I walked by on Karaoke night. I think the bar was open for another 2 hours. Walked in with 2 friends we all wanted to sing but the list was already full, no biggy it happens. Drinks were pretty expensive but we kind of expected that being in a casino plus if you are a bar patron you probably have a good radar for what's gonna cost you compared to a dive bar. The decor is nice kind of like a bordello feel to it. The place was pretty crowded. So if you don't like crowds this place won't be for you. There wasn't a cover when I walked in so that was a plus.

This place blows and I didn't even go in. The encounter at the door was rude enough. I was denied entry as a female wearing strappy sandals. They weren't Old Navy flip flops! I was dressed in a dressy outfit with my opinion of dressy sandals to go with it. Sorry they weren't closed toe. I mean... it was only 95 degrees out on June 1st, why wouldn't I want to wear sweaty shoes?! Very LAME and I think this dress requirement should be dropped. No one was wearing bandanas and chains. Then again... your loss on the business.

Ok I'm looking at this from the club aspect and not regarding food or drinks. But really???!!! The best thing about this place was walking out. I'm glad Friday nights are free because I would have been heated if I paid one cent for this place. The music sucks! There could be one somewhat decent song, but it turned into some crap later. Dancers?? You call that dancing??!!   A few sickly looking girls who have nothing to shake. I saw more girls with body and moves in the crowd. And people were throwing money at them!! I don't know if it was so they could buy a cheeseburger or they really thought they were good. Unfortunately, I think it's the latter.  Hang out with me for a bit I'll show you real dancing and other girls who can. As to this place, Never again!

Before starting to spew harsh criticism, i have to say, i had fun. Take a step back, look at my experience... yes, i had fun.

A 3-4 minute wait at the door, about $10 cover and i get in its about 12:15 AM. The placed is packed out. In the flashes of light i can see a Gothic sort of theme. Barely clothed go go dances, oh la la. Me Gusta -,-

A decent mix of pop and techno. ( i would prefer straight up house, electro but this will do). I'm that dude that looks like he is on extacy bud definitely isn't.

Whats wrong? Even though it was packed out the place had no flow of people. In other words, to walk from the front to back was near impossible. It is not due to the size but to the huge 'dance bar' right in the middle. Cut that dam thing in half and give the people some room to walk. As an experienced 'walking through packed clubs dude' i know what I'm talking about.

The carpet in the back would have been a nice touch if it wasn't soaked with beer.

AND the random 45+ year old people was not a good look. I mean you always get one or two but not this many.

Then, 1:50am, without warning. LIGHTS. I get it, we are in CT, but as a NYC dude I'm used to at LEAST 4:00am.  But here, 2:00, party is over. No where else to go.  Imagine you are right about to do the nasty but someone turns the lights on, splashes you with cold water and slaps your ass. A bit dramatic but that's how i felt.

I stayed at the MGM about a year ago for a whole week for a corporate event. I came here about three times throughout my stay. The last time I went, I had an unpleasant experience with a security guard. After a long day of working (16 hrs+), I decided to eat dinner here with my co-workers. It was after nine; therefore, the security guard asked for my Identification. It had just expired, but I had a DMV temp. license. The security did not let me in and kept my license. He told me he did not believe it was me and began to give me an attitude. He then asked me to sign three times to make sure it was me. I neglected to do so and told him to give me my ID back because I was tired and did not want to deal with anything (I had already been there 2 times prior). He began to insult me and that was when I felt discriminated because I am a Mexican American. I told him to stop acting like customs/border patrol because he is not and asked him to give me my belongings. He refused to do so! I then asked for the manager and he through my ID on the floor and said "get the fuck out of here". I got infuriated and went to the hotel lobby to complain and have someone go talk to them, but nobody was available. I called this place and asked for the manager who was not available either and returned my phone call days later when I was already back in California. I felt extremely discriminated and humiliated in front of everyone who saw!

Came here for a birthday and after hearing lots of great things figured we give it a shot. we got here after 10, it was 10 bucks to get in girls are 5 i think? it was pretty busy we were still able to get around okay. we were lucky enough to get a spot at the stand up counter facing the stage and that was perfect. could see everything going on in front of you and just turn around to get a drink.

honestly the best part was the band they had that night. Dark City Saints they played an amazing playlist a lot of songs from when i was growing up and i know that was the main reason i had such a fun time. we made our way up front and just sang the night away.

drink prices werent too bad, cheaper than going to shrine thats for sure. a mixed drink and a shot was about 16 bucks i believe.

they could loose the tables on the dance floor to make it bigger its a bit small and i dont think anyone would want to reserve those tables since there is no seperation from the dance floor and ppl would just be bumping into it all night. get rid of em scorpion !!

great time overall will come back

I've been here a couple of times after 10pm. I've went there with a couple of girlfriends for some cocktails at the bar and the bartender was very friendly! Went there with a big group not too long ago and had a blast! Good and strong drinks and good music, too! Went this past weekend and my friend got us VIP. Had a great time! Waitress was really good at keeping our glasses full and we sat right next to dancers and the dance floor. Personal bartender and bouncer.

Dance floor could be a bit larger...kinda cramped and small. Also, my friend and I both were charged for the same 6pk of redbull.

Other than those 2 little issues Scorpion Bar is fun! WIll be back :)

This place is alright. Its a fun atmosphere with decent food and good drinks.

The best thing I ate here was the guacamole.  The buffalo chicken taco wasn't bad, but the shell was slightly stale.  Margaritas are delicious, but be warned- a pitcher is quite large and costs $40 (they told us a pitcher serves 2).  We had a group of 8 and struggled to finish 2 pitchers

One major downside to this place is the low tables against the walls.  The booth seats end up being at the same level of the low tables, so you have to bend down to reach your food.

It def has a nice ambiance though when we last visited it was less cool than the past when we've gone there. Maybe it was too early, maybe it was the staff or a mix of both. Guy next to me was clearly "done" and smelled like vomit, bartender was alright but being watched by the managers so much that she seemed uncomfortable. The lighting was much darker than we remember and while thats fine for the "ambiance" you need to pick up the music tempo if you're gonna keep people awake! Slow music and darklight and alcohol will put us to sleep. But they do have cool expensive drinks and funky stuff to try if you love tequila cant beat that!

So, I did like this place and enjoyed my time here. Yet, you'll see I have a lot to criticize.

The decor doesnt make any sense- so its called Scoprion Bar, but has crosses on the wall, skull head decor, and weird branch things coming out of the ceiling. I'm confused?

I went here when the bar opened, so I didn't try the Mexican food during restaurant hours- but that just confuses me even further. WHAT is the theme here???

This place was pretty crowded; not a lot of room to move or walk around in.

That being said, you can reserve tables in the back... they range from 250-500 per table and you get a waitress to stand there by your table lol.  If you pay for a table, they take you in through the side entrance... which is totally a storage area that I'm surprised they allow the public to see. However, our waitress was totally fun and nice so that was good!

This bathroom was pretty bad and messy- the girls in line behind me kept yelling that it smelled like a zoo. They were right.

There is a poster of the prettiest girl ever on the wall. Bonus. lol.

Minus... bigggg minus- they have dancers performing here... but basically like go-go dancers. If I can see your full bum and you're humping the air, you're a stripper lol.  My request is that if women are up there like this, place some male dancers up there too.

I liked this place because my friends were a blast to dance with and we made friends with some other ladies who were there too. But the place itself, as you can see, I thought was eh.

Don't go for the food. I wanted a quick and light bite before a show, so I popped in here. I expected "On The Border" quality tex-Mex (and I shamefully do enjoy OTB and their melty fried gooey goodness) and this still managed to underwhelm. I started with the papas rellenos. They were fine except for the sauce that tasted like Thousand Island with extra paprika.

Pork tacos and requested soft corn tortillas. (They give the option of crunchy, soft flour tortilla, or soft corn) It had a cheeze sauce on it instead of fresh cheese. It didn't even come with salsa. If you're going to not give me salsa, you better make sure the meat is moist and flavorful enough to stand on its own. Don't give me dry flavorless crap and then charge me for salsa. The worst part of the taco was they didn't heat up the tortilla first. When you warm the tortilla first, it becomes soft and pliable. A cold tortilla just breaks and crumbles apart. And then the rice: you know how old reheated rice never fully regains its texture? The red rice tasted like day old rice. I glanced at my fiance's quesadilla and didn't even wanna try it. His did come with salsa and I could see I wasn't missing much. It was just average atomic-red jarred stuff. There was not even an attempt to buy higher-quality salsa that could pass as fresh or homemade?

The menu calls itself traditional Mexican-style, which is an abomination. It is neither traditional Mexican, nor good tex-Mex. Chipotle tastes better than this.

I would give 3 stars for drinks but never again for food.

    Just a few quick thoughts.

    When: Saturday Night, 6PM
    Who: Me and my wife
Why: Birthday drinks, casual dinner before hitting the tables

What:  Very good vibe, dark, good music and attentive service.  Wife and I sat at the bar just before it got crowded. Every table was reserved, so only bar seating was available which was cool with us as we prefer to eat at the bar and talk to the bartender.  Margaritas were good and they offered  a bunch of variations.  I got the three amigos that had a splash of dos equis in it.  Good, different and it cut the sweetness of their house margarita.

Enchiladas for me, burrito for her.  Average.  Not bad, not great.

Overall, I think this is a good choice at Foxwoods.  Prices were reasonable and the place was very comfortable.  Like many other tequila bars, they had a lot of choices and the "regular" tequila they use for the house margarita was better than you find at the chain restaurants.

    We'll go back there again.

I stopped by Scorpion Bar once in Summer 2010. My Martini was average at best as I feel like the bartender was more valued for her customer service skills than for her knowledge of alcohol and mixology. I wouldn't really mind it much except the drinks are quite expensive. I suppose you are paying for atmosphere more than anything at a place like this, so it's not that bad but if you want a knowledgeable bartender you may want to check out David Burke Prime, although you will pay top-dollar there for your drink too.

I know this is Foxwoods, but really 2 drinks and quesdillas amounts to $50? This is a casino, but it isn't Vegas! Someone should tell Scorpion this.

Yes the atmosphere is nice but the service is awful. Especially if you are in a large group and they get to add 20% to your bill regardless.

Be warned! You are probably better off at High Rollers.

A group of my friends and I went in for drinks for a birthday celebration. My boyfriend put his drink down to have a dance off when a bouncer took it away. I asked to speak with the manager when he told the waitress to give me his card. I have never been treated so badly and recommend that the bar fires the manger Aaron Davis. There are plenty of better hires.

Scorpion Bar's not a bad option among the bars and restaurants within Foxwoods. I've sat at both the bar and the outside patio area, which were both enjoyable experiences. The bar is a good spot to watch a game and get quick service. The outside on a nice day is pretty relaxing - low couches and coffee-height tables. You can enjoy a nice view while sipping on some good margaritas. Service is nice both inside and out. Food is OK - the tacos didn't wow me. Three stars for being A-OK.

Chicken nacho appetizers were just ok.  Little chicken and lots of dry nachos. Waitress was not great.  Didn't understand the concept of not bringing entree until appetizers were finished.   Never checked back to see if we needed more drinks or if our food was ok.  Atmosphere was inviting.

I came here with a bunch of girls for dinner for a bachelorette party. We were seated on very uncomfortable tree trunk stools. We asked to move our table ... but we were turned down rudely by the manager. The food wasn't great either. Did not like this place, ambience or food.

    Drinks: 5 Stars
    Food: 1 Star

This place has disgraceful Mexican food but unbelievable drinks. Definitely worth going to for drinks and maybe appetizers, but the entrees are not worth the money.

Though overall, I prefer the Mohegan Sun to Foxwoods, and I may even give the nod to Leffingwell's to the Scorpion Bar, these two are in a much closer race than the overall casinos.

When you step inside the Scorpion Bar, it is like you enter a completely different world than the mall-like casino outside.  Awesome.  If you have any particular aversion to religious themes, you might want to avoid the place.  This is not to say that they are overtly religious, just that there are a lot of crosses and such around - and if you have a problem with crosses and somewhat scantily-clad waitstaff, that could be another problem.  Think of it like a music video for The Vampire Lestat.  If that is bad, you might want to avoid it.

Though there is the word "bar" in the name, they also serve food here, which is nice.  They even have all-you-can-eat tacos at certain times, though like many other places, they are metered.  That is to say you can get two, then two more, than one, then one, then one (and so on).  So you can eat as many as you like, but it takes a while.  The food is a solid offering, especially for a casino in the middle of Connecticut, and even more so when you consider the relatively bland offerings in the rest of the mall-like atmosphere.

    So much tequila~!

Ok, ok, I didn't stop in because of the tequila bar (which features a MASSIVE list), I came to eat.  Fortunately I noticed the cowboy burger.  Delicious.  We ended up sharing a huge fishbowl of alcohol too.  Doesn't matter what's in it; if it's in a fishbowl, it will get you drunk.

Prices were a little steep but its in Foxwoods so deal with it.

Loved the decor. Went when it wasn't busy though, so we didn't get the great atmosphere everyone is talking about. The manager at the door lured us in with a big smile. He was super nice and friendly, as were the bartenders.

Drinks are just ok. Beer selection is standard, margarita was fine but not spectacular. Same story with the food, though I was surprised by how good the burrito was.

Huuuge selection of tequila, if that's your thing.

I'd go back sometime on the weekend, or when it was busier. Maybe that's the key?

Stopped in here for dinner while at Foxwoods and really enjoyed it!! Very touristy with lots of older gamblers on a late Monday afternoon so it wasn't the "bar" it normally is I don't think :-)

The waitress convinced me to get the Cuban sandwich and it was aaaaaaaaaaawesome!!! So perfectly crunchy on the outside and the pulled pork was juicy and really good quality ham.  Sweet potato fries were nice and crunchy!!! My friend got tacos and loved all of them and our margaritas were delicious!

Great place for drinks and a bite to eat while gambling!

This place was a lot of fun.  We had dinner here one night.  I ordered the Steak Tacos, which were pretty good.  The Steak was juicy and cooked just right....not over/under cooked.  They also have a nice selection of Mexican Beer.  I opted for the Dos Equis Lager.

The real fun however was later in the evening, when the place transforms into a dance club.  Our server jumped up on a box and started dancing....we were like "Hey, she was just serving us food and now she's pole dancing...."  It was hilarious and entertaining.

It's a mixed crowd with some older, middle aged people and the younger crowd.  Not what I would expect, but I was told that there's not much to do around this area, so people flock to places like this to have a good time.  It was great people watching.

The only bad part about this evening is that last call was at 12:30 am.....what?!  The party was just starting!  I hate being in States that have last call....total buzz kill.

    Return Factor - 90%

This is a great bar to start off the night.  The decor is pretty cool, having that ultra hip but quirky I'm a bad-ass cowboy feel to it.

The bartenders were great and attentive maybe because it was pretty dead around 9pm and was still quiet after we left around 10pm but still showed their caliber.

The menu has awesome cocktails and of course tequila, tequila and tequila.  My fave drinks:

    -Princesa Margarita
    -La Chica Mala
-Scorpion Bowls (didn't try but good deal but is a 2person minimum order)

My standard Patron Magarita wasn't overly salty and not dumped with sour mix, so they know  how to mix their cocktails.

Standard Margaritas start at $9 and then you can go up to the $100 Margarita!

My only gripe was the INTENSE and LOUD country music.  But I believe, it changes if they have a DJ.

I love the decor here, and the guys will love the half dressed waitresses. Pretty sure we were sitting in a booth next to Jenna Jameson too.

Food was good but nothing to write home about. We got the Scorpion Wings, Pork Sliders and Chicken Tacos.

Drinks were great though and the waitress was super nice.

I'm a fan of this place. So far I have been a couple times and the employees are really friendly, the bartenders are courteous and attentive.

The atmosphere reminds me of dusk to dawn - but also a calming feel, and on the weekends (only time I seem to have gone) the DJ's mix rock with some beats which is refreshing to hear if not in the mood to go to shrine. Drinks are good, and around 10:30 they have go-go dancers who dance on the center bar. Never had any of the food so I cant comment on that.

They have an outside patio which is nice to take a break on, and an enclosed porch area as well.

The place gets packed but they do get people through the door quickly so we have never had to wait more than a couple minutes to get in!

    I really like this bar.

I'm pretty sure it has something to do with the atmosphere that makes me feel like I'm in an Eagles song...Hotel California perhaps?

The music is cool  and a nice blend of classic rock and things like the foo fighters, nivana, ect.(I am less about the DJ when the nightlife takes over. Sometimes there are go-go dancers. Amusing.).

The food is okay. I've tried the nachos. They're ok. I've done that all you can eat taco deal (don't do this, the tacos are double wrapped and it gets old quick).

The drinks are excellent. Pricey, as they all are in the casino but really good and when I went, strong in a good way too.

I had two Scorpian Bowls with my Niece, the first a sweet almost Hawaiian Punch flavor one and the second a bit more tarty cranberry/pomegrante flavor.

I also had an Enter the Dragon, which if memory serves, ended up being pinkish and tasting like cotton candy (I can't wait for another one actually).

Here is the scoop on how to really enjoy the Scorpian Bar: $5 Chips & Salsa.  Get it. It's DELICIOUS! Then get a drink to warm with your pals, and then split a scorpion bowl or two. FUN TIMES.

I liked this place so much we went here twice on our girls night. First for a drink to start off the night before dinner and then after we got bored at a dance club at MGM Grand at Foxwoods. This was more our scene. Music was great from both bands that played. I didn't really like the girls getting up to dance at around 11:30 or so but the guys liked it and that seemed to be the point :-) Drinks were reasonably priced for where it is. Staff was attentive and good at working the bar. Would go back here for sure. When we were there for our starter drink around 5 or so the music selection was great as well.

Hey, you really can't beat it. Great music, pretty people, and they treat everyone with respect unlike some OTHER clubs.
The DJ plays remixed rock classics and it actually works!

We stopped by on a Thursday night and the spot was popping. It is a tequila bar and trust me, Every tequila ever made was in stock here. This place reminds me of the lounges in Las Vegas. The DJ (DJ JD was on that evening) was tearing it up with a lot of rock and classic rock/dance music. Good times, Everyone having fun. No cover, tho the security did do a double-take on the new California ID's. LOL

I entered Scorpion Bar and initially was very impressed. First by its appearance and second by their modest prices on food and alcohol. I had the pork burrito covered in their red sauce with a side of guac. The burrito was also filled with oaxaca cheese which was a great touch I also had one of their margarita's. All of these were very tasty, the burrito even came on a hot plate. I also tried their burger, which came spiced which I wasn't a big fan of. The biggest gripe with the burger was that it was overcooked (asked for medium rare), it did come with some great sweet potato fries though. The sangria was not good at all, tasted like someone added too much cool aid mix.

On our way out this place looks like it was turning into more of a club. We were going back to the room and asked if we could come back for the music. The grumpy old door guy said we would have to pay. After we just paid for dinner, I think that is a little ridiculous. Thankfully another door guy told us on our way out that we should talk to him and he would allow us back in.

Great burritos and relatively inexpensive...$9. On the flipside, the drinks are expensive and small. Also, if you come in with a large party, you're screwed. They'll seat you in an area around a coffee table which doesnt entirely lend itself to eating dinner.

Lastly, this place just loves the Butt Rock. A constant barrage of Nickelback, P.O.D, Saliva, etc... -1 star just for that.

Unfortunately, no decor could save this place for me.  I am not sure what I was thinking when I went to eat at a place that is a 21+ bar all the time, but I did and I regret it!  We had reservations for 6 @ 8pm and we were lucky enough to get a booth, if we didn't we could have sat at one of the many floor level tables (which I could only imagine would be terribly awkward).

Now it was 8pm on a Friday night so the bar was anything but hopping, but by the look of our frantic server you would think she was slammed all night.  The night started off wrong when the six of us were clamoring over two menus until our waitress came some 15 minutes later to give us our complete set.  She took out drink menu and we were off.  Service is anything but punctual here!

As a Mexican bar, I was impressed with their selection of tequilas, but I was not impressed that they did not salt the rims of the glass (even after asking you if you want salt or sugar).  The drinks are rather expensive (at $10 a margarita), but you are in the casino and should expect that.  What you shouldn't expect is that your $10 margarita should taste like sour mix.  It was one of the worse margaritas I have  had in a while.  The flavored margaritas were better, however, but not much.

The food was no saving grace either.  Besides the run-of-the-mill appetizer list there is only six main entrees; one would think they should all be fantastic.   Most of our table got the burrito baked in the enchilada sauce (for an extra $4) with various meats and vegetables.  If you are a vegetarian, definitely pass on this place because their idea of assorted vegetables was mostly onions.  The enchilada sauce was nothing more than a tomato sauce left over from one of the casinos Italian restaurants.  The waitress even mentioned on how our burritos smelled like pasta.  To top off our dinner, one of our meals (out of six) was missing on service and the make-shift burrito that came out of the kitchen some ten minutes later was all but acceptable.

To end our night, we received out bill with 18% gratuity already applied and we all sank in our booth realizing the gravity of the evening in full. The waitress was barely around, one of six meals was forgotten, our margaritas tasted like some tequila sour, and there was pasta sauce on our burritos.  What a terrible place for dinner.  I would not recommend it to anyone; maybe the place as a bar is better, but do not waste your time or money on the food.

The decor couldn't be any cooler. There is a mixture of black leather couches and with coffee tables, comfy chairs mixed in with booths and regular restaurant tables. The place is really dark but with the proper amount of lighting. There was karaoke when I was there, not so busy but appropriately loud. We got some apps that were decent. We got the Pu Pu platter, the wings are great, fries awesome, some cheesy thing really good, a cheesy spicy quesadilla, really really good. Cesar salad was really lame and kind of depressing.
The thing that made this so good was all of the dipping sauces with all of the food. Life is so much better with dipping sauces:-).
The guac was really deelish and fresh. I heart cilantro!

Oh and the staff couldn't have been any nicer.  Every single person there really wants this place to succeed, and I think it will.

I found the Scorpion Bar a nice place to start out the night with a couple of cocktails. I love the decor. You feel like your in "From Dusk Till Dawn" and a vampire fight is about to break out. Very Mexican/Gothic/Death Metal. They have shelf after shelf of every brand of Tequila you can think of. When I was there on a Saturday night, they mostly played old rock and roll hits (GunsNRoses, etc.). I paid no cover (but this was a little prior to 10pm). The drinks were good, but a little pricey for a Connecticut bar. The crowd was a mix of older couples and bachelorette parties. When they started to get a little rowdy (meaning corny), we drank our drink, and kept it moving to the rest of the casino. Cool points for the in bar photo booth though.

    Scorpion Bar is pretty bad.

Went here a few nights ago.
    1) 5 dollar cover for all
    2) You walk in and its all guys.  Maybe 5 to 1 guy ratio
    3) Drinks...10 bucks a drink....
    4) Two go-go dancers craving cash or they stop dancing

    and thats it folks....

    nothing more to see...

all-in-all this casino's drinking and club scene is so out of wack and expensive...i was totally under-impressed.
