I have never written a review for yelp before, but my experiences at Scartozzi's have been so great that I had to write.
CATERING: In late April, 2012, Scartozzi's catered a party at my house. It was a great bargain for the amount and quality of food they gave us. They delivered to our house and everything was fresh and warm. Â My guests could not stop talking about how great the food was. We ordered the caprese salad, melon and prosciutto, eggplant lasagna, pesto stuffed shells, lemon chicken, fettucine alfredo, and a few other dishes I can't remember. Absolutely everything was delicious. Several dishes were prepared gluten-free to accommodate my g-free guests, and you could never tell they were missing gluten. They were delicious!
DINING-IN: We ate in the restaurant about a week ago. We ordered an array of food, including the calamari. Â They offered to prepare the calamari any way we wished: fried, grilled, broiled, sauteed with garlic, etc. We opted to have it sauteed and it was delicious. Everything else we ordered was wonderful as well. There are two tables to sit at inside the restaurant, so I would recommend ordering out if you have a large crowd.
Scartozzi's is a real gem just on the other side of Route 12 (if coming from Long Beach). I highly recommend ordering from them. Â The people are incredibly kind and accommodating. Â GIVE THEM YOUR BUSINESS!!!
Love it when it is good and hate it when it is bad! Â I have had some great meals here and some horrible ones. Â Always have had luck with the chicken parm. Â Got the sausage and peppers once and it was charred on the bottom and they placed it in my to go anyway. Â They need some consistency and attention to detail...also not be afraid to trash burnt food and start over...I would rather have it late than inedible.
