TERRIBLE SERVICE. RUDE BOUNCERS. VERY UNORGANIZED BUSINESS.

I reserved the upstairs "VIP" room for my birthday & was promised a red carpet experience for me and my guests. It was no where near that at all. First off, they only allow 30 people in the vip spot so I had arranged to have 30 people pitch in. They wouldn't give me the vip bracelets, I had to point out every person who came that was in vip. Which meant chasing down the guy who was in control of the bracelets all night long as my guests arrived, who was most of the time no where to be found. No one was allowed up there by the bouncer  even with me saying they are in vip so at one point I waited with my guests at the end of the stairs for 20 minutes for bracelets. When I asked the bouncer to call him or find him he told me, "No you just have to wait." So while I am wasting my bday night of having fun with my friends I am running around all night doing this. Then the guy tells me I had 2 bracelets left. I used 1 of them and when I went to ask him for the last one he tells me I had none left! I said no, you told me I had 2 left and I used 1 now I have 1 left. He yelled no I gave you all your bracelets so you all need to figure that out on your own! Rude! I paid $360 for this damn vip room if I want one bracelet you are going to give me one! It's already paid for, what's the big deal? It's not like it's a damn buffet!

Then the bottle service. The girl drops off the bottle of sky vodka, which was not a magnum size bottle I might add, with the mixers and glasses then leaves without saying a word and never returned. My boyfriend ended up serving the drinks all night and we ran out of mixers and glasses and no one came to check up on us. He had to go to the kitchen to ask for more!

I told the owner about my experience and asked for my gratuity back since we did not get served and they shorted me a bracelet so I had to pay for that person's part! He offered to comp me a table in the future. I said no I will not come back I just want my gratuity back. No answer.

Thanks for ruining my birthday party Society!!! And taking my money!!!

This is my second review on this awesome club. I have been here before to pop in for dancing and good drink specials. But from my time when I posted before for a birthday gathering, and now for my experience last weekend. I felt the need to show some love on this place. Sure, you can get "VIP" at a couple other local venues and hear great music. But here, you really are VIP and the music has a switch up aside from the regular top 40. The communication from the staff, and welcoming of the staff is amazing, and how every place should be. Go to Chrome Lotus and you'll get tool heads out front and creepers all night. Here it's diverse, welcoming, and a good time the whole night through. I have not been able to attend any themed events yet such as neon night, etc. But I think it's great. Santa Rosa is growing and we're drawing more people in, esp at night. The owner and his team change it up, create fun events, and continue to be different. I celebrated my birthday this last Saturday March 16 for St Patty's Day. I could not have  asked for a better night or local place to spend it.  From the second we pulled up to decorate the VIP area, Mariah helped us right away and introduced herself hours before they were even open. Then we had the GM help us, and our server Katie was awesome all night. And Thaun stayed in touch with me 2 weeks prior to the night and just hours before. And of course the owner himself for setting this all up. If that's not good hospitality, I don't know what it is. It makes me laugh at the other reviews. Sure, there can be misunderstandings between people in loud places. Well, don't leave leave your jacket somewhere for x amount of time and assume the staff moved it. Yes the music is loud, hello it's a club!!!!!! Watch your alcohol intake before throwing negative Nancy's  everywhere. Society never disappoints. Whether you're there for a fun night out dancing or a big gathering.  Everyone is someone at Society.

I wish this place shuts down soon !! I am not the one who would give 1 stars but I've had the worst experience here after having the most perfect day on my husband's 30th birthday!!

We arrived here before 10 PM when there was hardly anyone other than us (we were a group of 8 people). We were seated on a couch. As music began playing after 10 PM, my husband left his coat (one of the gifts for his birthday) on the couch for like 15 mins and then my husband went back to get it- it wasn't there anymore. Since, there was hardly anyone other than us and a few other people sitting on a couch close to the dance floor, we assumed that the staff must have kept it aside to clear the area for people as it was post 10 PM.

3 of our friends wrapped up earlier than planned as they didn't like the music.

On our way back (after 1 hr, we didn't quite like the music), we inquired about the coat. The staff was EXTREMELY rude and condescending throughout the whole interaction. At which point we demanded that we manager talk to us. . The manager came in  and said that since there were too many people (frankly, I thought this place doesn't fill up easily given their pathetic service. The only reason I thought people would come to their dance club would be because there is parking garage right across.)

I highly suspect one of the staff members stole or misplaced our jacket. We told the owner we are not from Santa Rosa and were leaving back the next morning and need to find out about this right away. All we wanted was a GENUINE ATTEMPT at finding the coat. He put up a show that he was searching for it (for only 2 mins) and gave us a number that he said was his cell number and he would talk to us about it the next morning.. He lied- the number was of the dance club, we left a couple of messages the next day and no one returned our call.

I am appalled by the way they treated us!! Their staff was extremely rude through out...I don't want to bore you guys with all the details but don't go here on an important day. They may just spoil your day for you !!!

RUDE bartender in tough mudder costume (Halloween night) & never felt so insulted for nothing. Ordered a drink in his ear Bc music was loud. He flipped me off!! I was stunned. Did I really just have the bartender flipped me off? I apologized if I said it to loud & he flipped me off again. Floors are wet& dangerous.

Great bouncers and check in host. Bathroom wait not bad either.

Society is my first choice when the weekend rolls around for dancing. They play a great mix of oldies but goodies, mashups, and hits. My only real complaint is that drinks take about 20 minutes to order even with 3-4 bartenders working. Yeesh. There's also one snooty male bartender who (always) leans far back when you lean in to give your drink order. Maybe he has a reason for doing that, but you're in the wrong industry if that offends you, bud, and I don't like losing my voice because I had to scream "vodka soda" 10 times. Security is nice, and very plentiful! They must have like 10 guys working every Friday and Saturday and this is not a big place. I've had bottle service here a few times and while the servers weren't as attentive as I'm used to with bringing more red bull, juice, etc. the price was right, and I'd do it again. The location has gone through several owners and names, but I think they got it right this time, and it's only getting better! :)

I always have a blast at this place. I go every Thursday for their Sultry Salsa Nights! The staff is very friendly and we always have fun!

Absolutely rude. First time here with a group of ladies after a bachelorette dinner party and the bouncer announced the "rules" to us. "Rule number one, get your I.D.'s ready. Rule number 2, don't be a dick." I don't know where he thinks he had the right to talk to us like that, but it was unacceptable. I was ready to leave, but I walked inside to see what this place was about.

I can understand it's hard to keep a place looking new without changing the floor plan or construction, but it really is just a different photo and paint job. Rumor has it there has never been a new owner, who is suppose to own the restaurant and chrome. That would answer a lot of questions. Couldn't stand to be there for so long. I found it mortifying that men were walking in and out of the women's restroom as they pleased. So much for being courteous. No rush to get to that place again. Though I'll be sure to give the bouncer a piece of my mind if he tells me not to be a dick.

If you have connections, this place is legit. If you don't have connections, well you will still have fun. I have been here quite a few nights with a booth. Their all night bottle service is amazing! I have never encountered any rude staff here and have pretty much always had a killer time.

Showed up before 10pm this past Saturday with a group of 8 ladies for a bachelorette party...i think the owner or GM was there cuz he ushered us right in, set us up with a table, 2 free bottles of champagne, and a dessert.  No wonder...PLACE WAS EMPTY.  God damn.

It was fun having the place to ourselves for about a half hour before the place finally picked up (go after 1030pm!)  The DJ wouldn't take our song requests though, lame.  Since we could walk right up to the bar, it was great getting drinks pronto.  8 shots of Blueberry Kamikazi's were only $32, WOO!  Not too shabby.  My AVBC Summer Solstic was $5 i think and my Jameson/Coke was $7, yeesh.

Once the place picked up we lived it up on the dance floor til about 130am.  Grabbed a van cab right outside, woo whoo.  Fun place, I recommend for fun Saturday night dancing!

Hands down the only club I go to to in Santa Rosa, music is great, and varies by night(i.e. 1st Friday of the month is Neon Friday, an electronic music night, check their facebook for the nightly details).  The dress code is how it should be at a club, at bouncer discretion, which means that you gotta have a bit of style to get in.  If you're not sure about your style, dress more formal, if you think you have the style to rock some nice jeans and a fresh t-shirt, by all means give it a try... They are building their fan base by not letting just anyone and everyone in; this is them being smart.  Yes letting everyone in means the place is more "packed" and that they pour more drinks in the short term, but they would rather build a clientele of happy patrons who come in week after week, like myself.  If your a happy fun person and you think you fit the bill, by all means swing through, I wouldn't be caught dead at any other club venue in the area.

Absolutely love this place, I have never had any problems with any bad attitudes from any of the staff. The music, atmosphere, and drinks are always great! Out of all the clubs/bars in Santa Rosa this is by far the superior choice.

The club has dramatically improved under the new management.  Drinks are fabulous and the food is addicting...especially the grilled chicken chili with the peppered cornbread, also I must say the tacos are yummy too.

I am completely biased... I LOVE THIS PLACE. Hands down, thee premere venue in Santa Rosa. One of the few establishments I frequent in the area. The culture this house has created is unique & progressive. Providing recreation & entertainment for adults is challenging; Society offeres a variety of events that keep us S:nobs content.

'S:' has quickly become the hub for Rosa's Socialites. AMAZING DJ'S, limited fuglies, art, food, drink & dance. GTs.

I've been supporting this place under the new ownership since the opening night. I can honestly say since this club has been opened as club seven, rapture and the vine. Society: Culture House has by far been the best setup for this venue. The owner has taken a venue with his knowledge of great business sense and made it an amazing place to congregate with close friends, acquaintances and new friends I've made along the way.
Whether it be a night where he has singled handedly landed different artists to perform live such as YG, Jeremih and most recently the New Boyz, specialty DJ's or it has just been a night where resident DJ TonyTone and the owner himself spun it has been a great time. Although the perform shows may start later in the evening it gives you a chance to mingle and listen to the DJ's before the main event. It's just like going to a concert with a main headliner. Except to see those artists live would cost way more than a mere $15-$20.The accommodations as far as bottle service goes on the weekends have been more than hospitable, fairly priced and hostess service is the best I've experienced out of the other venues in the area.  The drink specials and prices are not only competitive with the other venues in the area but in some cases better and I haven't encountered a member of the bartender staff to be rude, slow or otherwise not know what they're talking about when it comes to any type of specialty drink I ask for. If you're not a fan of hip-hop music, there is a monthly electronic dance music party, Neon, which happens here on the first Friday of every month. Rock 'n' Roll Sunday School takes place every week Sunday night where DJ's spin  70's, 80's & 90's  rock and alternative music and it allows for new DJ's that want to experience with spinning to come in and showcase their skills with those genres. Wednesday night they bring in local artists for an "after the market" art show and allow you to have a creative space to create your own art and a chance to purchase any art you see as well. Thursday night has a reggae influence to it and a space for salsa dancing & lessons before that kicks off. There are themed parties, such as Ghoul's night out on this past Friday the 13th and most recently was the kickoff of the Gabriel Anthony Entertainment party this past weekend. On top of that, the food is bananas. It definitely deserves the category as a gastropub and anyone that dines with me knows exactly how big of a food snob I am.  I can't think of any other venue in the area that has such a variety to cater to its patrons.
Any night of the week you go to Society the owner is there meeting and greeting with everyone he gets the chance to and managing his business to ensure that everyone is accommodated and well taken care of, whether that be checking on his VIP tables himself, standing outside to greet people that are coming in from the line or just hanging out with the crowd. You can tell he genuinely cares about his patrons with a sweet and humble demeanor and makes sure that everyone is having the best time that they can have.
I've never had an issue with anyone in the building being unruly or aggressive towards me or my friends, which comes from the intelligent security guards out front crowd managing by weeding out overly drunk people, the dress codes that are enforced and the general upkeep of the crowd by ensuring anyone that seems to not have the knowledge of controlling their alcohol intake properly is asked to leave. It has been a huge improvement from the past owners of the building. Whether it's an intimate night with anywhere from 10-60 people in the building or it's packed full to maximum capacity I've always had a great time by the end of the night, heading home, falling asleep, ear drums ringing of great music played and memories made at this venue and I'm sure it will only get better.

    Do Not Go Here!
paid money to enter for a performance, around 12:45 the club got really hot inside and was very difficult to breath, when i asked to go outside to take a fresh breath of air they told me "no ins and outs"
i told them it is a health issue not to let anyone take fresh air because they have inadequate ventilation and if they don't i will be tempted to call the fire marshall. when they heard that the manager instructed the security to forcefully remove me from the walkway. (simply asking me to leave would have been enough) instead 3 security guards decided to show off their egos and push me out (assault and battery). i never got to see a performance. i am currently meeting with an attorney and making a formal complaint to the health department.
i can none make myself more clear, bad egos, bad management, sells a performance but dos not uphold their end, and I'm not even going to get started about how bad the bar service is.

Everyone up to management seems to be full of themselves here. They don't accept foreign passports, so forget trying to bring your out of town guests. Either that, or they just don't want illegal Mexicans coming in...serious mistake seeing as Chrome Lotus is packed on the weekends and this place is usually dead.

Also, I had to ask security more than once to ask a seriously unruly and out of control guest to leave.

    No phone, no website. Lame!

Open for seven months (where is the sign out front?) and it already is the same as all the previous. Nothing special so far, more of the same, ownership ego and fights from letting the wrong people in. Will they ever learn? The word on the street is that young Phillips aka Truthlive has a failsafe plan = (Daddy Knows Best)...The one time i went in for food, was actually very good!

    UPDATE: 12/5/12
Its getting better.....still no sign out front LOL....i would give it another star if they turned down the music. Impossible to order a drink from the dance floor side!! feel sorry for the bartenders. DRUGS everywhere!!

Yes... I am a regular when it comes to party hoppin'. I am here at least once or twice a week cause face it, dance music is the best! The crowd here is usually friendly but when it's a dead night here, it is NOT good. Place usually starts cracking around 11 or 11:30 but if it's not, try to get out of paying the cover :) The only downside to this place is that the venue its self is wayyyy too big for Santa Rosa. Awesome for nights when everyone is out (but that is not often). This place would be a 5 star if it were a bit smaller and my ears weren't bleeding after some nights partying here ;)
