Shouldn't even get one star. Can't even review the food because first of all there was no host-no one to greet us at the door. Had to go to the bar to ask if I could sit down. Then waited 30 minutes and still no one came to get our order. We had to leave. Horrible service. We were there at 9 PM so it wasn't super late or anything. Take my advice and just go somewhere else.
Review Source:BEST WINGS IN MIAMI!!! Â Special Grill baby!! Â Oh, can't forget, they have the best cheese fries as well.
I no longer live in Miami & when I visit, Sports Grill is ALWAYS a must. Â Great beer specials, great wings, causal, comfortable and friendly. Â What else do you need?? Â (Open one in Tampa) Â :)
Sports Grill! Before I began this whole "yelping" thing I LOVED Sports Grill then we started having a couple of service issues which I called the next day to complain about it and was surprised when the manager recognized my voice on the phone and knew exactly who I was. (I have never spoke to him and don't speak loud in there.) Â He said next time I come in he would comp some of my bill to just ask for him or call him on his personal cell and gave me the number. Well, I was a little embarrassed and didn't want to ask for them to comp the bill so I didn't say anything and was pleasantly surprised when the bill came and I had $30 taken off. That was awesome. So now I once again LOVE Sports Grill. They also now have Sweet Tea which they didn't have before but Sunset did. I guess my complaining and throwing in their face that Sunset had it finally worked. Their special grilled wings are AMAZING!! Love them! For sure the best wings in town. I have had their cheese fries, loaded nachos, sweet potato fries, fried mushrooms and jalapeno poppers and all are great and haven't dissapointed me.
Review Source:So. Â This is a bit hard for me. Â Let me start with the positive. Â The wings were amazing. Â We got wings and a BLT and both were delicious. Â I don't know what they put on the bread for the BLT, but it was the best I'd ever had. Â Now, on to the problem...We decided to try this place on a Monday night for some wings and beer to enjoy the Monday Night Football game (we've been searching for a place to go watch the games since Stampede closed several years ago) Â We went in and didn't have a clue to the seating arrangement as no one greeted us and there was not sign saying "seat yourself" or "please wait to be seated" Â Another group arrived right after us and seated themselves, so we followed suit and did the same. Â We were given our menus soon after we seated ourselves but didn't come back to take our drink order for about 15 minutes. Â At that time, the person we thought was our server couldn't tell us about the drink specials and then told us they were out of the beer special they did have. Â We continued to decide on what wings we were going to get and when they finally returned, we were then told they did have the beer for the beer special so we went ahead and ordered the wings and the beer. Â The beer arrived at our table and then we waited...and waited...and waited. Â I watched as three other tables that had come in after us (one right behind us) get served their food. Â We waited for 40 minutes for our sandwich and wing order. Â When they did deliver the food (finally) we were then told they no longer had the beer for the beer special. Â At this point, I asked what else they had and I was told nothing. Â I was already annoyed by this time, but this response infuriated me and all I wanted to do was leave at that point. Â Eventually when we could flag down the server (bus boy?) again, we told him we wanted a box to take our stuff home and I wanted to speak to the manager. Â The manager came over and was empathetic to our situation. Â She apologized for the issue and discounted our check and gave us a 20% off coupon for our next visit (which is highly unlikely). Â This was such a sad experience because we would have gladly returned as they have several televisions and really good food. Â Doubtful that is in my future any time soon.
Review Source:This is a great sports grill. They have very good draft beer offers during game day, get there early as this place fills up fast. Their specialty is wings! Personal favorite are Special Grilled and Dale wings. If you are in the mood for a spicy challenge try the Miami Heat but beware, very, very hot wings. The secret behind Sports Grill wings is that they grill the wings after they fry them as well as twice based in sauce....mmmm very nice, by far best wings in the area!
Review Source:The sole reason Sports Grill gets the 5 stars is because of their Special Grilled wings. You can search far and wide for wings as good as these but it just isn't going to happen. The fact that they are grilled and not fried is great, but the sauce they coat these wings in is incredibly addicting! As far as everything else is concerned, you can expect typical sports bar food. To their credit though, all of the food is good. Their beer selection is always good and I've never had a problem with the service. Even when they have a big game on one of the many TV's, a server is never too far away. Sports Grill is pretty much everything you could ever want in a sports bar...and again...those wings...a-maz-ing!
Review Source:Terrible place, terrible service. Been there twice, the first time the service was just bad, second time service was terrible. Went on a Saturday night at approximately 10pm, when we arrived the tables were dirty. We sat at the bar which looked as if it was the busboy station instead of a bar, it was overflowing with dirty basket were people had finished eating. After about 7-10 mi items of waiting and trying to get the bartenders attention, we asked if they could clean up the Barton area around us. He simply pushed everything a little further down the bar. Requests for a glass of water to go with our drinks went unfulfilled and when we were done we say for about 10 to 15 minutes waiting for our check to pay.
Will not go back to that place and definitely do not recommend it to anybody.
The special grilled wings are a staple, it is THE reason to come to this place. Just look at all the reviews... The burger is standard sports bar issue too.
I generally like a little bit of spicy. The "Miami Heats" wings are SPICY, and I mean S.P.I.C.Y. I didn't enjoy them, but thats my fault, not because they were bad, just because it felt like I had taken 7 Habanero peppers and 4 Tabasco shots to the face.. If you like ridiculously spicy wings, then these are the ones for you, my friend.
Sports Grill is a good place to get some grub and watch the game. Or just get some grub sans the game watching. That works too.
So disappointed. Â I came here because I saw all the great reviews, boy did you guys lead me astray! Â Packed but not that bad considering it was a game day. Â Ok, so the nitty gritty. Â We ordered wings, cheese fries, & beer. Â The beer was the best part of it. Â Maybe. Â Cause it came out warm once. Â I can't even remember our waiter's name cause he was no where to be found. Â Our wings came out wrong & cold the 1st time. Â The 2nd time they got our order right, but again, still cold. Â Come on man, who wants cold wings?!? Â Our fries were also cold. Â I can't believe this place has so many stars considering the service. Â I'm sad cause it seems like a cool place to watch the game w/friends, but I can't fathom spending my hard earned $$$ here again.
Review Source:Everyone in Miami knows that Sports Grill is notorious for their wings. Â But this one is probably the best one of all of their locations. Â TV's everywhere, the staff is very friendly and like I said wings! Â Definitely recommend wings, waffle fries, and a pitcher. Â What more can you ask for?
Review Source:If you live in Miami you have undoubtedly visited one of the Sport's Grill locations, but have you gone there and not eaten the wings? Â I know....it is nearly impossible but that is what happened to me after work on Friday.
My lunch crew yesterday afternoon was composed mostly of people observing Lent and the tradition that states that Friday's = no meat. Â I could have cried at this announcement because the anticipation of their addictive wings had me salivating long before our server came around.
"So what are we doing here?", was my almost rude response. Â Apparently, this place has all angles covered and in a snap the table was covered with more 'non-meat' items than I ever knew they prepared. Â Calamari, Garlic Mushrooms, Spinach Dip, Shrimp (Served 2 ways), .... suddenly my friend's Lenten habits didn't bother me as much. Â The icing on the cake was the Grilled Dolphin Wrap (about $8). Â It was fresh, plentiful, flavorful and just plain phenomenal. I am very glad I gave something new a try and I am happy that I found something else to obsess about on the Sport's Grill menu.
Paired with some cheese fries and a glass of your favorite brew, you will be more than satisfied with your meal and  relieved to know that your soul did not have to suffer the temptation of the anti-chicken wing Friday trend.
Lenten Friday's no longer have to be dull. Thanks Sport's Grill!
If I could live in the kitchen of this place, I would.
Besides the fact that both the food and the beer is cheap and the service is super quick (quicker than the other Sports Grills at least), it is all so very delicious. Â I used to hate wings. Â Even though I had never tried them, I thought it was weird to eat little bird arms. Until I finally tried them here. Â My bf, our friends, and I would go to sports bars a lot to watch games and the sort and I would always either eat beforehand or afterwards because I didn't want wings. Â I'd always try the sauce though because I like spicy foods and sometimes I'd dip a fry in the sauce. Â That was until I went to Sports Grill. Â I did the usual routine. I didn't order anything and come the wings, I was going to dip a few fries into the sauce. Â So I did. Â And the heavens opened up. The buffalo sauce is quite literally perfection. Â It's spicy and garlic-y and really just the best thing on Earth. Â So I decided to get over my eating little bird arms issue and try one.
OH. MY. GOD. Â It was a party in my mouth. I fucking loved it. Â I had like three or four of my bf's wings that night. Â
There was no turning back.
When my bf and I are hungry, this is our go-to spot. Â Like, we've been there so often, on days we order take out, we argue about who's going in because they're going to think that our entire diet and source of sustenance is this place, which it pretty much is.
It's been voted best wings in Miami according to the bus stop advertisement by my house, but I don't think that's true. Â It should be voted best wings in the universe.
Just saying.
Special Grilled, Draft beer. End of story.
Don't even bother looking at anything else. Well, maybe the curly fries but that's about it. I've been to other Sports Grills and this one looks newer than most. Lighting is bright compared to others. Service is pretty much the same as the others.
This place wasn't to bad as a first time visitor, I went with a couple of friends to go watch the Heat game. The enviorment was friendly and wasn't to over crowding as many other places during sport events. I like the fact that they had numerous of flat screen tvs all around the restaraunt. I didn't order any food but my friends did, by the looks of it they really enjoyed it a long with the other people in the restaurant you can tell they enjoyed there food. The only negative thing I'd have to say about this place is that they don't serve Liquor (Vodka, rum n etc.) they only have beer and wine, which if you're beer & wine drinker then this is a place for you. The service was ehh it could've been better, the waitress looked out of it.. but to not be biased it was sort of packed so its understandable I guess.
Review Source:I have been to other Sports Grill locations around 60 times in my 10 months in Miami and loved it so I was really happy to hear about a closer location. Â Unfortunately, it was like amateur hour in the place. Â I am going to enjoy the Steelers-Browns and all they got showing on all 10 or so screens is a total who cares game. Â It took 20 minutes and 3 attempts to get them to change 1 screen and then around 8 other customers changed seats to see that game. Â Then the 2 20 something guys in charge wearing their ballcaps backwards start playing hard rap music in a place full of customers (families, small kids, 40 year old white guys) who would hate that stuff. Â I couldn't get refills on my drink although I was prepared to tip well. Â I saw several tables get up prematurely or not even wait for their meals. Â I finally just got tired and left. Â I don't plan to go back.
Review Source:Best wings I have ever had in my life!
I will never forget our first time, it was definitely love at first bite. I dream about these wings, the taste of their right off the grill flavor has been impregnated into my taste buds ..... (sigh).... leaving them with a lasting impression. Â Please order the special grilled wings , you won't be disappointed. One of my friends at work always orders from here when we work together and can I tell you these wings have changed my expectations on wings!!! One bite and you will be hooked. Â For side order I recommend the cheese fries and the garlic mushrooms.
It's right off the turnpike inside a cozy little shopping center with plenty of parking right outside the establishment. Inside you will find booth like sitting and TVs all over perfect for game night, and  they even have WIFI now! .
There is different locations : Sunset, Kendall, and Bird, the only location I have been to is the one on Bird Road. Â So stop reading reviews and get yourself some wings !!! They didn't get 41/2 stars on Yelp for nothing, enjoy !
How disappointing :o( Â I tried the wings at this location 3 times and all 3 times they been specially dry & cold....I just moved in the area and noticed this one was closer to me than the one on 72nd st & 100 ave, but I must continue to go to the one who stold my heart, so my husband says...What a shame....this restaurant comes nothing close to the Sport Grill on Sunset....Never again....Eek Methinks not.
Review Source:This Sports Grill is in a convenient location on Bird Rd right off the Turnpike, so we stopped in last Sunday on the way home from the Dolphins game to grab some wings. Â The place was slammed, and the staff was hustling to take care of the influx of customers. Â There were no available tables so we sat at the bar since we just wanted to grab some quick dinner and head out. Â We sat there for more than 20 minutes before we were able to flag down a server to take our order. Â Literally every server in the place was behind the bar pouring drinks but no one even acknowledged us or said they'd be with us until we finally got someone's attention. Â Apparently there is a bar but not an actual bartender. Â Also no liquor FYI - beer/wine only. Â
We ordered a pitcher of beer, some wings, and a salad. Â My husband's order of wings came out cold (they took them back and warmed them up) and the other order of wings was short by 3 or 4 wings (they replaced the missing ones). Â The food was ok, I enjoyed by Cesar with grilled shrimp and of course Sports Grill wings are good. Â But overall, it was a bad experience on all levels and didn't make me want to return to this particular location anytime soon. Â This place needs a manager present to make things work when it gets crazy, it was very clear there was no one in charge that night.
The food is fresh/hot and delicious. The staff is outstanding go by there more than once and they actually recognize you and say hi. Always attentive to details and generally interested in what you opinion of their service/food was the manager comes by table to table...Would recommend without a doubt..
Review Source:I heard the wings at the Sports Grill were supposed to be the best in Miami. Â After trying them, I am not convinced. Â They are good, but not anywhere close to the best in Miami. Â Anthony's Coal Fired Pizza wing's are better. Â The best wings I have had in Miami so far are served at Tom's NFL...
Just Sayin...
Last minute happy hour with my work fam ended up being super fun & inexpensive. We ordered buckets of corona & each bucket with 5/6 beers was about $12, not bad at all.
The service was great too, sweet waitress & very cool bar guy was helping her.
The chips & spinach dip were really good but I think the dip should be a bit larger & please don't color the chips, not necessary. Â The chips though are crips & freshly made. Â I ordered to go a patty melt for the hub with sweet potato fries & he loved it.
Only thing is that you might need to bring with you is cash as they have this cool jukebox which is about 1/2 dollars a song...we needed to have a little party of our own...it might get a bit expensive.
Overall a great time after working all week.
See you soon !!!
Totally surprised by this place. We ended up here on a random Friday at midnight due to a severe chicken tender craving. Althought the Sunset location is way closer to my house, my hubs suggested this one b/c "it's nicer." Whatever, I thought, Sports Grill is Sports Grill.
The place was pretty packed but we got a table right away. The staff is mostly young kids, probably 18-22, and I was really blown away by how attentive & polite they were. We have been getting nothing but shit service everywhere we go, so it was nice not to hate our server for once. I think our server was Ricky, he was so attentive I even remember his name. Â
I had tenders and fries (gotta make the fat girl inside happy!) and my husband had the mahi wrap. Everything was awesome. The tenders were huge! Each one was the size of a chicken breast almost. The bbq and honey mustard sauces were the bomb. We didn't drink but upon reviewing the beer selection I saw they had a lot to offer.
Although I have no interest in sports - watching them, hearing about them, etc. - except for UFC and maybe boxing, I look forward to heading to this location next time there's a game or something on just for an excuse to eat their delicious bar food and guzzle some beer. They have big flat screens all over the place so this is definitely the place to go.
I am so happy to have a Sport's Grill in walking distance from my house. Â Where else can you go in flip flops, pajama pants and a t shirt and not be turned away. The special grill wings are so yummy and their house wine is pretty good. Â My fav is their french fries and cheese dipping sauce. Â Truly a fat girls dream come true!!!!!
The only thing I do not like is the Ken's Blue Cheese dressing that you charge .50 cents for. Â Next time I'm bringing my own, low fat, low calorie Paul Newman's style! Maybe I will not feel so guilty about consuming 1800 calories in 30 minutes. Â :)
The best sports grill of them all. I've heard some complaints about there being too many kids running around all the time but the way I look at it is: as long as I have my pitcher of beer, my wings and a good sports game to watch, this place is heaven.
Trust me, I know my wings. I love wings. My absolute favorite wings to get here are 5 buffalo garlic and 5 double-dipped special grilled wings...my mouth is watering just thinking about it now.
These are the greatest wings in Miami, period, end of discussion. This is not an opinion. This is fact.
I love you but I swear to God if you keep charging me 65 cents for every single Ken's Steakhouse blue cheese container ( I mean, at least pretend you make your own and put it in a plastic cup!)- I am going to go right next door and buy  a bottle of  Publix Brand Blue Cheese for $1.25.
Don't be surprised when I whip it out my purse next time we go and order 50 wings and then have to order 298183821038129032183091
containers of blue cheese.
Other than that- thank you for making my mouth happy with your specialty grilled wings. Our relationship is a rocky one, but hey- even Brad and Angelina have their hiccups too.
without a doubt, Best wings in Miami!!!!!! This place is awesome, the atmosphere is fun, you can go with your friends to hang out, drink beers and watch a game, but you can also bring the family and the kids, is great. My best friend has two boys and one of them plays all kinds of sports, so we go there after games or after practice and the kids always have a blast!!!! I love the wings, but they also have a really good smoke fish dip, is amazing, oh! and the cheese fries are delicious too. The staff is super friendly. Man I'm getting hungry!!!
Review Source:Well Sports Grill is roughly blocks from my house, boy am I happy. What makes it even better I think this is the best one. Great lay out for watching games it is loaded with big screen tv's. The food selection of Sports Grill is a little anemic but who cares when you have one of the best wings in the 305. I really wish they had better drink specials though. 10$ for a pitcher of Miller Light is a little steep considering almost every other place sells them between 5-7 dollars. Other than that Sports Grill is a great place to watch your favorite sporting event
Review Source:When one is doing a workout plan - and egad, training for a 5K, there are certain types of foods that should be avoided, particularly at certain times of the day. Fried foods at night fit that criteria. To that I say, Mr. Trainer, I will break the rules and enjoy my waffle fries and jerk chicken sandwich at Sports Grill!
I stopped by this afternoon for Happy Hour and to catch up on the NFL preseason news. While here, I ran into Lourdes Z., a fellow spicy food and football fanatic.
As far as food, my heart was set on their jerk chicken burger. Served with what look to be home-fried potato chips, I was willingly taken by the taste and scent of the spicy jerk sauce. You know a spicy seasoning is good when you don't need to supplement it with BBQ sauce. This chicken burger fits the bill and is worth the calories. Completed with crisp lettuce and tomato (yes, a  very good vegetable :) the patty was nicely sized, delicious and filling.
I wasn't expecting to, but the waffle fries caught my eye as I reviewed the menu. You could barely taste the fried sauce but were instead treated to some other spicy aroma. Fries themselves were nice and crispy too! These I did complement with the sweet and tangy bbq sauce.
My dining companion also allowed me to nosh on her order of chicken wings. Never had something "plain" tasted as good as the "Plain" wings here. I know what I'll order next time.
And, yes, I topped it all of with a Diet Pepsi!
The layout of the back bar is like a sports fan's dream kitchen, with three TV's across the back wall, dutch door to the kitchen prep area and of course the soda and beer taps on the wall.
I may have found a reason to drive west to watch the game!
Yes, I am doing another review for this location of Sports Grill. This time it will be a little different, though. This time it was a party of about twenty people. The minute we got in and told the staff, they accommodated us in four long tables put together. The drinks orders were taken first, and our server made sure to separate all the tabs first. I saw they had Kirin on tap and decided to get a pint. It was immediately brought over to me and tasted really good, plus it was nice and cold. The drinks were brought over extremely quick, by two or three people.
Then we ordered food. My girlfriend and I shared 16 (double dipped, double grilled) Special Grilled wings, and a full order of cheese fries. She ordered the Black Bean Tortilla Rolls and I told her that they sounded disgusting. The minute they got there, I decided to try them, and I immediately needed to hit myself in the face a couple of times. I can't stand black beans, but these rolls are O-MAZING. Next time I am ordering some for sure. The wings were spot on, but a little over the top with the sauce. Usually when I ask for the double dip/grill, they come out with a slight glaze. Not too dry, not too wet. The fries were at the top of their game. Hot and crispy, with a light seasoning, as always. To top it all off, we went with a Key Lime Pie, which was also very tasty.
When it almost came to be 1AM, we decided to leave. Everyone was over stuffed with beer and food, and my tab was about $48 with tax and tip (two pints of beer, sixteen wings, full order of cheese fries, quesadilla rolls, and a slice of key lime pie). Not bad for an evening of binging with a ton of friends.
Two words: HEAT SAUCE!
I had my first wing here. Strangely I was too old to be having my first wing, but I've been trying to top it ever since and no place can compete. From New York to Florida and everywhere in between, we, Miami, Â have the best wings in the world.
The pitcher beers are the cheapest, the contests during game nights, and just the local love for this bar... it's an institution never to be replaced. Even the expansion of the business (and possible franchising) hasn't dwindled it's massive charm... and I'm the queen of  franchise haters.
Love love love Sports Grill
I...have a confession to make...I think I may love this new sports grill location more than the original!!!
Yes, in my book and the book of my close friends that phrase sounds like utter blasphemy. But...one can not understand the statement until one has compared.
I have to start by saying that I never expect 5-star service from any Sports Grill location. When you are at Sports Grill, you are there for the wings. You know that, the servers know that and everyone comes to a mutual understanding that the point is just to get there, place/take the order and get the wings out hot and quickly. They do this and that's all I really ask for.
This new location is of course cleaner than the original since it's brand spanking new. The TV's are also larger, newer and more strategically placed. All this is good, but really the point is the food.
Ahhhhh, the food...I can tell you one thing, I never realized that the original location had started slipping in the 'fresh' factor until I ate at this location and 'BAM' the lightbulb went on over my head! Everything, the wings, the beer, even the damn celery tasted so much fresher, juicer and just overall yummier. I was blown away. I mean, to take something I already loved so immensely and then improve upon it!!!
WOW...
Sports Grill....the place where you should take your wings to go. I'm giving them 2 stars because their service is horrible. The bartender came to take our order, someone else delivered it and the only time I saw the waitress was when she brought me the bill. Other than that, this place is great to watch football games. They have nice flat screen TVs and the wings are great but like I said before the service...not so good.
Review Source:Came out here on a Thursday night for the Dolphins game not expecting this place to be packed. Boy, was I wrong! The place was full from wall to wall and the vibe was completely different than that of the sister restaurant on sunset drive.
This sports grill has HDTV flatscreens all throughout the restaurant. Every booth has a screen and it's impossible to miss the action from anywhere you sit. The service was attentive and although the waitress did get lost a few times it was understandable as this place was a madhouse. The wings were good and came out hot. Don't know if it's because I've been eating these for too long but for some reason they don't have the same "magic" they used to. The seasoning is still good though. A buddy ordered the cheese fries and I could not stop dipping the fries in the golden orange cream that is made to resemble cheese. It was sooooo good! All the cusomers were really into the game and there was a party atmosphere throughout the entire time.
What makes this place a 5 star are the beer specials they had throughout the night. That night they had Sam Adams winterbrew for $1 each, 8.00 pitchers of Yuengling and Dos Equis 2 for 1 specials. Brilliant!! Â This place is much better than the outdated 80's era Sports Grill on Sunset drive. Definitely coming back out here for a game when I'm in the "souwesera"! Â (That's southwest area in spanglish for the non-Miamians)
