Next to the Last time I was in there, the Black African American Cook, wife and son were fighting with a customer due to the customer asking the cook manning the grill outside if the ribs were baby back. Â The cook got mad for no reason and started a fist fight with the customer and cooks family members joined in. Â I was surprised i didn't hear about a lawsuit after the unprovoked Dore's workers beating a customer up. Â Then after this happened, a week later I was there and the same cook got into it with another customer. Â I didn't hear how it started but the customer was saying" I was just asking how much a plate of BBQ was" Â If your a white male, Stay out of here unless you want a beating by the staff.
Review Source:I enjoyed coming here to hang out while visiting family in Bay City. It wasn't overcrowded. The martinis are a bit expensive, I will stick to beer and the occasional mixed drink next time. I do think it's odd that you can smoke cigars inside but not cigarettes. I am from Texas and we can smoke in bars down here. It goes hand in hand. Smoking and drinking. It was a fun experience though.
Review Source:I went here for a good martini thinking it would be better than what I got. Â After all, it is a martini bar, right? Â Aside from that, it just feels like there is no consistent theme in the place. Â I like the idea of decorating the stalls and having your own, "private" room, but come on, they look like my college living room. Â With a bit more class, and better drink recipes, this place could be legit.
I wanted to review BARTS, but there is nothing on here for it, so here goes. Â My friends wedding shower was here and we needed a pre-game shot. Â Bar area was empty and bartender proceded to make the shots in front of us. Â When given the shots one had a fruit fly in it. Â I can understand this, it happens, but then she went on to filter the fruit fly and re-serve the booze. Â She claimed that she couldn't waste it for reasons of liquor costs. Â Ok, well in my book, this is just untouchable in terms of tacky. Â My friends and I thought we may have entered the twighlight zone. Â Not to mention the food offered was all WAY TOO SALTY!
Get ready for the 12th menu in the last 3 years. We went there Saturday April 13th for a valentines celebration. Server had 7 tables. No bus person.Menu was extremely cut down. Cheapest item was $14.95.Went skyward from there.
Server said that we should expect high prices for fine dining. NOT!! Paper napkins wrapped around the inexpensive utensils. Had to ask for water. If this is fine dining-I'll beg forgiveness.
According to the server; "The new menu wil be just like the Rathskeller at the corner of Midland and Henry Street. All deep fried and available in less than 9 minutes"
As a real fan of the "Rat" we'll take a pass on this joint from here on out.
The Stables is a guaranteed night out of fun for anyone past their early 20s. Â It isn't the typical Midland Street bar with kids getting hammered. Â It has fantastic martinis, a humidor full of cigars, hookahs (free refills on Tuesdays) and live bands. Â There is a patio that is great for sitting outside during the summer and the individual stables are great for a little privacy to chat with friends.
