I was excited to find a hookah lounge, and couldn't wait to get here. Once we got to Sol Luna, however, my mindset was instantly changed. The staff didn't really want to answer any of my questions, in fact they were downright rude a couple of times, but yet when my hubby asked talked to them, they were nice.
One of the previous posters mentioned the age group, oh my goodness, I am only in my mid-thirties, and I felt like I was ancient compared to these "kids"! A couple of the girls were dressed pretty hooker-ish, one had a skirt so short, I saw things I didn't need to see, if you catch my drift. And I love karaoke, but it seemed to be pretty monopolized by the "regulars" who only did one kind of music, and I doubt they would have been receptive to any changes, lol. Needless to say, we won't be going back.
P.S Â couple of things that I have tried since last review that I now love....food = chicken panini = absolute crack... Bread itself is delicious, freshly grilled chicken, mozzarella cheese and sweet peppers with mild or spicier(not spicy at all) sauce is absolutely delectable... try it with their fries (which are grilled) and are pretty damn delicious in their own right....i am waiting on them to finally introduce some deserts(which are sorely needed).
P.S 2 -KAVA - If you dont know what that is, you should do some research...the owner recommended trying their Kava mix with chocolate milk and I havent looked back...it definitely relaxes you and goes about as well as anything I have tried before with hookah.
The spot keeps getting better and better and outside of it being too loud for me at times(karaoke wednesdays for example) and even that might mean that I'm getting older and not an issue with the place, otherwise it's just flawless....service is impeccable.
Sol Luna is my new go-to hookah lounge in the area. The place caters to both casual smokers and more dedicated hookah afficianados. $10 grants you unlimited smoking of very high quality tobaccos (Social Smoke and Starbuzz). All hookahs come with ice tips free of charge, which cools the smoke for a smoother experience. It's a nice touch. The hookahs they have are well-maintained and smoke rather well.
Other perks include a kitchen with cheap eats, wifi, smoothies, teas, board games, and no corkage BYO. The owners have gone the inauthentic route and have replaced Middle Eastern frills with an alternative atmosphere including street art, multiple TVs, and ample, comfortable seating. My complaints occur when Sol Luna is busy: the service gets markedly slower, and the music can suck pretty badly. Also the place seems to attract a young, somewhat weird, "alternative" crowd, which isn't really my thing but is no fault of the place. I thus try to avoid it during peak hours, but otherwise Sol Luna is a solid option for hookah in the area.
If I had the option to give this place zero stars I would but unfortunately I'm forced to give it at least 1 star. This place is Terrible!...They have the WORST customer service I have ever seen, every employee there is completely incompetent, the waiters were extremely rude, and when I went to ask the owner some questions he gave me a dirty look the entire time. This place is complete B.S. I don't recommend this place to any1.
