The food is excellent here! Don't be afraid to order the fish just because its a food stand at a beach and you think its gonna be greasy, old and gross. Its actually really fresh and tasty. The fish taco and fish sandwich are amazing! homemade gourmet tartar sauce. And the salads are surprisingly big and chock full of an assortment of things!
Review Source:Our club took a ride up the coast a few weeks ago, and decided to have lunch in Stinson Beach. Â This being THE place on the water, we decided to check it out.
First impression - definitely...er...rustic. Â Second impression - WTF? Â Cash only/ Â Uh oh.....luckily, between all the members, we were able to cover those who weren't ready for this shocker.
I went with a cheeseburger and fries....big mistake. Â Absolutely the most boring burger on the most boring bun you can imagine. Â In fact, I ate half, and decided I was done....the wife was ready to call an ambulance at that point, as she'd never see such a thing before.
Those that ordered the calamari found that it came from a box from their grocers freezer. Â BUT....those who had fish and chips LOVED their food....as did the one dude who ordered fish tacos.
So have to be fair and say the place is "ok". Â NOT a destination ride, for sure...but if you're at Stinson Beach, and starving, by all means, go....assuming you have the cash, of course.
This place was a life saver! It was a pretty chilly day at the beach and my friend and I had just hiked 6 miles or so from muir woods to stinson beach. We were so happy to find the Surfer's Grill and even happier to talk to the really sweet woman who was working there. She showed us lots of places to visit in the area and gave us tootsie rolls. The hot tea selection was really good quality and she even gave us milk to go with it! We had fish tacos and the fish and chips. The fish was fresh and crispy. Yum! The only downside is that it is open and therefore just as cold and almost as sandy as outside. I don't think that would have bothered me on a warm day though.
