Based on the food alone, I would have probably given this restaurant 3.5 stars but the service all around just left a bad taste. The location is prime, the decor is cute, the food is decent and so this place will always be busy (and the employees/owners know that).
Want a quick way to piss off a guest? Let them see you be short with their grandparent. There were two bartenders the night we went, a younger and an older blonde. To her credit, the older one was very pleasant with us. The younger one, wow, what a brat. My grandfather asked her a couple harmless questions and talk about SHORT in her response. I did all I could from snapping at her something really nasty but didn't want to make a scene. What happened to treating a customer with respect seeing you ARE in the hospitality business? The waiter was better, but forgot our bread, forgot my grandfather's wine, didn't really seem friendly at all.
Anyone who reads my reviews will know I am big on service. The food could be phenomenal somewhere, but if the service is bad: forget it. We all have choices about where we can spend. Don't give your money to people who don't appreciate it.
Visited with wife and kid. Veggies were of frozen nature, waitress said to ask for extra butter and garlic to make then taste okay. Shrimp over done, scalloped potatoes were terrible looking and not fresh. Bottom line is great view, terrible food and no fresh food to speak of. Pricing was as high as Bonefish but no freshness.
Review Source:The location is easy to find.
The view is beautiful.
The service was so very warm and friendly.
The prices can't be complained about.
The decour is homey...perhaps a bit too much so.
The food was outstanding. Â The fish very fresh...and all 6 dishes were cooked perfectly.
To sum it all up...go! Â Enjoy! Â We'll see you there.
The only thing I would change about this place would be refurbish the building to make it a bit more "fine dining" vs "touristy".
This is the second time we have eaten here and again we had a great time. The view this restaurant has of the bay is spectacular. It doesn't matter where you sit you will have a nice view. The restaurant's Christmas decorations along with it's regular theme make it interesting to look at. Now to the important part the food. Â I ordered this last trip the shrimp scampi and it was spectacular. The shrimp and the fettucini were cooked perfectly. My wife ordered their baked fish that had a ritz cracker crust (sorry don't recall the name of it) she loved the fish. The kids ate fettucini Alfredo and a cheese burger. They said they were delicious.
Review Source:Showed up on a Saturday night to a pretty full house, this wacky nautically themed joint was fun and friendly right off. The kids got the usual colors and puzzle pages... And Meagan our server was prompt and welcoming. The view of the bay was fantastic and the sunset completed the " your about to eat some seafood" theme. Â For appetizers, we tried the conch fritters and fried pickles....showed up pretty quickly considering how busy they were. Â Both dishes were good... Cooked well and god seasoning, that being said, I haved better, but worth the price. The conch fritters were a real surprise, I'm pretty sure they are made in-house. Entrees were generous and very tasty. The island 3-way which includes shrimp, oysters and scallops was fantastic! Crab cakes were good, and we tried them emperors style which had a keylime aoli that helped the dish. Desserts finished of a great meal... Try the home made keylime pie or the bananas foster cheese cake. 8 people, 2 apps, 8 full meals, 2 pictures of beer and 3 desserts totaled $170... Very reasonable for this kind of food/service and atmosphere
