It's so loud here it's hard to have a conversation. The music is at a good volume but the floors are concrete which makes it so much louder. I would of stayed for a bottle of wine but i couldn't take how loud it was. i wasn't a fan of The Mac and cheese it had a strong sour milk taste. Also they didn't have a Malbec which I was pretty disappointed in since it is a wine bar. The service was great and the decor was nice.
Review Source:Coming back to a place you had previously written off is always interesting. I got convinced by multiple friends to try Sea Legs again. I tried to put my "F this place" attitude in a far off corner and enjoy myself. Well....
This place still sucks. I really think some of the 5 star reviewers huddled around the free wifi hotspot at the same short bus drop off. Did I really read a review that said if you didn't like the noise to come back at another time when it's not busy?? Â Genius, that one.
It's still F'in loud in here. They have a full glass wall behind the bar. The wall opposite that has mirrors as art. Â The wall leading into the lounge has glass paned windows. The last wall and ceiling have nothing to cancel noise.... Who needs a lesson on acoustics??
I know who needs that lesson. The same (apparently female) person hiring the servers based on looks and obviously not intelligence or knowledge of their product. Or even the fact that customers don't like to sit for 20-30 minutes on end without being checked on. How many bad service issues can I pack into a 4 day weekend? Well, in fact I found out, and the answer is 3. Yes 3 out of the 4 servers I had were bad. With a serious stand out Friday evening when it was slow. The guy comes over and says he will get waters, bring them back and take our order. We sure saw him over the next half hour, just not anywhere near our table. Looked like he had laughs with multiple staff members, took other orders, and who knows what else. Didn't take our orders yet... Multiple people from my party got up and ordered from the bar. When super server did finally come back there was no apology or explanation just "what can I get you?" Â He then was completely lost when asked questions about their beer selection, although assured us that "oh that's a good one, brah!" Â Thanks Keeanu...
Drinks and food here are not cheap. I don't know about the quality of the food because I couldn't bring myself to pay for it. I thought for a while about the $9 "stinky fries" but then decided to go elsewhere. A short walk across the parking lot to Boardwalk Burgers and Fries and I had a burger, fries, and a drink (soda) for $8.46. Better value, I'm sure.
I have renewed my conviction to steer everybody away from here. I wish the future owners of this space well. I can't imagine they are long off. As soon as the "new" wears off and the few wealthy folks find a better playground I think sea legs will be a memory.
If you must go, sit at the bar and enjoy the decent craft beer selection - the only redeeming quality.
um wtf. if this place doesn't make you feel deaf, you'll probably leave deaf. and with hoarse voice.
i have never been in such a freaking loud restaurant. it was full, but i've been in full restaurants before and never tore my vocal cords trying to get through dinner. i don't know if it's the way the place was built, or if it's all the people drunk off wine, but holy shit. intimate is one thing this place is not.
the food itself is average. the kind of stuff i could make in my kitchen if i wanted to. the only reason this place is cool is the half off bottles on wine wednesday. that's the only thing they got gong for them and the ONLY reason i would ever go back and endure the noise and mediocre food.
