Former storefront of Spectrum Wine. Â Station 1870 features the wines from the Fritz family. Â The Fritz family winery is north of Geyersville. Â So we're talking about a local Sonoma county wine producer & purveyor. Â Let it be known that Station 1870 also serves a list of Italian wines as well.
I've had the pleasure to drink all the white and red wines made by Fritz. Â Every varietal is packed with flavor, has a nice silky mouth feel, and is low in acid and tannins.
This wine bar does have tapa style small plates of snack food for your chewing pleasure. Â Last night I ate the 6 crostini variety plate and the special 4 pieces of cheese & fig crostini plate. Â The tapas are small and for $10 per plate the tariff seems a little too high.
Still Station 1870 is a nice wine bar, staffed with friendly & knowledgeable servers.
Go! Â You'll enjoy the place.
We stumbled upon this great wine bar after having dinner at Lococo's. Â The service was fantastic and they were not pretentious like some places. Â We each did a flight of wine which they modified to our taste and then a couple glasses. Â We ended up leaving with a few bottles. Â The new Zinfandel is to die for delicious. Â To top it off there was excellent live 90's music. Â It was like a walk down memory lane.
Review Source:A friend and I stopped by for a glass of wine after lunch and shopping today mid afternoon, and it was a pleasant break. Â We both loved the Fritz Russian River pinot and the server was very friendly and helpful. Â Would I go back? Â If I was cool with spending $14 per glass as a once in awhile treat (and we didn't get offered the happy hour before 6 pm prices or the buy a bottle discount when we were there) and then maybe going somewhere else after? Â Maybe. Â The space is nice, and I like the couches and side tables. Â Parking is way easier in Railroad Square than downtown.
