Scruffy Murphy's Irish Pub & Eatery

We didn't eat here... but just stopped in for a couple pints while walking around town.  The atmosphere was nice and we sat at a big wooden shamrock table inside the door (appeared vintage at least)... but that's about where it wore off for us.

The beer was about a buck higher than anywhere else nearby... the barkeep was slow and unfriendly... and the selection wasn't all that great.

From readin other reviews, perhaps this is more of a late-night and music spot than it is a neighborhood Irish pub?  Shrug.  Not worth the visit, for us, unfortunately...

It's just another bar on Broadway. Sure they were advertised in Maxim Magazine, but they paid good money for that publicity. They claim to be an Irish pub, but the only thing Irish about the place is the name & the smoking. There are no games (billiards, darts), the drink prices are high, and security is either non-existant or over-bearing (I once watched 4 security guards choke & drag-out a small man that was drunk, not belligerent, and that is a common occurrence). They have live bands, sometimes good sometimes bad. Overall, it's just another place for people to get drunk & thrown out of.
