My wife and I had dinner on April 14, 2013. Restaurant decor nice, quite, could carry on conversation. However , we both ordered steaks. Both arrived wayyyy overdone. To be fair our  server Marcia did offer to have them replaced. We declined since our sides would have been cold and did not want to wait another 30-45 minutes for the entire meal to be re-cooked. The manager did offer free desserts. We each had 1 drink and split a salad and the bill with tip was $178. Price equal or greater than a Morton's, Jeff Ruby's, Ruth Chris's, Eddie Merlot's with the taste/value of a Ponderosa. Setting and staff nice but way over priced.

Food was good,  but our waiter forgot about my wife and I time and time again. As a result he got tipped what he was worth, which was not very much Sinclair's I advise you to invest in better servers. Next time we go to French Lick Indiana resorts we will NOT be going to Sinclair's.

Dave and I came here our first night in the hotel.  I'm glad I didn't listen to the front desk, who told me 'resort casual' was the attire- definitely dress up when coming here or you WILL feel out of place!

We went all out on our meal and it was fantastic.

The only complaint I have is that the butter for our rolls tasted as if it had been frozen- you know, that gross freezer taste.

We decided to order a bottle of wine, and were happy to see a large variety of both wines and price ranges.  We opted for a bottle of Riesling on the lower end of the price range and both loved it (we're not super into wine).

We started with gouda ravioli, which was amazing.

My entree was the sea bass, while Dave ordered their blackened crab stuffed trout.  Both were good, but I certainly preferred mine.  We also ordered a side of asparagus, which came out as a generous portion.

For dessert, we shared the white chocolate macadamia nut cheese cake, which was HUGE.  Dave and I had trouble finishing it.

Sinclair's was really the perfect way to start our vacation.  It was just the right amount of decadence without being pretentious or overly pricey.

Fantastic fine dining! I had the filet. Request Arnie as your server.

Also, you must see "Table One." This room is for private dining and is one of the coolest things I've seen. Not only is the china extremely expensive Versace, but one wall is glass and overlooks the kitchen. It has this sci-fi privacy feature that "clouds" the interior glass if you no longer want to watch the bustling kitchen beyond.

I regret to deduct one point because wine prices are more than triple retail. If it was not for these outrageous wine prices, I would have given Sinclair's five stars. I've decided to take a stand and deduct one star when I review restaurants if they gouge customers on wine prices; it really is insulting. So consider this a five-star review with a star deducted for the wine prices. Even though Sinclair's has a very impressive wine list, the wine prices are outrageous! This is an insult to people that know wine, but unfortunately is common among most restaurants.

This place is so so and overpriced for what you get.  My lobster bisque was off tasting and over salted.   I ordered the pork tenderloin and my wife the filet.  Both dishes were prepared well but the flavor combinations were whacky and confusing.  I fear there is no good dining in or around French Lick.

We ate here for my wife's birthday on a slow weeknight while we were staying at the French Lick Springs Resort Hotel. We had a very happy experience at Sinclair's, and I would recommend it. However, at a price point more suitable for Washington, DC, or San Francisco than for Indiana, I feel compelled to award it stars accordingly. For the price of the entrees, they really should have been exceptional, and instead both seemed merely fine.

My wife's pork chop was well seasoned and came out as a very generous helping; however, I thought it a little overcooked. My own walleye pike was good - flaky and not overly breaded. However, the accompanying frites were soft and almost soggy. We did partake of the well-curated wine list, which included some local(ish) wines, which contributed greatly to our enjoyment of dinner. The service was very attentive, but a little casual considering the cost. The dining room itself is beautiful and likely very atmospheric at night - however, as it was Indiana in May, there was sunlight well after we left dinner around 9pm. All in all, a happier experience than a three-star review might indicate, but it seems only fair to compare this restaurant to its similarly-priced competitors. In that comparison, it lacks attention to detail and a little bit of innovation in the menu, as the options are all quite straightforward.

I went to Sinclair's on a Saturday night with my husband.  We bought a West Baden package that included $100 dining credit there.  We wanted to stay kind of close within that budget so we both drank water.  We were starving by the time we could get in to the restaurant.  (They only take tables every 30 minutes and I would recommend making reservations earlier in the day.)
We ordered the shrimp cocktail appetizer which was very good but a little light on the shrimp.   I would've preferred a tiny bit more horseradish but I have high standards from eating St. Elmos cocktail shrimp.  The rolls were tasty while we waited for the main course, but we ate them fairly fast and our waiter (Peter, I think) never refilled the basket.
I ordered the Chicken Scallopini which came served over mashed potatoes and was artfully garnished with julienned veggies.  There was some sort of sauce on top, but I can't remember what it was.  It was all VERY tasty.  I ate every bit of it.
My husband ordered the shrimp pesto pasta.  He was a little disappointed that the shrimp still had the shell tail attached but his dish was otherwise delicious also.
We followed dinner by spliting a tiramisu, one of our favorite desserts.  It was oddly served in a cocktail glass but it was also very tasty.
Our bill came to 98.66 and we left some cash as a tip.  Overall a good dinner, we just wouldn't go here except for a pretty special occasion because it was so pricey for pretty small plates of food.

As with the hotel Sinclair's resides, this place was "good" but defineitely not great. The Cocktail list was absurd, more like desert than cocktails and the wine list was ridiculously expensive. Stay with beer or bourbon. The menu was just enough with some good first and second courses. Having a late lunch I started with a baby spinach salad with strawberry viniagrette, boursin crouton and pistachios that was probably one of the best salds I have ever had. My companion had the crab gazpacho that was a little fishy tasting. For entree I had the Pork Tenderloin (I know, I know boring) however it was sliced and laid atop cheesy grits, spinach and chorizio and was rather amazing, with garlic and cheese and butter flavors puring through. I felt a little glutonous. My companion had teh scallops and which were $36 for 3 scallops!! They were well cooked but the flavors (mandarin orange and fennel) never quite came together.

The room was great, however, catch it on a busy night and it'll for sure be loud.

$ stars would have been achieved if not for the service. Maybe I just don't get Indiana charm. There was confusion and interruption every step of the meal.

I am spare with the stars generally but West Baden really won me over.  I loved the quality of the food in the main restaurant, called Sinclair's.  They had early reservations available for dinner even last minute and accommodated us with a window large enough to allow my friend and I to observe a few local deer just on the edge of the hotel's woods as we dined.  Simply unreal, but made us think of the scene in "Funny Farm" where the owners paid locals to release a deer on queue in order to impress visitors.  The wine selection was decent tho a few food items and beverages were unavailable.

If they would add and maintain an herb garden on the grounds and started a country organic farm breakfast/lunch/dinner/brunch regimen, they would become legendary.  :)

One of the two high-end dining establishments at the French Lick/West Baden resort, and easily our favorite. We had the unique opportunity to dine at "Table 1", and it was unbelievable. The ability to watch the chefs prepare our meals was a treat. every course was outstanding, and we're pretty picky eaters.

Sinclair's is the fine dining restaurant at the West Baden Springs Hotel in French Lick.

We didn't plan on eating here but the restaurant at our hotel had a refrigerator failure and the food went bad.  The staff at Sinclair's was great,  they were very attentive and wanted to make our experience special.

While this is a fine dining place, we were in Indiana, and there was a hillbilly in coveralls next to us.  Now just because he was a hillbilly didn't mean he wasn't a perfect gentleman, he definitely was.  But his out of place appearance was totally accepted and respected by the staff.

The food was very good.  Everything was well seasoned and flavorful.  We had a banana's flambe for desert that was good (even though the waiter struggled a little).  I had a NY strip that was done perfectly rare and my wife had a table cut chicken dish that was perfectly cooked and very moist.

I would recommend this place with out a doubt.
