The Sugar Bowl is great if you are on the beach and want to take a break from the sun for a bit. Â You can grab a snack and a few drinks before heading back out again. Â It's just a pub with an outside concrete patio and a little concession stand where you can order things like cheese fries (which everyone loves), burgers, chicken fingers, etc. Â There is a volleyball net right outside and usually the kids are running around while the adults are imbibing.
Review Source:Let's say you are at Fort Tilden and want to grab some grub and a beer. The Sugar Bowl is probably your closest bet (unless you count the snack counter at Jacob Riis Park).
Walk down the beach (past/under the Silver Gull Club) to get here, otherwise walk/bike in on the main road, past the gatehouse (don't stop). The Sugar Bowl sits directly on the wide beach of Breezy Point, with dozens of bikes parked out front. An outdoor deck offers a window to order fries, cheese sticks, burgers, onion rings and the like, and a full bar is indoors. We were here on Labor Day and it was completely packed with folks partying to a live band.
Totally worth hitting up if you are in the area; the food and drinks are nothing special, but the location is magical.
I love the Sugar Bowl for its location. Â Located right off the ocean side of the beach in Breezy Point, it's the perfect stopping point for all parts of your beach day. Â It's a great place to start your day, grabbing a quick drink or snack before hitting the ocean. Â With a location right off the beach, it's also a great break from the hot sun during the day. Â With wine, tap and bottled beer, frozen Twisted Teas (one of my favorites) and the occasional sangria, it's a great place to socialize and hang out before or after beaching it.
The place has typical pub grub: hot dogs, burgers, wings, sandwiches, and mozzarella sticks that hit the spot.
I've always had a great time with family and friends and it is a must-stop whenever in Breezy.
