Decent pizza horrible customer service. Our 1st experience here was ok but the order was wrong we ordered deep dish & got thin crust didn't know till we got home, the crust was doughy & soggy. Our 2nd attempt to eat from here was the 1 that sealed the deal for us. We were placed on hold 4 times while attempting to place our order for delivery & were told it would be about 45 mins to an hour, no prob. After an hour & 20 mins I called to see the status of our order & was told they would be there any time now, ok I understand its Friday night it's busy no worries. Another 25 mins went by I again called to see what was going on & again was told it would be there any time now. I asked to speak with a manager when he picked up the phone I started out calmly explaining our situation but every 4 words I spoke I was interrupted & wasn't being giving the opportunity to get a sentence out, I got very angry with him & told him where he could put his pizza. You would think the manager would have some common sense & let the customer vent to him then defuse the situation & everything would have been great. Â But nope he had to be a back side of a donkey. Don't go to this place!
Review Source:The food is great. Â While we do have an amazing assortments of pizza joints in Flagstaff, Scotts definitely stands out. Â Their deep dish pies are great, and their wings are to die for! Â They always have a great selection of beer on tap when you're eating in, and the atmosphere is pretty cool as well
My only issue is the service, namely the experience I recently had with a delivery order. Â I had to repeat everything to the girl on the phone at least 5 times, and she still got my address wrong , resulting in me getting my order a hour and a half after I placed it. Â Granted it was a Friday night, and I get that things get busy and hectic, just have someone on the phone who is halfway competent in the future and I'll up this to 5/5
Ate dinner here our last night visiting Flagstaff. Should have ate somewhere else. Â The wait staff was not overly friendly or good. Our waitress had this overly fake smile on her face every time she peered at us. The green chili home fries were the best thing we had. Fries and green chilie were good. Â We also ordered an order of pepperoni rolls and a 10" deep dish pizza. Â The rolls were greesey and overcooked. Â The pizza was small, thick and undercooked. The crust tasted like biscuit dough. The pizza was so thick that the middle was not done. Â I sent my 8 yr daughter to the rest room and I followed her just to make sure she locked the door behind her. Â Good thing too..some man was loitering outside the door.... soon as she got out of the bathroom, some 20 something guy pushed past her and went into the women's restroom. Â He looked like he's done this before and no one acted like it was a big deal. Â
However  the food is not up to my taste... the owner is. He was very nice and helped up out.  My daughter left her new hat there. I called from Oklahoma and confirmed it was there.  I sent them a box and postage wheres they boxed up her hat for me and sent it back home to me in Oklahoma. Although I am not fond of the pizza... that was a good gesture of good will.
Easily the best pizza in all of Flagstaff, but it isn't for the weak. Expect your pizza to weigh around 10 pounds, be like 2 inches thick with 4 layers of toppings (these might be hyperbolic but seriously...the heartiest pizza you'll find in the town). Thick, thick, thick and just overflowing with cheese and sauce. They deliver fast, prices are good and menu items other than pizza are also great as well.
Review Source:Update. Gross! Gross! Gross! Â Just awful Chicago Style pizza. Â Waited over an hour for it. Some parts of the pizza had pepperoni stacked 11-12 slices high. Â Overheard the 2 hostesses talking about their dating situation and one of them actually said that they refused to date a minority. Â I don't care what your preference is, but for god's sake, keep your racist rant to a whisper. Â Read the other reviews. Scott's employees are f'ing rude! Â I would mind as much if the food was any good but it is so bad it actually puts you in a irate mood. Â I wish that I could wish this place away. Â But, as long as there is a large population of drunk college kids who were raised on Sunny Delight and bologna, places like this will always exist. Â The owner has a habit of responding to reviews but never takes it upon himself to implement the necessary changes to his restaurant.
Review Source:Disclaimer - I've never been to Chicago and don't know what Chicago pizza is supposed to taste like. Â But I've eaten a lot of pizza in my life and I liked the pizza here. Â In the range of pizza options that Flag now has, this fits in as the old school, American neighborhood pizza joint. Â We got the deep dish with a basic sausage, onion, pepper topping (can't remember what it was called). Â The crust was very good - Â thick yet light and not too chewy. Â Toppings were generous and the sausage was good. Â We had a antipasto salad to tide us over while we waited for the pizza - also very good with quality toppings. Â Nice selection of beers on tap and our waiter was knowledgeable about them.
Our server was a little slow to greet us and get our drink order. Â But after that, service was prompt and attentive.
I drive through downtown quite often, and regularly see this restaurant. I have yet to try this place so I cannot comment on the quality of the food or the service, but one thing that I do have to say about it is that it just looks unappetizing because of the employees that sit outside of the restaurant in their aprons smoking. I have seen this at least a half a dozen times and it is just gross. I don't want to even eat here. The side door of the restaurant opens right to the street when you drive by, anyone out taking a break is seen. I know everyone has a right to take a smoke break at work, but please find another place to do so. Customers would rather not see it. The visual I get when I imagine myself trying this restaurant is a dirty apron around my food, and grimy and greasy, cigarette smoke scented hands meddling pizza. Ick. Judging by the reviews so far...sounds like there are some other issues that need attending to.
Review Source:We ordered a Chicago style pizza. The wait is usually 45 minutes which is understandable but when the pizza arrived the crust wasn't done
The ingredients tasted very bland and it was expensive. On top of that the service was not the greatest the cooks would be sitting at the bar talking after our order was placed. Not a great experience.
I had seen this place driving by and finally decided to give it a try, been craving some good pizza for a while, im normally a new york thin crust guy but decided the to give this chicago deep dish style a try, parking is very limited but hardly a downside, good small places almost always have bad parking. atmosphere was average, seat your self, service was good, tad slow but im pretty patient and forgiving, this was due to only one server working.
ordered a dozen Windy City Wings , mild, and my god these were some of the best ive tried in a long time, they were large, crispy skin, not soaked with sauce, and moist and tender on the inside. great wings, highly recommended.
next ordered a 15" Magnificent Mile deep dish monster, this was huge and delicious, the layers of sauce, meat and cheese was quite awesome, 8 slices total, could only finish 1 1/2 slices. cheese was on the heavy side, could use less and would be perfect, otherwise really good. next time may ask for a little less cheese.
i don't know what everyone else standards are for deep dish style pizza but this place was awesome and they got a new fan, will go back again.
Two critical things to judge a deep dish pizza by: 1) Do the layers hold up? And 2) how is the crust?
One menu item caught our eye: the Chicago Fire with spicy sausage, spicy hot giardiniera, and onion. This is an inspired combination of toppings, like sampling multiple items off the menu in one dish: the sauce, sausage, the giardiniera - a topping option I've only seen offered at LOU MALNATI'S. The tangy flavors of the giardiniera (crisp carrots, celery, and green peppers) contrast well against the sweet tomato sauce, full-bodied with big tomato chunks and sliced onion. And the sausage, free of casing, added some nice, garlicky heat.
Scott's does invert the traditional Chicago layers by putting the tomato sauce on the bottom and the mozzarella on the top. But the inversion works. This is a carefully a stacked pizza, each layer applied just before the pie goes into the oven, that way the flavors don't dilute one another, but meld just enough in the baking.
And the crust? The traditional cornmeal crust is needed to hold up to all the wet ingredients. But it's not just a thick crust, it's hand-formed, savory, and a delicacy all to itself. Yes, this deep dish is not for the carb-phobic. You do not leave this crust on your plate.
We will have to go back to try the hot dogs! (<a href="/redir?url=http%3A%2F%2Ffoodvana.com&s=f6fb324f0938a4ea14063f7add93b47105374e7e322bf7295ad68d8a328ab6c4" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://foodvana.com</a>)
Delicious appetizers (you absolutely need to try the garlic cheese bread!), scrumptious (and extremely filling) deep dish Chicago style pizza, and a laid back atmosphere. Â
A good location for sports fans, especially those who love the Bears, Â Cubs and other Chicago affiliated teams, to spend a relaxed evening eating delicious food, talking with friends, and watching sports.
It's a bad sign when you're happy that the waitress screwed up your order, and when the person who suggested the place keeps apologizing after the meal. Â Three of us had lunch at Scott's: 2 former Flag residents and a local who was curious about the new pizza joint in town. Â We ordered a couple of slices and a calzone. Â My "meatless" pizza had a layer of pepperonis buried under the cheese. Â The one bite I took of the crust and cheese was enough to make me rethink the whole pizza idea. I sent the slice back and declined to pick anything else. Â My brother said his sausage slice was equally unappetizing. Â (He ate it, but that doesn't mean much. Â He once powered through a Taco Bell chicken burrito that tasted "off". Â He managed to stuff a second one down his throat on top of it before staggering out the door and losing the whole meal in the parking lot. He's not one to let a bit of tastelessness--or botulism--stand in the way of a meal.) Â Our last hope was the missing calzone, but when it arrived, it looked oddly biscuity. Â My friend ended up scraping out the innards and composting the crust, which she said was inedible. Â We all agreed that I was the clear winner in this meal, since I got to go to Fratelli's afterwards and get a true slice of pizza. Â Yes, it was almost double the price of Scott's, but it was excellent. Â
This seems to be a somewhat unlucky location for restaurants, which rotate through at a brisk clip. Unless we happened to hit Scott's on a spectacularly bad day (was the busboy filling in for a sick cook?) I predict this place will quickly follow suit.
We were looking for a new pizza place in town and my husband heard good things about Scott's. Â We ordered a thin crust pizza with Alfredo sauce, pepperoni, sausage, and basil, an order of bbq wings, and a house salad.
The food came a lot faster then others in town, especially new jersey pizza co. which was the place we were looking to replace. Â The delivery man was very friendly and he mentioned that we could have gotten a larger pizza, double the wings, a bigger salad and a 2 liter soda for the same price if we had asked for the family meal. Â I wish the guy who took the order over the phone mentioned it so we could have taken advantage of it. Â
The pizza was nice and crispy, the sausage had some good spice to it, and the cheese was a nice thick layer. Â The wings were very juicy and tender but a little fatty. Â The bbq sauce had some heat but was not too overpowering. Â The salad tasted like a bagged salad mix but made unique with fresh cucumbers, tomatoes, and lots of black olives.
We will definitely going back
It doesn't look like much, just a counter in a gas station, but wow is that some good pizza. Â It looks brilliant and it tastes better than that. Â Thank goodness it isn't any closer to our house.
Service was a tad unenthusiastic I suppose, but I'm not sure I expect much more from a guy who has to work a gas station pizza counter on a Tuesday night. Â The pizza was great, the price was good, it was hot and ready when they said it would be. Â That's exactly what I want out of a take-out pizza place.
