in the Legacy Town Center, well probably more like 30 minutes max. Â They were in the process of changing over the venue into more of a dance club, as a live band was taking the stage behind one of the bar areas. Â Needless to say it got pretty loud fast and while the band playing was pretty good, it was not our scene this evening. Â
I am pretty sure that they have food as well as drinks, but I don't know how extensive their menu is. Â I would certainly try to come back and see what else they have to offer on another night.
Five Stars for Happy Hour! Â I have never been for a meal but I thoroughly the Happy Hour here! Â 1/2 price apps and drinks.. Â whoop!
You can get all items under the "starter" header for 1/2 price  - awesome!  The Shrimp and Crab Dip and the Acapulco Shrimp are delicious!  And where else can you get Grey Goose at a HH price? Â
The service can be hit or miss, but I'll take my chances for the great HH deals!
Cool Decor. Â Lots of TV's.
Like many others have said. Â Lots of cougars. Â Lots of Boobs. Â
Food was meh and super expensive. Â The shrimp and crab bisque way super duper salty. Â The shrimp and crab dip was hot, and hot like unsafe, melt the roof of your mouth style.
They do fine at what they are trying to do (as far as cocktails and dancing go) I suppose. Â It's just not my scene, and I doubt I will return.
I'll say this: I am a little biased to this place because of reasons I'd like to keep to myself. I frequented this place almost every week for about a year. The weekends are really exciting here. The queue starts as early as 9 and keeps building as even as people come in at 1. Whew!
Thursdays are Ladies nights, Fridays & Saturdays are equally good. Like most people mentioned in their reviews, it is definitely a Cougars Bar, but I'd say most of 'em are the classy ones ;-). Ofcourse you do get that ocassional B@#$% around there who thought I am a Terrorist when she was drunk...LMFAO!
Let  me begin with the Bouncers; they are definitely the coolest bunch of bouncers you'll meet. They don't bother you but doesn't mean they take any s@#$ from anyone. Very thorough & professional.
The Bar Tenders are absolutely fantastic; they work their butts off; The fact is the average wait time is just about 4-5 minutes on some of the busiest days in the calendar year. I so wish I could take their names but I would rather not!!!
Music: Sambuca gets bands pretty much every day of the week; Thursdays thru to Saturdays are exciting though; they clear the tables on these days by about 10 and convert that into a dance floor. Good bands even on the weekdays.
Ambience: I love the ambience; they have 2 fully stocked bars, one on the corner which leads to a patio and the other one that runs right thru, below the dias. Summers don't seem too bad if you're inside. In winters, they put up these heat poles which more than make up...
Food: I took home the Veggie Pizza and although there was not too much in it, it was made pretty well. I am a veggie and so can't comment too much on the other items :-(
Restrooms: Definitely cleaner than most places I have frequented. Thumbs up!
I do miss going there since I moved first to the West Coast early this year and now to the East Coast.
Bottomline: Great place to hang out, whether its Happy Hour, weekdays or the weekends.
SAMBUCA: You Guys Rock!!!!!!!!!
Not really my scene.. older crowd.. cheesy setup of how they had the band behind the bar.. which really was uncomfortable to watch.. and the only place there was more cheese was on the recommended and ghastly pizza, which was dripping with grease.
Bar staff were friendly and cool.. and so was the occasional cougar.
If you be looking for hard liquor then this is a place for that, and they do the whole check ID, and make you sign a receipt upon entry saying you are now a private member. Oh lord!
Departing thought is that for these prices, and the setup you shouldn't be drinking out of plastic.. perhaps that's a precaution for when you feel the urge to throw your glasses at the band.. and lest be honest.. you will have that urge.
Let's face it Sambuca 360 is trying hard.. really hard... like.. really really really fucking hard to be something! Â hmmmm.. but just what that something is? Kinda just falls short of anything of any substance. Sambuca is best left to be served in a small Mediterranean hole in the wall, with a cozy environment and warm friends...
We just stopped in for a drink and to soak up the atmosphere after a night of bar hopping. Â This place is ok. I liked Sambuca when it used to be in Addison and had live jazz, blues and swing music. Now it's just like every other loud bar playing the same kind of top 40s.
We took seats at the bar and it was so dirty the menu stuck to it. The bartenders were friendly though. I had the cinnamon ice-cream and it was yummy.
Since most of their sales come from alcohol you have to become a member at the door (I think it's a Plano city ordinance of some kind), so don't just walk in to the bar, you'll get yelled at.
It's a fun place to people watch and we might go back, I don't know. I miss the old Sambuca.
My date took me to The Legacy as I've never been here and he wanted to help me relax and de-stress after my week of work. Since it was Sunday it was all day happy hour and half priced appetizers. I can't really say much about the night life or entrees, but I can say a little something about the drinks and two appetizers we had.
[Drinks]
+ Cucumber Pineapple Crush: We both saw this drink "advertisement" on the table and asked our server what was entailed with it/how good it truly was. She said it had fresh cucumber slices in it with pineapple chunks with infused Skyy vodka and it was extremely tasty, especially for the summer. We were both already sold on the picture but after hearing a more detailed description we knew we had to order it. I can easily say this was by far one of the best drinks I've had in a while. I think I would have ordered another if I wasn't wanting to try the other drinks on the menu.
+ Doggy Style: It's a twist on a classic Greyhound, which to make it simple it tastes like grapefruit juice. So this version is that but with some soda in it. It gave it a slight carbonation, but  it's nothing really special. I like grapefruit but I didn't really feel/see the difference.
+ New Castle: The boy got this. Now, I'm a beer girl, I won't deny this but I just could not like this at all. When he ordered this our server said she had to get it from the back (probably because hardly anyone drinks this, and I can see why). It had this sweeter, more bitter taste to it. He thoroughly enjoyed this beer and he gave me a brief history of why he likes this beer so much. As much as I tried to like it, I couldn't. If you're English or are within the Canada area, this beer may be of your choice.
[Appetizers]
+ Seared Tuna: Sushi with Asian plum sauce, and when I say sushi it's really just sashimi pieces encrusted with sesame like seeds. It came with these super thin potato like pieces and plum sauce. For some reason this dish took forever to be served to us and with the long wait I was kind of hoping for more than 6 small, warm pieces of fish. Isn't sashimi supposed to be cold when served?? At least it normally is when I go out to sushi restaurants. This fish couldn't have been more warm or room temperature when it finally arrived at our table. Normally $15 is now at $7.50..? It's not really worth it if you ask me. You might as well use that money to buy an actual order of sushi elsewhere or for a different appetizer for that matter.
+ Prosciutto Mac & Cheese: Call it the post-undergrad college kid that's still in me or my yearning to constantly want mac n' cheese but I just had to get this and see if it was good or not. Let me tell you, it hit the spot. With prosciutto pieces and a really nice, creamy cheese texture I was a happy camper. I could probably eat a whole serving of this on my own if I wasn't sharing with the boy.
If and when I come back to this place I'll strictly be coming for happy hour and seeing what other appetizers and drinks I can get myself into.
I've never been to Sambuca 360, but I felt it pertinant to write a review. Why bother you ask?
I used to valet  at the Italian restaurant across the street years back while Sambuca 360 was being built and the female owner (it's a brother and sister team) is one of the biggest f'ing c-words I've ever met in my life and went out of her way to try to be one. She's one of those, "My crap doesn't stink, I'm more important than you cause I'm the owner, it's my way or the highway because I ALWAYS get my way, etc etc etc" kind of people.
She even called the valet office I used to work at and lied just to get me in trouble. Why? She got upset I took back the cones she took from my stand (without asking by the way) and she couldn't park in front of her restaurant which I had nothing to do with me because security had parked their car there to give someone a jump which we both told her and had to park around the back. Oh boo f'ing hoo, you had to walk 15 seconds instead of 5.
I will NEVER go here and I'd rather die of starvation.
Haven't tried the food, only come here for the nightlife.
This place a departure from the other Sambucas (Uptown and Addison). Not a big fan of bands, but they'll do I guess. Only reason I am giving them 3 stars. They should think about bringing in a DJ every once in a while. The crowd is good here. No worries if you go by yourself as everyone is friendly and people are open to talking to strangers and letting them hangout for a few. Some will even buy a round or two.
This place is good for two reasons:
1) People watching- the cougars here are funny, they know they aren't young and they don't care, they are here to have a fling and and I'm pretty sure you can look like napoleon dynamite and be successful. You can smell the desperation of the guys from a mile away. They'll show up with a few friends (or even by themselves- womp womp) and stand by the bar awkwardly, oogling over girls.
2) The ceviche is pretty good, the pizza is not bad.
This place sucks for many reasons:
1) Cover after 9p. I don't understand why this place charges $10 cover. The bands are always awful, and I'm not a live music snob. The people on the "dance floor" and around the bar are always holding their breath for the bands to go on break so some house music can take over the airwaves. I'm serious, the atmosphere is a dozen times better/more fun when the band goes on break.
2) The bands suck. I felt this deserved it's own line although I detailed it above.
3) D-bag guys. The girls have a problem with them here, the guys have a problem with them here. If a guy doesn't have a girl already dancing on him by 10:30, the guy is looking for a fight. Girls will flee the scene because of many of these dudes. They need to get a grip and they need to get a life. Perhaps mail order brides would fit their style a little better.
4) Drink prices are just ridiculous. When the weekend rolls around, I'm ready to party and ready to spend some change. I used to think uptown was expensive until we met Sambuca (and Sambuca 360). $9 for a well shot, $4.50 for a beer, avg $9 for a mixed drink. If the girls were gorgeous, the band was great, and the company was better, I wouldn't have a problem with this. The problem is, none of these things are true here.
We go to Sambuca for happy hour. It is the best happy hour in the Shops of Legacy. All drinks are half price (making mixed drinks about $4-5, cheap for Bishop Street) and the appetizers and pizzas are half price too.
The Cosmo Pizza is great. I also like the Seared Tuna appetizer.
Happy hour ends at 6:30 but that leaves plenty of time to get some good drinks and clear out before the Cougars show up at 8 or so.
The servers are generally very nice and attentive.
PROS: only reason this place gets a couple stars is for its happy hour, which has cheap beer and appetizers (half off)
CONS: Cougarville at night. You will have 50 ye old nastiest wanting you to buy them drinks. Â Cover charge- really? Even for the ladies. Not worth it, and the bands always suck.
Here is why I am a fan... I loved the layout of this place, the "VIBE"... and the first song the live band played was a Sublime song (which they rocked it). Now... I would love if this exact place would open up in the city I live in as I think it would be a great addition to the nightlife. That is truly the experience I took from Sambuca.
Overall... I felt like it was a 5 -1 men v women ratio. Now I was not looking for a guy by any means but I had to basically make sure I had a sour look on my face to keep the guys from coming to attempt to talk to me and there was no way I could dance as that would have been some sort of open invitation to sex. I am not sure if it is like that every night, but the 2 nights that I went, it was the same thing. The city has a lot of people come in and out for business, so I can only imagine that it must have been an off week.
The service was great. They were quick and very friendly.
The bands both night had the people dancing but it seemed like most females were with guys and then there were just other single guys looking for any single females. Maybe it was just an off week or something.. but it was a man-fest!
I didn't get to try the food so I cannot comment on the menu. I would def. dig if they opened a Sambuca in Roseville, CA (if anyone is listening!! LOL).
I finally made it to Cougar, err, Sambuca 360. Â My wife and I went here with some friends. Here's my 2 cents. Â
The food was pretty good. Â I had the beef and lamb gyros and my wife's fish tacos were tasty.
The drinks are pretty expensive but good. Â The waitress kept them coming all night long.
The band did a good job and the dance floor was packed.
This a great place to people watch. Â Plenty of Ed Hardy wanna be's and tons of cougars. Â Pretty amusing.
Is this my future?
I was totally expecting to see Hulk Hogan here.. Tan and wrinkly is the trend at Sambuca. Â It's pretty much, where the elderly go to get dates.
I am not elderly, but very intrigued... It ended up being a fun time.. you have to go there and know what you are getting in to... It reminded me A LOT of Blue Martini, in Florida... except with cheaper drinks.
They had a cover band, that was the lamest wedding band (The Craig Spence Project) I have ever seen, but after a few beers, even I did the electric slide. Â They have a live music every nite... It looks like "Age Against the Machine" is playing on Tuesday. Â Im not joking.
This location makes me miss the Addison location even more-so! Â Went here with 6 of my colleagues for happy hour & was not impressed at all! The service was slow and the food overpriced! Our waiter spent most of his time entertaining a table full of hot women next to us and although I couldn't blame him in a sense we still deserved better. Â Not sure I'll be returning.
One star for the decor, the other for the location.
Cougar 360
I got drunk in a bar in Frisco, TX. Now when I say I got drunk in a bar, I don't mean I was dancing on tables. . . . . . Â or got thrown out or anything. I got just drunk enough to have a great time at what most folks refer to as "Cougar 360".
There they were . . . . . . the over 40 and feeling foxy ladies. . . . . wearing the sluttiest top Ann Taylor carries, low rise jeans with be-dazzled butts, and slinky sandals because this month's issue of More magazine listed toe cleavage as a big turn-on for men.
I love them and here's why: they love to confess/profess/brag about themselves to me in the ladies room:
"Can you believe my daughter is 22 years old?!" (Ummm, yes)
Later on, and a couple of Coronas later, Â she's yelling that same statement to no one in particular over the live band's version of "Shook me all night long". The 24-year old with the barbed wire tattoo and Affliction shirt she's dancing with doesn't really care what she's saying as long as she doesn't mess up his hair.
I think this place serves food, but I've never eaten it. They should seriously consider putting popcorn on the menu though seeing as how you can always count on seeing a show at this joint.
So I've met friends here a couple times and we were all chatting it up so I have no say one way or another about its Cougesity. Â
But I agree with Courtney and Melissa that the check-in command central console is a bit overdone. Â The drinks were good and the more you get, the better the pours. Â Although hard to mess up Makers and water.
I must admit I'm a fan of the music. Anything 80/90's - hair bands, new wave, hip hop - they do it here. Â The dj and the bands know what the people want and how to make the Cougars dance.
I could care less if there are Cougars at a bar I'm going to or not. Â I take that back. Â I hope there are Cougars at a bar I'm going to. Â That means more entertainment for me. Â I love watching a smooth Coug on the prowl. Â What I don't like is dealing with bimbos at a banquet table with computers scanning my ID like I'm signing in to a superspecial convention where we're going to learn how to stick pink (fake) swarovski crystals to our blackberries and adjust our bumpits while making sure our fake nails are still on and in good shape. Â Because that's what I felt like I was signing up for when I entered Sambuca 360. Â I get that it's a "private club" and you have to be a "member" to drink alcohol. Â But please. Â Be a little more discreet about it. Â Don't do the damn banquet table thing in front. Â
Anyway, once we were passed that ordeal and seated, I was happy that it was "Throwback Tuesday" so martinis were only $3.60, but holy crap could the service be ANY slower? Â Oh, before you wait for me to say something witty, let me just give you the answer: no. Â The waitress was as slow as she could have possibly been if she had no legs, no arms, no face, wasn't alive, never existed, and we weren't even there. Â Okay maybe she was faster than that. Â But only a little. Â At one point, she dropped a glass and sort of daintily swept up SOME of the glass, leaving several shards on the floor for my friend to point out, which she then picked up and THREW into the trash can. Â Safe, huh?
The only reason I'm giving this place two stars is because the drinks were damn good. Â Really, really, REALLY good. Â How do you figure? Â Everything else about this place was absolutely terrible. Â I won't elaborate on the clientele.
Welcome to Cougartown! Where are you Courtney Cox? We stopped in here for a minute to say Happy Birthday to a friend, and thank god we only had to stay a few minutes.
First off, there was LONG line. I mean, I guess I can understand, there aren't too many Plano haunts for the upper 30's and 40's crowd to get their dance on, but this shiz was ridiculous. When we got in, we had to scan our ID's and sign a "waiver" receipt. Really? Is this necessary? Then we entered the cougar's den.
Live band was rocking out the hits of the 2000's and the coog's were eating it up. It was PACKED in here! I haven't seen this much Ed Hardy and Affliction in a long time.
I am sure this place could be fun if this is your scene, but it is NOT mine. I had to rush my BF out of there before he was swallowed whole by the newly divorced women who were looking for a 20 something guy to make them feel young again. Step off my man bitch! I'm out.
My office is in the Shops at Legacy, so I was very, very excited to see a Sambuca opening up in our area. Some of my coworkers and I took a client to lunch there last week. I was absolutely unimpressed. Perhaps a nightclub should not try to also be a lunch restaurant...
1. Cords all over the floor from the built-in door/ID area to the table that they added for some unknown reason...the cords were dangerous and I nearly fell on them.
2. Place smelled AWFUL - like a fishmonger after a rough day in the sun. Seriously.
3. Place is NOT set up to be a restaurant! None of the tables had ANYTHING on them - we had to ask for all the usual table things like salt, pepper, and sugar.
4. Food is overpriced. Over $150 for lunch for four people is outrageous. Maybe if we had cocktails, maybe if the food was any good...
5. Food tastes bad. I tried three or four different things (we had a couple of appetizers) and all were bad. Even the boring garlic cheese bread was, well, BORING. Really a shame. The normal Sambuca is so, so tasty. I just don't know what went wrong here.
The waiter was really wonderful though! I hope for his sake the food improves.
Haven't been for the nightlife - so no opinions there, but both the other reviewers said it's an improvement on Martini Park - definitely a good thing! I'll try this place again and see if this lunch was just an off day.
Martini Park re-invented with class.
I poked my nose into the newly opened Sambuca 360 at the Legacy this week. Â I was very pleased with the reworked configuration of the bar and dance area providing a more open feel, whilst keeping the winning formula of the over the bar stage concept, the centre piece space.
I loved Martini park for the variety of live music and I am very please that Sambuca 360 are continuing with this concept.  If you check out their website you can see the acts that are booked for the entire month   providing the opportunity to plan when and what you want to hear.
The concept of the place is dinner grill and live music club, Â the drinks are reasonably priced, and the food is fresh (although I only had an appetizer). Â There is a definite sense of classy mojo that will appeal to a wide age range.
I was disappointed there was a $10 cover particularly for opening week which could of been an opportunity to win favour with the locals. I was even more disappointed when querying the doorman about the price he scoffed "Cmon you're one of those lawyer, you can afford it" as if to imply based on the location that it was a fair price. Â Perhaps i was being over critical, but dude i only wanted one drink to check the place out to see if it was worthy of a future visit. (Imagined being described as a lawyer)
I will go back for sure and get well fed and most likely a little messed up in the process. The force is strong in this one.
Update:
...upon my return to Sambuca, I got in early enough to avoid the cover charge and then got the obligatory stamp, once they did start charging the cover. Â Bars prices are fantastic beer a little over $3. Â Bar service for the night was good in spite of the crowd.
So  have had to update my rating for this fine establishment
