While we've enjoyed Southern Culture Kitchen and Bar in the past, the problems added up on our last visit, and we probably will pass the next time someone suggests dining there.
The atmosphere and look of the restaurant are very nice and unexpected in the strip mall location. It is very loud however, so be prepared.
We started at the bar, where the service was inattentive. The bartenders were very  nice when they did notice us, but service was slowish. Also, my bar pet peeve - they filled the glasses by scooping them right into the ice bin, which is a huge no no. We were at the bar for 45 minutes and got one drink each.
After our friends arrived, we moved to a table and had a delightful waiter. We ordered appetizers ( Peaches & Mozzarella and Deviled Eggs ) which were served about 15 minutes later. Both tasty, but needed seasoning. Actually, everything that I tasted last night was under seasoned and needed a good dose of salt. Our entrees took about 25 minutes to arrive. I ordered a burger medium rare and received a really well done sandwich. I sent it back and didn't really think much of it as I know this kind of thing happens sometimes. Only problem is that I waited another 20+ minutes for the replacement and it was at least medium well. They did take it off our bill, but I was somewhat surprised that no one in management came over to talk to us.
Other entrees were tasty as reported by my companions. With so many good options in Greenville, we probably won't make returning here a priority.
Went for Sunday brunch with a large group. Â Must try the bloody mary bar! Â Had the yardbird chicken served over a biscuit with sawmill gravy and a egg on top. Â One of the best pieces of fried chicken I've ever had. Be sure to try the tater tots & pimento cheese fondu appetizer. Cool atmosphere, we will be back.
