Heard about this place from a friend and was visiting in the area so thought I'd try it out. Â The good about Sultan's is they use all Khalil Mamoon Hookahs, have premium tobacco, use Coco Nara Coconut charcoal, the customer service is awesome, and their prices are cheap for the best quality hookah money can buy. The front desk guy was super cool, greeted us, talked shop with all the premium shisha brands they carry etc... Â Also I have to say contrary to some of the other reviews on here, the coal service was great. We never had to ask for anything the whole time we were there, and it was very busy.
The downside is the space itself is dirty. Holes all over the couches (which glow because of the black lights), black lights, laser lights, super loud music (apparently we came on an event night with a dj). The dj was awesome, but I like to chill out when I smoke hookah, so be advised, the environment here is loud, hyper, lasers lights in your eyes, 2 chainz, too $hort, lil' jon playing, crowd definitely 18-21yrs old, etc... Â Also this place does not have food (unless you consider monster energy drink and bags of chips food, then they have food).
Conclusion, the hookah was great, prices were great, service was great, and the atmosphere is definitely catered to 18-21yr olds. Â If you're looking for a great hookah mid week out in riverside you won't find a better deal for this quality if you're ok with the environment.
Best Hookah Lounge In the IE!!
I love this place!! The environment is super friendly. Â I went with my sister last night which this would of been the third time I have been to this hookah lounge. Â She also agreed that this place is better than Luxor Hookah and University Lounge in Riv, as well as Dreams in Corona. We got there and it looked super packed. The music was going, everyone looked like they were having a good time. Once we ordered our hookah we were surprised it was only about $10 for one hookah!! Â As packed as it was, we were able to find a seat in no time and our hookah was there in seconds with coals and everything. Â Our hookah lasted about 3 hours and was delicious. They are equipped with new hoses that are bigger and better than those typical hookah lounges making it easier and more fun to smoke. Â And I must say the couches are the most comfortable couches. Feels like you're sitting on clouds, literally. Â What I love the most is the staff is always on top of their game, changing coals and playing all kinds of music, which is the best part. Â This is the first place I've ever heard some of my favorite band's songs as well as rap artist in their playlist. You can select your own music and everyone isn't stuck-up about it. Â The lighting and music makes it a good night to go out with the girls (or guys), listen to good music, meet new people, smoke hookah, play games, and just chill. They also have dart machines in the back which are so addicting!! I was there from 11:30pm to 2:30am and I wasn't ready to leave so I can't wait to go back to this place!! ;)
A friend invited us here a few nights ago and after reading the reviews and hearing about how it was fairly new, we decided to give it a go. He headed over, and we had to get ready and would be there in 20 mins or so, and while we were waiting, he texted us that it was "country night"... yippee.
So upon arrival, we immediately notice just how packed it was, which neither or us like when talking about a place such as a hookah bar. I mean I understand that hookah places are meant to be social, but it was just loud and over-the-top in there; country music blaring (and people singing along) and loud chatter. It obviously wasn't the best experience I could've asked for for a place like this.
Regardless of those things we noticed right as we entered, we walked over to the counter to pay. Since we were with friends that already had two hookahs set up we only had to buy a drink for each of us. They had a very good selection of drinks in their fridge: Diet Dr. Pepper, orange Crush, Starbucks Frappuccinos, and a bunch of different juices. So we each grabbed one and the total only came out to around $5 to our surprise. I noticed that the pricing for the actual hookah wasn't bad at all either. It was $9-11 a bowl depending on the brand of shisha you want, and the hookah can be shared between two people, with the odd man out only having to buy a drink/snack like we did.
On to the hookah, after we sat down we both noticed that the shisha tasted amazing. One of the bowls was some fruity mix and the other was a mint with something else added in as well (sorry I can't remember what they were exactly). We were there smoking for a good hour and a half and the flavor was still going on strong, and this is even after we arrived a bit later than our friend too!
And now for the coals, always the coals. No matter where we go, it always seems to be a problem for the people working there to just stop by every 5-10 mins and give us some more coals, and everybody else too. I mean come on, it's not that hard, but it just seems that all everybody wants to do is sit around and with mingle with friends, and it's ridiculous. How do you expect me to come back time after time and spend money at your place when I have coals that are hardly even lit making it near impossible to even get any smoke. Plus the fact that they never once took off the bowl and blew all of the ash out of it; that was our job apparently, since we had to do it multiple times after the taste kept getting so gross.
Apart from the shitty service, the actual hookah was great, but the reason for the 3-stars is just because of how rowdy it was in there. I get that it was country night and it's not normally like that every single night, but thats the only night I've been and I have to rate strictly on what I experienced, and I just can't stand a loud and obnoxious hookah bar. Would I come back though, in all honesty, I probably would, just as long as there's not some theme going on for the night.
This lounge is one few lounges that carry Tangiers tobacco. The lounge is ran very well. The staff is friendly, and very helpful. I recommend trying tangiers line. If you appreciate a good smoke full of flavor that will last a lot longer than starbuzz. It is a bit stronger that usual shisha, and will knock you on you.... They also carry starbuzz and Al Fahhqur, but i stand by tangiers once you try it you'll be hooked!
Review Source:Came to chill w a friend...One of the best hookah places i've been to!!! Great service, the people are down right chill, awesome hookah, thats a definite!! Chill environment and inexpensive :D Best in the IE that ive been in.

An amazing new addition to riverside!
I was fortunate enough to go to Sultan's Hookah Bar with a few friends a few days before the grand opening and had quite an amazing experience. Everything about this place is far and beyond better than any other hookah place I've been to.
Let me break it down in detail:
+ The hookah itself is amazing.
They give you an option of the regular Starbuzz flavors, Fantasia flavors,
or the new independent line, PURE, which is a tobacco free line with flavors
 that don't get harsh.
The best PURE flavor in my opinion is raspberry. Its sweet but subtle
+ Â Amazing atmosphere: It is a quaint smallish place on the corner of Van Beuren and Arlington Avenue.
When you walk  in you face a giant Hieroglyphic that is lit up.
Looking around you'll see couch laying out sporadically in an interesting manner.        They also have very comfortable fold out chairs that are almost like couches.           Â
+ Amazing Price: As an opening promo, they are having a $9.99 special that includes a hookah and a free head change. This usually lasts you a couple of hours.
+ Amazing service. The owners and the servers were very friendly and one of the owners even let me request a few songs for the music that was playing :)
OVERALL: Its is an amazing experience. You should definitely check it out during their Grand Opening Night  which is this Saturday.
