While trying to decide where to eat dinner , we came upon Sweet River and we couldn't remember why we hadn't been there in over a year. So we stopped in at 6pm...dinner time and the place was almost empty. That was our first tip off. Service was fine, however when our meal arrive we both remembered why we hadn't been there in a while. The Salmon was so overcooked and dry I was thankful there was a glass of water on the table, the vegetables were from a bag and overcooked. The burrito came on a super hot plate however everything in the burrito was cold. The beans tasted like plastic. YUCK, YUCK, and more YUCK !
Someone better wake up at Sweet River or they'll be out of business shortly. I won't be back !
To be quite honest, I would like to enjoy this place. It is close to home and has some interesting dishes on the menu. Truth be told, however, this place needs a dish makeover. Nothing I've tried was better than what I could make at home. Veggies are drenched in oil and overcooked. Food is underwhelming, just "ok" not delicious. For the high prices, I was expecting great food. Not the case. Not the cleanest place in town, either.
Review Source:This place is nothing to write home about. Â It would not be my first, second third, forth or even fifth choice if I were an educated consumer. Â
However I was passing through town and wanted to eat some place different, someplace that I could not find in the Mid-West.
This was different but not in a good way. Â The waitress, Hillary, was very nice and efficient, however that is where the good part ends. Â The burger was one step up from a Quarter Pounder at McDonalds. Â The fries were just barley warm and the shake was probably the worst I ever had.
