I called and checked their website about age restrictions.... after being verified it was OK before 10, I made the 1 hour trip to get turned away and deal with drunk people. Thanks Miss 18 year old running the front. I hope you don't quit your day job.. .oh wait.. that probably is your only job.
OH! and if you call to talk to the management... the recording asks you to press 1 so you can leave a message that will obviously never get heard!
The place is great. We all had a great time, but the bartender/waiter by the pool tables was terrible. He brought the first round of drinks and disappeared. 2 people on my table got tired of waiting and went to the main bar to buy drinks, twice! Eventually I decided to do the same. He never picked up any of the empty glasses and he gave us an attitude when --before anyone even ordered-- we let him know we would be having separate checks. He brought one check at the end...There's a lot to like about this place and before we started playing pool we sat in a different area by the main bar and the service there was excellent. The loaded fries were excellent too. This particular guy serving by the pool area, either had way too much ground to cover by himself, somewhere other than the pool tables area, or he is just a terrible server. Either way, no tip and we all left earlier than we would have.
Review Source:Had a great experience. A bit of a wait for a sunday but we didn't mind. Sat at the sushi bar with Matt as my server. Really attentive. Very reasonable prices for bowling. Lanes a little close together but we got used to it. Great key lime martini. Surprisingly good sushi. Totally unexpected from a bowling place. Can't wait to try out sushi Thursdays, sushi for $5. There are also $2 games on Tuesdays.l We had a great time.
Review Source:Really cool vibe. Not a huge fan of the lanes though, they are really small and cramped. I felt like our group didn't have room to just chill in between turns, everyone was in everyones way all the time. Now, they're food is amazing, drinks are normal. The games are about $6 and shoes $4 so it's not too steep compared to Strike! Overall a really good vibe and the music they were playing made me just want to dance instead of bowl.
Review Source:Been twice. Â Second time I didn't bowl, just ate. Â Me and my crew were checking out the place for a possible upcoming office event.
I have to say that the food here is really good! Â The chicken tenders are delicious. Â The fries are perfect and served in a fancy thingy (don't judge me!), with this tasty white dipping sauce with herbs. The quesadillas were ok for me but my crew raved about them. Â Caesar salad very crisp and tasty. Â But. The. Sushi. Â Oh. My. God! Â It was out of this world delicious. Â And those words don't come out of my picky mouth easily. Â
I highly recommend this place but I warn that it is a bit pricey. Â But the place is gorgeous, the staff is friendly, and the food is worth it. Â So go!
Oh, and the food was on the house (well, some of it: for taste testing).
They advertise policies they don't follow and staff waiters that don't wait on you. I wish I could give zero stars....
We were told over the phone that they did not take reservations, so we showed up, put our names on the list and started ordering drinks. 10 minutes after we got to our lanes, we were told we had to move because those lanes had been reserved two weeks prior. (At a cost of $85.) Since no other lanes were available, we had to sit at a group of tables FACING the lanes we had just been kicked out of and watch as the other party happily set up. We later had to carry our OWN PLATES and drinks to our new lanes, and even had a difficult time getting shoes for those members of our party that hadn't arrived, since you can't reserve those either.
It was well over an hour before we even got started, and more than once did we have to leave our lanes and walk to the bar because our waiters were MIA. We were paying for services we were repeatedly denied. The only positives: sliders were good and the mixed drinks decently strong.
Even though Bird Bowl is gritty and old with no waiters, after spending $200+ dollars in drinks and being treated so poorly, I'd rather gritty and old than have my expectations lowered and guests upset.
First of all, congrats on a business finally staying in this location past the 6-month mark!
Okay, okay, so maybe some places have stayed slightly longer than that, but Splitsville basically took over a part of the Sunset Place mall that used to be two separate revolving businesses (Scorpico, Old Navy, that guitar store...etc...) and they have now been there occupying the space of two store locations for quite a while and they offer a great experience.
#1 - All the game places in the mall charge luxury prices - Splitsville actually delivers on the luxury aspect. Excellent service (Had two bad experiences with one particular female bartender placing her enormous boobs on every flat surface of the bar, making me, my family and my friends REALLY uncomfortable--- but other than that, all the service has been great.)
#2 - Sushi here is AMAZING. You would not think that a bowling alley would have such spectacular food, but aside from the hot menu, which is actually really good and upscale as well, the sushi is excellent here! They have several restaurants in South Miami dedicated to sushi, and I still find the sushi to be best here.
#3 - The management is really on top of things. Every time I have been here, some form of management has stopped by my table to check up and make sure all is okay. Even if it was only for 15-30 seconds, this means a lot. Kudos on the above and beyond customer service, management!
I will definitely continue to go back here over and over and over...
Bored on a weeknight? Looking for something to do that's fun? Go bowling. But don't just go bowling, go Splitsville Bowling!!!
This place is great. Week day and night deals, happy hour specials and a great space that will have you coming back for more. Some times the specials that are displayed once you get there are much better than the ones that are posted on the website. So hey, give it a whirl. Its a weeknight, start early, have a great time, get home in plenty enough time for a great night sleep to get you ready for the next day at work. It's a no brainer.
The cashier, Debbie (our server), the lane mechanic, and the rest of the staff were simply great.
I remember going to the bowling alley back home when I was a teenager with the stale cardboard pizza and flat sodas. But the food at this place is amazing. The best thing on the menus has to be the SWEET POTATO FRIES W/ MARSHMELLO DIP on the side. Â They are simply divine. Â They have drink and food specials, yet they change daily.
The bowling itself is pretty great too. The game scoring screens are very user friendly. No need to be a gamer or a tech head to be able to use it. Just type in your bowling super hero name and the next thing you know your bowling STRIKES the rest of the night.
Now I am not going to tell you all the special pricing Splitsville has during the week. But you should go to their website to check them out. It will be money well spent. Plus it won't cost you an arm and a leg like that other place across town. Â Whether you are going with a group of people or if it is just you wanting to work on your game without all the trashtalking from your friends, this is definitely the place to go.
I cannot believe I have not written a review about this place?? I LOVE THIS PLACE! The best bowling alley ever, high end feel and vibe but the prices are surprisingly moderate. They have huge schooner beers for only 3.50 and decent food too. I love that they play the music video to the music they are playing and best of all you can bowl a game with friends or with your mate and just have a great easygoing time! I only wish I had a Splitsville nearer to me in Miami Shores. Be careful going on weekends they don't take reservations and there can be along wait for the bowling. They also have two huge bars and sports on TV and they have pool tables too for those that don't like to bowl.
Review Source:A weekend when I was at my vacation house is Florida I was with a group that had many different foods that they liked. For the life of us we couldn't find a restaurant that would fit are needs... until myself and my friend logged into Yelp and went searching. Five minutes later my friend found a restaurant called Splitsville. As she and I looked through the reviews we were eager to go. We had never heard of any restaurant that you could play bowling as you ate either sliders, pizza, salads, and even sushi. So we headed off to Splitsville. As we were driving I knew that none of the reviews that were posted didn't matter. My opinion was the most important...to me.
Food:
The food was excellent! We all ordered sushi, sliders, sides ect. They were all delicious and quickly made, but a lot of people think that quick food is bad, but this one was excellent.
Look and Cleanness:
As you can see from the pictures the restaurant is well designed and clean.
Accessories:
The accessories that were in Splitsville were awesome. There were T.Vs everywhere (even above the toilets) there was great music in the background that was not very loud, but also not to quiet. The bowling areas were simple and great to use. There were bumpers to help not have gutter balls, and great score keeping screens. There were tables with each lane that you eat off of (while bowling)!
Service:
The service was excellent. The staff was well trained and new how to deal with costumers. You get your own waitress/waiter for your own lane.are good got there in 15 minutes, but it didn't seem long because we were have a hardcore bowling game.
Prices:
The prices were a little steep, but totally worth it $$
Overall the restaurant was great! All of the people in are group found something they liked! If your looking for great food great service and great fun check out Splitsville!
M first visit here was on a Tuesday afternoon. I was met with an awesome special that, luckily, was reserved soley for Tuesdays. (Two Dollar Tuesdays). $2 Bowling, $2 Shoes. I was aweomse! Also from 4-7 they have  great happy hour that includes some food items as well... we enjoyed the $3 sliders (they are two cheesburger sliders that are HUGE and delicious) as well as $3 well drinks.
Unortunately I came in 2nd (I always play to win lol) and had a great time here!
The place is roomy inside, clean, and the music was loud but not annoying. I would imagine that at night it gets more 'loungy' as it gets later into the evenings.. something I'd like to check out in the near future.
I'l definitely come back.
How have i not written a review on this place yet?
I love coming to splitsville and always have a blast. The place is very nice and has a great crowd on weekend nights. They play good music and Their drinks are great. LOVE the hurricane bowl and its big enough to share. The food is great as well. they offer everything from appetizers, pizza, salads and even sushi! I personally love the buffalo tenders and get them whenever i come here. Oh, and of course the bowling experience. Ive only bowled once out of the couple of times ive been here but its really fun and reasonably priced if your splitting with a group.
Splitsville is one of my favorite places to go have a brew, savor their delicious food and play a game or two of bowling.
This venue has the perfect combination of everything! Â It's atmosphere creates for the perfect environment to enjoys laughs with a bite and an adult beverage on hand.
The food is excellent! Â Can't say anything bad about the food because the kitchen is up to par and everything that is on the menu is above par for food at a bowling alley. Â Have yet to have a bad experience...
The beer selection is nicely varied along with daily specials of food and drinks.
It is a fun place. Definitely a higher end bowling alley, and most of the food is quite good. The sushi is definitely above average, and the full bar adds an element of adult fun. The sliders were gross, frozen & so bad tasting that even my 5 year old wouldn't eat! But the rest was great! Yummy chive dipping sauce for French Fries! And try asking for Ponzu sauce with your sushi instead of plain soy.
Splitsville is not for the feint of wallet! It was $65 to take 2 small kids for 2 games of bowling. Yow! And don't over-estimate kids' attention spans. The nice thing is that each player can individually opt to have the bumpers up to avoid gutter balls.
I find Sunset Place to be one of my lesser favorite places to either park or hang out, but once inside the warm & cozy Splitsville, you wouldn't know you were in the teen thug paradise that is Sunset Place.
The one other bummer is that it can get quite busy with very long waits. They take reservations, but only for 2-3 days in advance.
A group of us came for the Tuesday Happy Hour bowling special - $2 games, $2 shoes, and $3 beer/wine/cocktails/sliders. Â We came at 6 pm and had an hour wait for our lanes, which was fine with us since we could take advantage of the cheap drinks. Â This was a great deal, and we had a blast.
However, service at this place leaves a lot to be desired. Â Our waitress was the least friendly waitress I've ever had. Â Not once did she smile. Â When she IDed us, my husband tossed his card across the table to her, and her shocking response was a catty "Was that really necessary?" Â This was completely unacceptable. Â I unfortunately did not get the waitress' name, but she has long hair and identifying features of a piercing in her upper lip, a rhinestone belly button dangle, and a tattoo on her forearm. Â She seemed very unhappy to be working at Splitsville - perhaps she would be happier in other employment.
This may not be entirely her fault - an 18% included tip doesn't provide any incentive to employees to provide good customer service. Â We'll be back again, and I'd love the opportunity to update this review after a positive service experience.
How much of a fat@$$ am I?? I went to a bowling alley just for food.
Splitsville is a bowling alley AND a dinner lounge. I've heard good things about the food so I thought I'd give it a try (well that and I had a $35 Groupon that was to expire the next day). Anyways, I ventured out to Sunset Place to give the place a shot. First off, if you want to save a few bucks, park on the street or in the South Miami parking garage (connected to Ra Sushi) and walk a block over. As soon as we walked in, we thought it looked pretty nice for a bowling alley! The dinner lounge was pretty legit. There are TV's everywhere (AND TV's in the bathrooms right above the urinals...Awesome).
We wanted to have a try at many different items so we opted with the Shanghai Shrimp, Volcano Roll, and some regular French fries to go along with it. For dessert, we got the Brownie a la mode and the Guava Sushi (sounded interesting enough). The Shanghai Shrimp was a nice portion of flash fried shrimp with this spicy sauce (similar to Sweet Thai Chili sauce), but it wasn't spicy for me. It comes on a bed of lettuce as well. It tasted great and had a nice sweet flavor behind it. The Volcano Roll was decent enough. It is essentially a Shrimp Tempura roll with lump crab meat on top. The lump crab smelled fishy and I thought the roll would have been better without it. I thought the fries were going to be nothing noteworthy, but they come out hot, crisp, and served with this incredible chive cream sauce. Â
Then, on came dessert. The Brownie A la Mode was a HUGE chocolate brownie with Vanilla ice cream on top and drizzled with chocolate syrup. The brownie was crunchy on the outside, but it was very moist on the inside. The guava sushi was decent. It was guava and cream cheese rolled up in sweet rice, topped with crunchy chips and drizzled with strawberry sauce. I thought it sounded good and for some reason imagined a pastelito sushi. The guava sushi was....ok. It wasn't as good as I had hoped and the sweet rice didn't fit well with the whole mix of it all.
Overall, the place was good. The prices are a bit steep, but the ambiance is great. Everything looks so nice and clean. You might think the bowling would be a distraction, but it really isn't. If I didn't see bowling decoratives everywhere, I would have thought that I was in a normal restaurant. If you're looking for something to do, try getting a lane at Splitsville and grabbing some food afterwards.
I have a love/hate relationship with Splitsville.
I love that it is in my neighborhood and so close to me. I love that it is something different and fun to do on an evening when bored. I love that it has a cool, funky design. I love the layout of the place and some of the music they play. I love the food, especially the Thai Shrimp Quesadillas and the Bubba Shrimp sushi roll. I love that kids aren't allowed after a certain time. I love that they offer specials like $2 bowling Tuesday to Thursdays after 9pm and $5 pizza Tuesdays and $5 sushi Thursday evenings.
But I don't always love the staff. Sometimes its very inconsistent. Sometimes they let you take an extra pizza to go, sometimes they don't. Sometimes they are mega-rude at the hostess counter where you pay before, giving lots of attitude where none is necessary. And sometimes they screw up your lanes and give you one already taken. Or sometimes you wait an entire game before a waitress/waiter even shows up to take your order. And sometimes you get there and they tell you there is an hour wait when half the lanes are empty as you walk around.
But like I said before, $2 bowling - you can't really complain... even though I just did.
I didn't know this and you might not know either but Splitsville is open for lunch on Fridays! That's right, you can either take a lunch break and bowl or enjoy their tasty food.
I went to lunch recently with my friend and we opted for the Magarita Pizza. The staff was very nice and very attentive, and right before my friend and I decided to order a pizza each thinking it was a personal size pizza our waitress stopped us in our tracks explaining it was about 8 slices and fairly big, my friend and I looked at each other and decided to share. Thank you WAITRESS! It was just the perfect size for us and we ate every last bite, thin wheat crust with just the perfect amount of cheese and fresh tomatoes, only thing I could have used was less sauce and a little more basil, but over all it was very tasty.
Last Friday we decided to try the sushi. My friend and I decided on something light, the Cucumber Kani Su -- It's a cucumber peel wrapped around crab and I'm not sure what else with a light sauce to die for, so fresh and refreshing, that I think I'll go back for more. Very Delish :) We also had a small Seaweed salad that was also very Delish! Thank you Laz for an exceptional experience. (Sushi Chef)
And our waitress was very sweet and on top of things.
Great lunch with great people! Thank you Splitsville!

Woohoo, what a nice place. Why, have I never come here. We only had about thirty five minutes before our movie so we ran in, sat at the bar and was looking around in awe. We sat at the Sushi bar and the guys were so cool and the sushi looked so good.
Our lovely waitress came over and we told her we did not have much time so can we just get one order of sliders and fries. She was so sweet, grabbed the manager as he walked past and asked him if he could put a rush on our order. The manager was like of course, not a problem, we will take care of it. Very nice, friendly guy, who was working very hard making sure every guest was taken care of.
As promised our food came out in six minutes flat. Sliders (Cheeseburger) were good, the fries, oh my those fries were delish! With a side of chive dipping sauce. Heck, I think all I ate were the fries and two bites out of the sliders. LOL Seriously, those things could be very dangerous, crinkled cut, with great seasoning on them.
Our waitress came over to check on us, gave us our check and we were on our way. She thanked us and said come back in after the movie. She was a doll. From the bar, the food, the service, the management, the cleanliness, the alley's, oh it was cool in there. On my list to come back and chill with some good food and drinks and possibly bowl one night.
Yes, at night after eight preferably. There was way to many screaming, lunatic youngsters in there for me. And of course the parents all let them run around acting like total animals. Â Our waitress told us they are not allowed after eight pm. SCORE!!!
Really liked the vibe with the music as well. Can not wait to go back.
I ventured to Spiltsville with the mind to bowl! After being told there was a two hour wait for a lane, my date and I decided to kill that time at the bar. The awesome low, retro style chairs were not exactly made for those with long legs but great for lounging and flirting at that. They have "specialty cocktails"- do not even bother... $25 bucks for Malibu and Midori- atrocious. We opted for white russians (dude) and mohitos instead. The bartender Ray was personable and quick.
Finally, 2 hours later, we get a lane, which was reasonably priced $11 per person per game- includes shoes etc.
I proceeded to lose the first game to my inexperienced partner, and then whooped up on him the second game. Booya!
Splitsville- good date spot, but put your name in- then go get dinner- then come back.
Dear Waitress that took care of me and my friends last tuesday,
I wish I knew what I did wrong. I'm very sensitive to people's reactions and I never got the impression I threw a wrong shape at you. I would like to think I was more than a gentleman in my conduct and easily charming with my tip. Me and my friends did have fun bowling during your famous 5 dollar 2 game shoe rental tuesdays and the 5 dollar pizza were great, but your unexplainable iffyness threw me off. I try and always take care of those that look after me, so if you get a chance, stop me next time and throw me a smile. I saw so few that night before. We will be back, and promise to still be nice.

I finally got the opportunity to visit this place after reading so many positive reviews (especially since that yelp event when it opened)
After walking around and checking out the digs, I gotta tell you..It feels like you walked into "The Dude" Lebowski's dream. Â Plush seats, white Padded booths. Top Shelf Liquor, and nice looking waitresses abound.
The design and the atmosphere is light years better than "Strike" and the element that visit here are as well.
They also have a very varied menu that go from your usual bar food (pizza, burgers, fries) to higher-class fare (sushi, steak) all of which tastes pretty good. We mixed it up in our group between pizza and sushi. Â Pizza was okay..more on the chef boyardee side (if he ever made pizza) but the sushi (spicy tuna roll) was pretty tasty. The fries are super delicious and are worth a bite.
The bowling lanes seem to be smaller than usual. I didn't have much difficulty hitting a strike here than i would at, say, the Bird Bowl..but then again, jeje, I have been practicing at home (with the Wii)
Overall this place has a nice upper-class feel with down-to-earth prices. In fact, I think its alot more affordable than that crappy 'Strike' in doral..and definitely cheaper than 'Lucky Strike'.
so call your friends, get your bowling shoes, and have fun!
I didn't even notice there were people bowling as I hung out at the bar watching four different football games at the bar. Â The lanes were out of view from the bar/TV screen area. Â
Because the menu had various sliders, I had to order the cheeseburger sliders. Â These are definitely meant for sharing as they were not the tradition wee burgers that make me coo and giggle. Â The were about the size of a McDonald's cheeseburger. Â Though tasty, the cheeseburgers were slightly greasy. Â If I order them again, it would be to eat only one (and not two). Â Next time though, I would probably stick to the healthier options.
Splitsville offers the NFL Ticket so you can come here and see every single NFL game on Sundays. Â I overheard the bartender tell other patrons that the specials were $2 Miller Lite, Coors Light and Presidente. Â I stuck with the $6 Guiness from a bottle.
Unlike various sports bars, there was plenty of seating available to watch the games. Â Probably because everyone else is there bowling.
I would have given Splitsville 4 stars, but our lane had a serious problem with balls getting stuck, and instead of moving us to a different lane, the creepy employee just tried fixing it. It took a while and it was annoying to deal with the entire time we were there.
It is a little more expensive than Bird Bowl, but it's well worth it. The ambiance, the music, the bathrooms, and the lanes are all much nicer than the other bowling option in Miami.
We didn't try any of the food, but we'll be back for that soon. The menu was full of great stuff.
Incredible menu, overpriced bowling. The food is to-die-for and the drinks are delicious too.
Sunset Place is infested with tweens, luckily Splitsville doesn't allow anyone underage to enter in the evenings without an adult.
Fun atmosphere and affordable as long as you aren't bowling.
Went to Splitsville on Saturday night. I think it's about the 3rd or 4th time I have been. I must say that each time that I have gone I have been very happy! The music is good, the crowd is nice, and the food is great! The bowling is also good too, of course ;)
If you haven't been, definitely check it out. It isn't as cheap as Bird Bowl, but definitely makes for a fun night out!
Oh, and try the sushi- surprisingly good!!!
I stopped in last night with my brother. Had a drink at the bar and I must say the food is delicious! It wasen't a busy night - but I can only imagine when it is! The place had good energy!
Sunset place needed a venue like this. It's a bowling alley / lounge.
I'll be back! Join me!
Strike!!! What you didn't think I could bowl!
Watch out now! LOL!!
Friendly service, shoe delivery to your lane (although you have to carry it back when you're done), waiter service.
The food were more than decent and not badly priced. The lower-priced items were generally around $9.The quesadillas and Hawaiian roll were good.
$4 shoe rental, $6 per game per person - and at this time I do not think there are any special pricing during some days of the week.
I would have probably 4 starred Splitsville... had I gotten the chance to actually bowl. I tried calling the place to make a reservation knowing that I might have to wait for a lane but the automated answering thing didn't give me the option for one. Around 7:30 I walked and put down my name on the list and gave them my cell. They told me the wait was two hours for a lane. That's good. My date and I weren't meeting till 9:30 anyway.
Unfortunately I didn't get the call for the lane till close to 11... by then neither I nor my date wanted to bowl.
What we did do was go to the bar where they had some unique drinks that you could pick off the menu. I had the Georgia Mojito which was excellent while my date had some chocolate martini concoction that she said very good. Expect to pay up the ass with the drinks though. I think both were $13 each. But you're really paying for the atmosphere and the bar wasn't packed. We were waited excellently by the friendly bartender. The music was great so it got us into the mood to go dancing at Martini Bar downstairs.
So in conclusion.. you can bowl.. just go on an offnight. Great drinks but you'll pay an arm and a leg for them. And have a backup plan ready if you can't bowl right away. What was also nice is that there is NO COVER unlike the snobbish Strikes at Dolphin.
Today I did a mitzvah and  saved a good friend from a 5 hour layover at MIA while travelling from Lima to Paris and got to check out Splitsville in the process.
So I did the obligatory MIA airport drive through pick up and shot over to South Miami...about 15 minutes away. Â We ate lunch somewhere else (broad wink to those who know me) and then with about an hour and half to spare before Sara had to check in again to MIA hell, we decided to walk up the street and check out Splitsville.
There WAS a 2 hour wait for a lane but thankfully we had anticipated that and went and booked one before we went to eat. Â Saturday afternoon at about 3:30 it was full of families but it didn't have that annoying level of noise or that histronic "chuck e cheese" feel about it. Â It was actually quite fun with kids there (because I had one of my own with me LOL).
The place is beautiful. White "Leather" backed banquettes in one bar area with white curtains looked very nice, I could imagine having nice drinks and appetizers there while waiting for a table. Â My son appreciated the tv's at the urinals and yes, the ladies bathroom was very very nice with lots and lots of stalls.
I had a peek at the menu and the prices are a little on the steep side but it IS waiter service and the staff are very attentive and friendly..if they continue the way they are going, you won't have to go looking for someone to take your order. Â The family in the lane next to us had ordered this absolutely GINORMOUS mojito....I was so jealous...being the designated driver and all that.
Pricewise, its AS expensive as any other bowling alley I've been to. Â The only thing was that every other place provides the shoes free - here they rent them for $4.00. Â Â I didn't have socks because I hadn't anticipated what we were going to do for the afternoon, but they sell socks there for $3.99. Â The last place I went to they wanted almost $6.00 a pair.
And yes Sabrina....you could almost take the shoes home with you they are that cute.
We decided to throw my boyfriend a birthday get together here last night and we made the right choice. The place is huge and brand new. The service was excellent, they really cater to everything you need. We were never short of drinks or food in our lanes since there was an abundance of servers everywhere you looked.
There was also an abundance of bars too, everywhere you look there was a place to get a drink. Splitsville just opened so not alot of people know about it which is great, that way you are not surrounded by annoying Kendallian hoes with their parent's money.
We ordered the meat lovers pizza, Tuna sliders and Fries with chive dip. DELISH. The prices for drinks, food and bowling were reasonable.
I will definetly make this my alley of choice over Lucky Strike! TRY IT!
So we didn't make it out to Splitsville on opening night like our yelp royalty (the likes of Maria A.), but it didn't disappoint two days later on a non-busy Thursday evening. It's obvious this place has not been discovered yet and everyone should take advantage of it before it gets packed.
It's got a bit of a 50's theme going. They had plenty of employees there and they were extra friendly. It almost seemed odd to me how nice and helpful everyone was. It even looked like they were having a good time right along with us.
Here's a tip--request a corner lane. A- You'll be right by the bar area and B-your server will canvas the area all the time. The drinks were great. Their menu includes "bowls" of drinks...I believe the bartendar said it was 64 oz. Didn't seem intimidating, but didn't want to look like a tourist. There's always next time. The menu had a full array of cuisines. We managed to eat american, japanese, and mexican all in one sitting. Fries and sushi...mmm.
The vibe was great and the music was perfect to get my game on. No turkey for me last night, but how could I with all of the great food and drinks--Bowling was just a bonus.
One word: FANFRIGGINTABULOUS!!
Went to Splitsville last night after coercing my friends to change dinner plans to bowling/drinks/dinner plans instead. It was a group of 10 and we were celebrating my friend's birthday. (It's 21 and over after 8pm-- which was fantastic)
We all trickled in between 8 and 8:30ish. Â We didn't wait much to get a lane, and while we waited, we took advantage of their delicious drinks at the bar. There were people there but it wasn't packed. Drinks were reasonably priced-- and the bartender was really nice and attentive.
The bartender told us that they were doing  a soft opening to make sure they have everything right before advertising and getting slammed. They're going to start running alot of ads in November, so you might want to go before the rest of the city is in on this.
This place completely blows both lucky strike and strike miami out of the water! The service is top-notch. They bring your shoes to the lanes and enter the names on the computer for you. One random employee even walked by and gave me a bowling tip!
As for the cost-- I paid for 2 games ($6/ea) for 2 people plus shoe rental ($4) and tax and it was $34. While at the lane, we ordered Parmesian fries (delicious!!), Chicken Quesadillas (also delicious!!!) and a Volcano Roll (surprisingly delicious!!!), 2 beers and a stoli/redbull & the grand total on that was only $52.----- And as for paying with a group which can be a nightmare- they actually rung us up individually before we started bowling so we didn't have to worry about splitting a bill after we were trashed!-- That was a really good added bonus!!!
I will definitely be back to Splitsville and it will be my new bowling destination of choice. Grab a group of friends and check it out before the crowds get there. GO GO GO!!
I had the absolute pleasure of coming to the Ocean Drive VIP party here on Monday night, before it even opened to the Public. Â We had the opportunity to try their snacks, drinks and bowling gratis, which was a *nice* touch for opening night. Â This place is just phenomenal! Â
Very sexy and sophisticated, from the moment you walk in, you almost forget you're at a bowling alley. Â The place is spectacularly designed, and the lights, decor, and furniture are very trendy and mod.
The first thing you notice are the several swanky bars strategically placed throughout the alley, ensuring easy access from any lane. Â TOTAL Bonus! Â There are several areas for just gathering with friends and having a bite, as well as small tables in the bar areas for standing and finishing your drink.
I arrived with a group of friends, and we of course wanted to bowl. Â So we reserved our lane and decided to check the place out. Â We all kind of split up and went in different directions to explore this brand new center of fun! Â On my exploration, I counted a total of 5 bars (or was it 4?), a dance floor, and the fact that there are tvs in the bathrooms. Â NICE!
I found the rest of the group and we decided to sit at one of the plush white booths and start sampling the treats they had to offer. Â From BBQ Pizza, to California Rolls, and the most amazing Sliders ever (ANY flavor rocks and we tried them ALL!). Â We were even treated and made privy to their chocolate chip cookies... Â They were so good, it was like a warm chocolate orgasm in your mouth! Â NOT KIDDING! Â Hot and gooey, Mmm Mmm GOOD!
I will have to admit... Â I really wanted to accidentally leave my bowling shoes on and forget my own there, but alas, I took them off and returned them. Â They are the cutest things ever! Â And it was nice, because I was the first person to put on that particular pair of shoes. Â So I broke them in! Â :) Â The lanes are beautiful and designed well. Â There is a table and benches directly behind each lane, and there are cubby holes in the benches to store your shoes.
All in all, this place is just fantastic and fabulous! Â This place is great for groups and gatherings. Â I would like to plan an event here, or perhaps host my birthday. Â As a matter of fact, I think I just made up my mind... Â And I can already forsee myself here many a night, drinking, dancing, bowling, and just having a great time!
This is a mix of a bowling alley and a club. It only has fourteen lanes, but the 6 bars and the flat screen tvs set to ESPN everywhere (and yes I mean everywhere) more than makes up for the wait. Good food, hot staff (had to be said, a lot of pretty ladies working here) and great music... somewhere I am sure I will be visiting again.
Can't be sure about the cash yet, everything last night was free, but judging by the location, service, and style I would suggest hitting the ATM before showing up (oh yeah they have an ATM...so scratch that).
Alright, imagine if you will Maria's review of Splitsville but only a bit funnier and not so grammatically correct. Add in some "Booo this ..." and " GOAT that ..." and you pretty much got my review to a T.
I will have to check this place out when I actually have to pay for stuff to give you an honest review but aesthetically it is wonderful. The staff is really friendly and the TV's above the urinals are great after you break the seal.
OH MY GOD!
Now my night was totally amazing, but it was also totally free. Company was also amazing, of course. I must be said, Yelpers really know how to party!
So, I'm going to talk about the stuff that was cool about this place that had nothing to do with the free part.
The food is really good. We aren't talkin' bowling alley good, we are talkin' restaurant quality good. They have a flippin' Sushi bar inside a bowling alley for goodness sake!
Now, the food is also restaurant prices, but they give you large portions that are meant to be "split" between people. (get the theme?)
This is really only 25% bowling alley, and more like 75% nightclub and bar. There are bars everywhere, including next to the dance floor.
The interior is really snazzy, and the service was wonderful. The bowling balls are all pretty colors; ladies, you can coordinate with your outfit. And they even have little cubby holes for your shoes built into your comfy benches behind your lane.
Definitely going back. Great place to mingle and meet!
Swanky, might be the first word that comes to mind when describing this upscale bowling alley.
I went there for their opening night party and was treated to complimentary eats, drinks, and of course bowling.
As soon as our little group walked in we reserved a lane and then broke up and did some laps before all reconvening at one of the plush, white booths at which time we all agreed we were in love with Splitsville. And there is a lot to love.
We sampled sliders ranging from turkey burgers, to chicken sandwiches, and even some sort of breakfast sausage perfect for all of us breakfast fanatics. The sampling plate also included bbq chicken pizza and fresh sushi, mmmmm. As far as desserts the rule was no dessert that night but since our little group included a preggers member we were given VIPP (Very Important Pregnant Person) treatment and allowed to sample the chocolate chip cookies. The cookies were hot, fresh, and fabulous.
Also fab was the bowling service as I received a call on my cell phone when my lane was ready. Our group moseyed on over to collect our rental shoes but found brand spanking new adorable bowling shoes. I'm talking so cute, you wouldn't mind wearing them out. One of the bowling hostesses then collected out shoes in a basket and led us over to our lane, where she handed out shoes and set up our computer.
It's also important to note that more food came out to us when we reached our bowling lane. So food will travel all throughout this adult playground. But you'll definitely want to be the one doing the walking as this place has several bars and a small, but busy dance floor. Of course with tunes courtesy of James McEwan of Automatic Slims fame it's easy to see plenty of people jamming all over the place. That includes an impromptu electric slide in the middle of the bar area, Â and people jamming out while bowling. I'm talking head thrown back singing and dancing were everywhere. Yes twinkle toes, you'd like it here.
Splitsville has a fun energy, delicious food, and is a great way to spend some time with friends. I could see many a birthday boy or girl being serenaded here as this place is set up to be fun, fun, and fun. It helps that attention was paid to including having ESPN in the gentlemen's restroom. Yeah there is definitely a lot to see and do at this bowling lounge.
Go on and get your score on roll model.
