I have since been back and unfortunately my experience has not been much better. Â Again, beautiful space with so much potential. Â
The entrance has changed since last time I visited and is just as confusing. Â I know they are working with what they have and the fact that they changed the process means they are aware and are trying to find the best approach, but it is just not a good first impression. Â
Seating...instead of just finding a place on the patio, they are now 'seating' you. Â We were told 1/2 hour wait or we could sit at the family style table...we said sure. Â That was a mistake. Â Awkward. Â We didn't even order. Â Not only is it tough to get comfortable to talk with someone with you, there are people sitting all around you. Â We noticed a lot of people on the patio sitting in two chairs with 4 in a group. Mi would have had no issue asking someone if we could grab the two other chairs.
This place should be first come first serve on seating. Â It is a bar....a wine bar, but it is a bar.
Knowing prices were high and wine is served in plastic cups, we left and went to stellar across the street. Â
So wanting to like this place but they just do enough to make it painful.
I like Sip.
Literally went up for a drink and left due to weather, but I enjoyed myself while I was there. Â Makes you feel you're not in Greenville, but maybe in NYC. Â Simple decor, but very appropriate. Â This is an awesome place to people-watch. Â Service was fast and drink sizes were good.
I'll definitely go back. Â The ingredients are there at Sip to have a good time.
