Great sports bar atmosphere with a great food.  There are TV screens everywhere, lots of baseball memorabilia (it is owned by former MLB pitcher and SF Valley man Jeff Suppan) and the staff are on top of their game.   They always have events going on for big games, and of course the bar just what you would expecet from a sports bar.  Great place, go there all the time for games with friends/family.

I love the vintage memoribilia all over the restaurant! I came for lunch with a friend, but I feel this place would be an amazing spot to watch a game. Deffinitely will be coming back when the NBA season starts up again!

I had moved to the area and was looking for a place I could become a "regular". After much trial and error I finally found my spot. It has really good bar food, a nice selection of beers, fantastic happy hour, cool sports memorabilia on the walls, and bartenders who are friendly and make a mean rum and coke. Keep up the good work Soup's!

Went to see the Clippers game on Friday. 8 TVs in the dining area and the wait staff was great about ensuring everybody got the games they wanted to watch on a close TV.  Food was average to good depending on what the three of us got, the prices fair but the drink I ordered just fair and seemingly light on liquor.  Depending on whom I was with and location I would return.

I was enjoying my BBQ Chicken salad luntil I found a big bug in it (search photos to see it.  NASTY!).  The staff was kind and took it off the bill, but it's safe to say I won't be returning here.

If you like local sports bars with great staff, this is a nice friendly place to hang out.
But if getting what you've been promised matters then you may choose differently. I love this place because everyone is so nice and friendly. My problem is that the rewards program has changed multiple times and that I would expect the establishment would honor the free meals that you earned on the last program. Since they don't have any intension of doing that, I won't be going because I might get something for being loyal anymore. I'll visit because I like the staff and the food is decent. I'm disappointed that I feel like a sap.

You know why I love this place? Besides the great food, sports atmosphere and awesome service...the owner is here and actually takes the time to say hello. Jeff Suppan is the owner, former MLB pitcher and a damn good one too. He could just let someone else run this place for him and mail it in...but no, he is here ALL the time and is the nicest guy. As a business owner myself, I truly appreciate the fact that he mans the place and gives it a nice personal touch. This place is awesome and I would highly recommend it.

A nice local bar in Woodland Hills. Great place to watch the games. They have a lot of big screen TVs everywhere.  Food could get a little better. I wasn't a big fan of their nachos. Get there early before a big game, it could get packed quick.

if youre a guy this is probably an awesome place to go. very sports oriented & lots of attractive girls work here.

if youre a girl..dont expect good service..or service at all for that matter. i am a kings fan so naturally i go to this bar to watch the games with my guy friends who are also kings fans & every single time whether im with one other person or several i get completely ignored while everyone else around gets smiles & hooked up. ive worked in the food service industry for years so out of all my friends i'm the biggest tipper but since i cant get so much as a freakin slider at this place..well its their loss.

its really a shame because i love hockey & the environment could be really great if the servers/bartenders there werent so incredibly rude to me every time. but im sure for you men out there its fantastic as long as you dont mind overpriced food&drinks

Definately like the ambience of this place.  Had great service for the many times we've come here; especially the time when we droved just to drop by and have an "Irish Car Bomb".  Food is great and beer has always been cold.  The only thing I don't like is parking.  If parking was more accessible I'd come here more often.  But overall experince has always been great.

Great place to watch football, TVs alongside both walls , good food and beer. New spot for me to watch any game I want and enjoy the company of true football fans

The food was decent, the beer was pricy - this was during happy hour, too.  Non-happy hour prices are way higher and the food doesn't get any better.  There are better sports bars that are less expensive and offer better food.

I've been living in Woodland Hills for over 2 years and I finally popped into Soup's to use my Groupon.  And I'm glad I did!  The decor of this place is awesome!!! Talk about a sports bar - they have TVs everywhere and an actual dugout you can sit.  Plus they have 2 giant-sized baseball glove armchair made out of leather.  Fortunately for us, these were the only open seats for MNF which we were happy to take.  We got chicken wings and a french dip sandwich.  The food was your typical bar food and was up to par.  My bf ordered Magic Hat beer which is very hard to find on the west coast so he was happy.  The beers are reasonably priced and there's a good selection.  I'd like to comeback and try the breakfast during a Sunday morning football game so I can compare to The Rack... Updates coming soon!

    Not for veg heads.

I have been here four times. The lunch special is always a good option and this place is always a lively spot to take in any sports game. I especially enjoy coming here for football on Sunday. The staff is friendly and attentive. The other patrons are mostly friendly but there can be the occasional character everyone wishes stayed home.

For breakfast I have sampled the breakfast burrito and veggie omelet in the morning and both were tasty.

I love Soup's. I've been there a few times and the service has always been excellent.

The decor is really fun. In the bar area, you can sit in a lowered dugout as you face the bar. There's also a ton of sports memorabilia on the walls, primarily those that are owned by or relate to owner Jeff Suppan. (I remember watching Jeff Suppan when he was at Crespi and he was phenomenal. Glad to see he's had a good MLB career.)

The parking lot in back is a bit small but there should be parking along Ventura Blvd.

I'd recommend going here for food, drinks and especially to watch a sports event.

Came here with the hubs for an impromptu lunch date. The place isn't very big - but even in the middle of the day that joint was jumpin'! I was a little worried as the place was busy and there appeared to be only one server and someone helping her out a bit. I was happy to see that even though she was obviously busy she did an awesome job of giving quick service while being really nice and happy.

I ordered the Turkey Burger with Fries off of the lunch special menu. (It came with a soft drink for $8.95) The fries were pretty tasty, which if I am going to be bad and eat fries they better be! The turkey burger was fresh and tasty, and didn't feel "heavy" like some turkey burgers can do!

Husband got a Turkey Melt with Potato Salad, also on the lunch special for $8.95 with a soft drink. Just so I could write a balanced review I tried his out. The Turkey Melt had caramelized onions that were really good. The potato salad was as good as my Mom's, which is saying a lot.

They have a Happy Hour Menu with food items for $4, $5, $6 that were pretty much basic Sports bar food. (Chicken Tenders, Onion Rings, Cheese Pizza) They also had well drinks for $3, specialty drinks for $5 and various beer specials. Just wanted to include that info in case someone was searching for a Sports Bar Happy Hour in the area.

Really enjoyed the food and service, will definitely be back!

This was a fun place to watch the Kings eliminate the Vancouver Canucks in the playoffs. It was packed with Kings fans and there were televisions with sound all over the place! I just suggest getting here early enough because the first time we attempted it, we couldn't not get anywhere to sit. Things worked out the second time though, and the staff did not give us any hassle over staying to watch the entire game.

Food is your typical bar food, but they have a happy hour menu (sliders, wings, etc.) They have a happy hour menu, and that worked out perfectly with the start time of the game.

Overall, this was a fun place to watch the game and I'm glad I got to check it out!

If you're a hockey fan, Soups is the officially watch party bar in the Valley.  Came here to watch the Stanley Cup playoffs to root for the LA Kings and was very happy to see many fellow Valley Kings fans there.

Soups is not very big but has enough TV. screens to choke a horse.  The bar area is small but nicely decorated.  Have plenty of beers on tap to wet your whistle.  There is a very narrow seating section right off the bar.

Happy hour specials available every weekday night and as an added plus, if you're a Kings or Ducks fan, you'll get happy hour specials all night if you wearing your anything showing off your team spirit.

Soups serves the usually bar & grill type of food: burgers, sandwiches, pizzas, soups & salads, plus your typical greasy appetizers.  I had the veggie personal pizza but it was just okay.  Not really bursting with veggies and the pie was disappointingly bland.  It looked like it can use a few more minutes in the oven.  Food prices are competitive to other restaurants along the boulevard.  Service was okay on such a busy night; the server was nice enough and allowed us to park for a few hours at the table while watching the game.

Parking can be a nightmare especially on game nights.  Very small parking lot in the back...a mecca for door-dings and fender-benders.  Unless you want to perfect your valet parking skills, you'd be much better off parking on the street.

Overall Soups is a cool place to hang and watch the games.  Wide range of menu items and plenty of TV. monitors to watch virtually anything.  Ideally located on Ventura Blvd. and close to everything.

Food is not so great, it's all deep friend without much flavor.

THE perfect place to watch The Kings take the Stanley Cup home!!!

Went here for the first time the other night and thoroughly enjoyed all the hometown hype!  The place was packed with Kings fans; such a thrill!  There are TV's everywhere and enough excitement to fill the room.

The buffalo wings are delish, as is the beer.  The veggie wrap was so-so.  The ambiance is a little chintzy but overall appealing.  Can't wait to watch the rest of the series here....

Gotta give the neighborhood sports bar a shout!  I love Soups!  It's got a really casual, down-to-earth atmosphere...not pretentious, just a place for folks to hang out and watch the game.  The food is on the good side and they have a great menu selection.  Of course, there are your typical sports bar deep-fried appetizers on the menu but they also have some nice salads, sandwiches and comfort food style entrees.

The staff there is super friendly and make you feel like part of the crew.  Bartenders mix great drinks as well.  It's just a cool spot to hang out after work for happy hour or to have a casual dinner.  No bells and whistles...it's just right.

    not worth it.
First off... they never have enough servers when they are busy.
They used to have a great night with wing and beer specials...but once they got a loyal customer base on that night they jacked up the prices and stopped the specials...Not good business! The food is OK at BEST
They also close at random times...even when the place is packed. I have been in there when it is really busy and they will have last call at 9:45pm. What bar closes at 10pm or even before Midnight for that matter! Seriously Soup's...stay open if you want to make money.
Unless you have no other options.....go elsewhere

the only good thing about this place is the amount of TVs they have playing multiple games

Soup's is a great  place to eat your burgers and fries while catching a game on TV. It has a great, clean, environment and a friendly staff.

I love going to Soup's to watch the Los Angeles Kings lose games but as long as you're wearing your jersey, you can get happy hour prices which counteracts the anger I feel from watching the game.

As this establishment is owned by a MLB player, the baseball theme is fun but not a deterrent to non-sports fans. The bar feels like a baseball dugout and they have a pretty good variety of spirits.

Street parking is available but may be tough to find on weekends and evenings due to other local businesses. They have a small lot in the back but it fills up quick.

Overall, Soup's is a fun place and it's always nice to gather some friends to catch a game!

Came here for dinner with my husband and our almost 2 year old. We had come here when they first opened and weren't too impressed, so we hadn't been back since. Last night, we were wanting some burgers, wings and fries so we decided to give it another shot.

Parking was easy and we were quickly seated. There were a bunch of sports games on the TVs (which made for a happy husband) but they weren't loud, which was nice. It was still happy hour, so we were able to order appetizers from the HR menu.

We got the wings appetizer, I got the chicken philly cheese sandwich, my husband got the pulled pork and we ordered a grilled cheese for our son. All of the food was really good, especially my sandwich and the wings. Also, our waitress was super friendly and attentive.

Towards the end of the night, the owner came over to our table, introduced himself and said hello. That was a really nice personal touch which we really liked!  Also, they gave our son an autographed baseball card (autographed by the owner, Jeff Suppon.)

This place is great and it's very child friendly. Will be going back!

I came here a few years ago right after their feature on FSN and they were open.

I've been 2-3 times and it's always been empty, but I've come in during the day, so that's why I'm not complaining - because I've had the pick of the dugout or the baseball glove seat haha.

I really loved the Philly Cheesesteak. BEST I've had EVER!

I don't drink beer, and that's the only alcohol they serve, but the other food I've tried was solid too. Although I can't recall what I ordered because it's been so long.

Overall, nice sports restaurant/bar. Although too many Brewers/Cards stuff and I'm a Chicago Cubs fan.

Soup's is a great sports bar.

Tons of TV's all tuned to sports line the walls - Lots of awesome sports memorabilia too (the restaurant is owned by Major League pitcher Jeff Suppan).

Large selection of beers - some on tap.

My daughter and I come here on dates : )  There are two gigantic chairs shaped like a catcher's mit that we always sit in - she LOVES it.

We were here today and the owner came in with his family - my daughter was stoked to get her picture with him!  Very nice guy.

Try the philly cheesesteak sandwich - good stuff.  Of course my kid gets the Mac & Cheese (what's new?) and gobbles it down - the kids meal comes with Ice Cream at the end - perfect!

Super cool staff - everyone was very friendly.

My fiance and I headed to Soup's Grill after our recent move to to the Valley. There is a serious lack of sports bars in the area and Soup's seemed to be the best option.

The place has enough tv's- but none over 42". They do play all the games and the waitress was nice enough to change a couple of the channels so we could watch the games we were most interested in. The beer selection is pretty descent and with the happy hour prices they aren't too bad.

I cant talk about the main menu but the happy hour menu wasn't too shabby. Try the chicken tacos- you can't beat them for $4.

Also, there is parking in the back for 7 cars. If you come too late you have to park on the street.

The Best part about Soups? THEY PLAY ALL THE GAMES!!!!!! :D My boyfriend is a HUGE Oregon Ducks fan & Portland Trail Blazers fan (He's from OR). I, on the other hand, follow the Packers!!! (Dad's side of family is from WI) and the Lakers. Soups is GREAT for watching the non-local games!

The service is on par, I haven't had bad service yet. The food is ok. It's super American - philly steak sandwiches, fries, wings, etc. I haven't been to a happy hour yet, we always miss it b/c we like to eat late haha but we have utilized their Yelp special where you "check-in" and get your second pitcher for free or something like that.

Cool spot, pretty mellow and great for watching your team if you can't get the game at home :)

Yayyy to LA for having a hockey bar! Given my experience with large cities that have multiple sports franchises (that experience being "San Francisco"), I know that hockey usually takes a backseat to baseball or football-- or in LA's case, basketball.

Enter Soup's. Yes, a sports bar, but one that recognizes the greatness that is the NHL. I came here for Game 5 of Sharks/Kings, and had a great time despite being the only person in teal.

Get here early, the seats were filled by about 30 minutes before puck drop. There are about 10 TVs total, and two rooms. The food was a bit pricey ($19 pitchers, ~$10 appetizers), but a big step up from bar food. The pizzas take 20 minutes to bake so prepare for a wait.

They have about 10 beers on tap. Off the top of my head: Fat Tire, Heffeweizen, Stella, Guinness, Blue Moon, Coors Light, Bud Light, and Kilkenny. I'm pretty sure the Guinness and Kilkenny don't come in pitchers.

Who designed this restaurant!!!??  Soups should be a model of what not to do.  There were only a few people in the restaurant and yet I could hardly hear the bartender or waitress.  Every surface in the is place is glass, cement or paint.  The men's room is the poorest design I've ever seen.  When you open the door everyone in the bar area can see a man urinating!  I've never seen such gross under-engineering.  Somewhere builders and designers forgot that restaurants are going to be filled with people and acoustics need to be engineered into the design.

My suggestion to Soups is to pack the open space in the ceiling with vertical sheets of black foam.  The foam will absorb the sound and never be seen.  Also, remove the glass covering the baseballs in the bar.  The baseballs could absorb a lot of sound if they weren't covered in glass.

One more suggestion; For charity - charge $25 or $50 for anyone to sign one of the baseballs and redisplay them.  It'll bring people back in, make money for charity and those balls aren't doing anything but collecting dust anyway.  I'm sure people would love to point out their signed baseball to their family and friends.  I estimate there are 1500+ balls which at $25 donation each could be $39,000+ raised for charity!

Oh yeah, please do something about that bathroom!  Put a partition between the door and the urinal so the waitresses don't have to look at the urinal every time they walk by.

I met friends here for a drink, so I can't review the food.

Our waitress was very friendly, courteous and fantastic, when we could hear what each other were saying ...

Great happy hour! 4-7PM and late hh 7-10. Not sure about how it works on weekends. Their happy hour menu consists of $4 bites (small pizza, sliders (4), tacos, wings, cheese sticks.) 1/2 off drinks = $4 specialty drinks AND ... wait for it.... $2.50 well drinks!! How can you beat that? The food is decent - the pizza could be better but pizza is hard to mess up. The sliders and the cheese sticks are delish!!!  I haven't tried the other stuff.

The place is pretty cool. Especially since the bf and I can walk to it! I really like the baseball wall at the bar! Good place to go watch a game!

They also have specials for yelpers, including those that check in!! :)

Joined some friends in wishing one of our colleagues best of in relocating to another state.

It's a decent spot for bar food, but nothing worth going out of your way for. We had wings, fries, and basically anything you can think of for happy hour.

Parking is close to impossible (parking in the rear, but really cramp and good luck finding a spot).

I wouldn't say I would never come back, but then again, with other places to eat around here, why make this your first choice?

A really nice sports bar if you aren't wanting to be in a crowded pub during the games. The flat screens are positioned all around at a comfortable viewing angle, the service is great, the beer selection ok, and tons of fried food to choose from. The salads are huge, we split one 3 ways and all left full!

Parking is ok in the back, metered on the street. The crowd is older white, and with kids, but overall it was a cool little spot.

Good place to watch a game, great prices, and friendly local bar feel.

We went for happy hour where draft beers are $3, bottle buds $2, with select appetizers at $4. We ended up ordering a pitcher for $11, some wings, potato skins, and sliders. What a deal!!!

So how was the food? The wings were great! Tangy and spicy. Potato skins and sliders were pretty basic but good.

The atmosphere is where my potential 4 star moves to a 3. Games are on - check, not just baseball - check, music is pumping - uh oh!
No music??? We were kind of listening to a preseason football game. Now I'm a HUGE sports fan of any kind, but preseason football does not need audio. If this was a big game or even a regular season game put on the audio, otherwise pump some music and get this Friday night party moving a bit. Worst of all you couldn't even hear the announcers it was just some muffled noise in the background.

The rest of the menu looked like a typical sports bar menu, but again the prices were all very reasonable. I don't think there was anything over $12.

Service was friendly and prompt. The set up of the bar was inviting, well kept and new.

If there is a game I want to watch with the potential of having to listen to the boring audio I'll be back, but after a long week and on a Friday I'll pick a place with more energy and music.

Cheap prices and friendly atmosphere make for a decent place to get some drinks.

I like the concept of the place. There are the bench seats outside, the bullpen-esque seats in the bar, and the huge catcher's mitt table in the restaurant, not to mention all the baseball memorabilia throughout the place.  The vibe of the place is very much like Cheers in the sense that everyone seems to know each other; everyone's friends with the owners it seems.  Now, this doesn't take away from an "outsider's" experience, but it does make one wonder what they're missing.

Soup's finally has a full bar, but the beer prices are pretty good, so we stuck with that. During happy hour, you can get Budweiser bottles for 2 bucks, $1 off draft beer, and $4 select appetizers.  Got two pitchers of Bud LIght (at 11 dollars each) and shared some hot wings, potato skins, and sliders.  Wings are surprisingly good, potato skins were decent, and the sliders were much better than I expected. A bit dry though, get some ketchup/mustard.

On the tvs were two different baseball games and a preseason football game. Over the speaker, you could barely hear the football game. In the restroom, you can hear some pretty rockin music. I suggested to one of the servers to hook up the music in the bar, since you can't really hear any of the games anyway. He said people would be in an uproar. Oh well.

When will bars learn that to really get a good word of mouth, you gotta have music?  I"m seriously gonna start bringing a flask (you never know) and a little boom box everywhere I go from now on.

Local boy does good.  First I should say the owner is a family friend, so I disclose that the following review may contain a minor bias.  The place is owned by a Mr. Jeff Suppan formerly of the Kansas City Royals, AZ D-Backs, Boston Red Sox, St. Louis Cardinals, (where he won the World Series) Milwaukee Brewers, etc.

Met up with my girlfriend there for lunch. The set up is pretty basic, lot of warm wood grained look to the interior.  Comfortable, not fancy.  The Appetizers were good.  Regular bar type finger foods, easy to not mess up.  My club sandwich was also pretty good.  My girlfriend ordered a veggie wrap thing which was really good.  The vegetables were grilled and wrapped up in a warm flour tortilla with melted cheese.  That alone she said, would be reason enough for going back.  (she's big on vegetable cuisine.)  They had a decent selection of unique beers.  Only thing, the waitress didn't seem to know much about them.  She may have been new.  Didn't phase me too much since I wasn't feeling like a drinking lunch.

Definitely would go back.  Unpretentious, clean spot where what you see and expect seems to be just what you get.  Big up to you Jeff!

Soup's is definitely a great place to watch a game, no matter what sport. From football to hockey, they'll put anything on for you. They certainly have enough screens in there to keep everyone happy.

It can get fairly packed and loud on Sundays for the NFL, but that's all part of the fun.

Good selection of beers, and pretty good pricing on them as well.

The food serves its purpose as well. Don't come here expecting anything overly fancy. Stick to the samplers and finger foods. Some of the sandwiches are good as well, but pricier than one would like.

It says there's a time limit on the tables to prevent people from just sitting around all day, but I have yet to see it enforced.

Great for groups or just grabbing a beer with a buddy. Sit back, order up a pitcher (no pun intended, Mr. Suppan), and enjoy the game!
