Hookah's not bad but it doesn't last long. Also during the weekends if you don't buy a bottle, have a table out front or in the outside area expect to smoke at the bar. So if you're not getting a table don't even bother its very awkward and uncomfortable. Drinks are good though and its a diverse selection.

No cover, and there's a DJ during the weekend but the music selection is a hit or miss.

This place kind of sucks for a lot of reasons. A lot of pretentious Dbags go here for one but that's not really the lounge's fault, just an observation. The hookah is pretty good but the drinks are watered down and everything is overpriced. The staff is the absolute worst. They don't pay ANY attention to what's going on. Our waitress noticed us sitting down after 15 minutes of us being there and said "I'll come right back to see you." If by right back she meant never come back then she did an excellent job because 20 minutes went by and she went passed us about 15 times before another waitress noticed us getting ready to leave and helped us. That's just not acceptable you can't be THAT empty-headed to not remember you haven't served a table that has nothing in front of them but their menus for over half an hour. If I never see this place again I'd be happy.

Good music and atmosphere. Sometimes it's hard to get the waitress attention to get another drink but overall a good time! I would refer them to my friends and go back.

    1. Wines and Spirits AKA Spirit Lounge has the great Hookah!!  I can't deny that.

    2. I've been a loyal customer for the past 4 years and to be honest, the service has gone from bad to the absolute worst.  As they continue to expand they hire "anyone" of the street.  Our last server barely spoke english and couldn't recommend drinks, etc.

Spirit Lounge, you have a great product, perfect location.....alot of potential.  You are your own worst enemy.  Focus on your rebuilding your staff....like right now.

My experience here has always been during the day, to watch the Ticket.  I'm all for supporting minority owned businesses, but this complex has ridiculous service ethic.

We were the only ones there and ordered plenty of beers and food.  When I asked for water, the server tried to hard sell me bottled water.  Really?  No thank you.

Lame. Wanna be at best. Place used to be somewhat tolerable, but now it is repulsive. The only reasons they are still in business are the fact they are attached to a liquor store and have hookahs.. Otherwise that place would be with the Muscle Maker grill of Edgewater... Out of business!

I really only like this place for the hookahs ($20 for regular or $25 for exotic grade).  Might as well go with the exoctic grade choices are better.  Its good to come hang out for a couple drinks and to smoke otherwise go somewhere else.  They are never too accommodating, service is either rude or lacking.

This place used to be nice and chill when it was simply part of the wines & spirits experience... now they are turning into some snooty joint that I really don't care for...

I've been going here for years and I think last night's experience just left a very bad taste in my mouth.  They have whole new crew working here from the bartenders, wait staff, and even bouncers who are all "A" class a*sholes.

I was stopped at the door last night by the bouncers and they told us that we could not get inside.  I asked why and he said that we just couldn't.  And then when we probed, he said that because we were too drunk. I asked for the manager since he has seen me in there millions of times.  The manager said that he has never seen me.  I couldn't believe what was happening.  Then he obviously let group of young girls go inside.  I've never been treated like this anywhere and never been rejected at the door at any clubs.  I was dressed in my business attire with dress shirt, pants and shoes.  So it wasn't my outfit.

You have to wait so long just to get couple of drinks, food and hookah.  The wait staff never pays any good attention to you.  The food quality is sub par and the menu is boring.  Don't order anything other than french fries, sliders, and hummus.  Everything else is pretty blend and tasteless.

I guess I'll be going to NY more often or other hookah lounges.

    SO DISAPPOINTED!

Just left this place and can say I am not in a happy mood and ended up at houlies.  Was asked 3 times for my ID, mind u there were a handful of people in the room and the back room wasn't even open yet.  After we were sat and asked if any drink specials were available our waitress snatched the menu out of my hand and showed me the "specialty drinks" in the menu. O_o.   Hookah was an astonishing $20 for low grade, absolutely no flavor hookah.  Drinks decently priced. Hummus wayyyy too salty with paper thin pitas. With all said and done we asked for our check which took 25 mins cuz apparently our waitress couldn't handle the 3 tables she had. We receive the check and ask for our card that we had given here in the beginning and she specifically said " I give u the card after u pay me!". How rude!!  How about you teach your waitresses some customer service and listening skills maybe she would have heard "just charge the card" rather than waste your money on the 15 bouncers u don't need.  If u want some awesome hookah with great food go to LA ZIZA in Clifton!!!!!

This is a fun lounge to come and hang out at with friends.  The music is usually good and the hookah is great!  This place is NOT what you would expect for being in the back of a liqour store but I must say, given the right people, you are sure to have a good time.

This place is one of the few places for hookah on the NJ side of the Hudson River that I am aware of.  AND they do it well....especially the charcoal guy....he knows the secret to the perfect coal. As for the decor...not bad, as for the service....decent, and as for the prices....good. I didn't purchase anything on the packaged goods side, but they seemed to have a very large selection of wine, beer and liquor.

Came here to go to hookah bar.  was turned away at the door for wearing khakie shorts on a 90 degrees night.  Go figure....
small little hooka bar in edgwater has strict dress code.
Turn away good looking ppl not dressed correct and let in ugly ppl with proper attire... what has this world come too...
Ended up hitting up their liquore store, which had a very nice cashier, and good selection, and headed over to BYOB hooka down the block.

my response last night was... "WTF!"
If I could give a zero star rating I would!

We got there at 930.. sat outside because the weather was nice
waitress comes over, takes our drink order... about 30 minutes later after 3 apologies we get our drinks and these weren't complicated drinks to put together! 1 Heineken Lite, 1 Jack and Diet Coke did they have to fly to Holland to get my beer? or did they just forget because they were too busy with the 2 tables inside? anyways... i let that slide thinking from that point on it would get better.

Then we decide to order Hookah (obviously) because lets be honest why else would I go there? that takes another 30 minutes because the waitress forgot to tell the "new hookah guy" our order and kept pushing the blame onto him saying he didn't get a ticket or something.
Then the hookah comes out and they're not burning right or not enough coals.
So basically at this point.. im aggregated because I drove about 30 min to get to this place and it was a disaster from the get-go.

Shortly after we called for the check which we still paid for in full eventhough we barely smoked. oh and we shared one plate of Labneh (which btw was terrible) Sour cream and olive oil I coulda done a better job at home lol
oh and BTW... I WENT ON A DEAD DEAD DEAD WEDNESDAY NITE!
there were 2 tables inside and 2 outside (one being us)
so not busy what so ever there should have been quick service.

And the hookahs expensive I dont know how they get away with their scam. a double apple is $25 bucks haha

so to finalize.. if your looking for a nice relaxing night with your girl by the water.. goto the Charthouse and bring two cigars The End

caveat: I went on a weeknight!

Seems like the hiccup about this place is the service.  Our service was phenomenal.  But I'm pretty sure its because we went on a weeknight and the place definitely was not packed.

Thought the food was good, drinks were great, and the coal guy for the hookah was clutch.

The music outside is turned off, when the dance floor opens up which was pretty annoying.

Liked the layout: comfortable inside with TV screens for games and outside when the weather is nice.

The service here is absolutely terrible.

Why do people come here?  Every time I come here, I'm always looking around for someone to wait on us.  I have to approach one of the managers and ask them to call over a waiter.  It's annoying that this place gets away with piss poor service like this.

Last time I was here, they took my credit card to open a tab -- apparently a new mandatory policy.  At the end of the night, they realized they gave my credit card to the wrong person.  So after two days, they call me and tell me that the person came back to return the credit card.  I had to drive all the way back here to pick up my card.  They apologized, but then proceeded to charge me full price for my tab from the night before.  I don't mind paying, but if I screwed up and caused a customer to waste time, gas, and tolls to come over because of their mistake, I would at least have comped one drink.

I'm sure this bad experience with the credit card was unique to me (and the other person who took my card).  If you're looking for a hookah place in this area, you're limited to this place.  It's cheaper in the city on St. Marks, but if you're Jersey, I guess you're stuck with this.  During the summers, you can sit outside with your drink, hookah, cigarettes, etc. while watching the ghetto people drive by, back and forth, trying show off their ghetto rides.  Just prepare yourself for terrible service.

Not a bad place to chill after a days work. Come here mostly for the hookah and beer, crowd is always mixed, some nights they're older, some nights they're more hood, best to go with your own crowd and lounge.

They blast music and have a dj, wish they didn't and kept the environment chill/cool, but different strokes for different folks, right?

Last time, it took me close to an hour for a table, so -1 star for that. They have a horrible system on tables, but they try, and they have extra outdoor seating during the warmer days. Their prices are pretty damn good too. $4 for the regular beers. I probably spend more on the hookah and from tipping the guy bringing coals.

I like the spot, so I give them 4 stars. You can dance if you're feeling it, or just sit back and relax.

Don't know why I keep coming to this place.. Maybe cause it's the only hookah bar in the area.  The service is piss poor at best. Makes you feel like you are bothering the waitress for a drink. If you have cash and half a brain open up a hookah bar in the area and have halfway decent waitresses and you would still kill them.
