Love coming here for outside drinks its one of my girlfriends and my spots. I haven't seen little Alexa my past few visits, she was always so upbeat and happy! Definitely worth checking out!

I give it one star because my son liked the vanilla ice cream... We wanted to enjoy the patio with friends, but it turned out to be quite an unpleasant experience.
First, the restaurant was full of drunks and I mean, people who are really drunk. One woman fell off her chair on the ground and hit her head on our table right in front of my son. Another fell off the stairs going to the parking lot. Do not take your kids there!
I got their clam chowder and cold not eat nothing else. I felt sick to the stomach and was up all night because of that.
Calamari appetizer was good my husband said and my son liked the vanilla ice cream. Close to 11 pm they started clearing off our plates and glasses - "because the dishwasher wanted to go home"... ?! Really?! Definitely not on my return list...

portions are large and prices are reasonable. the food is really great here. i got a crabcake with half salad and it was not only huge, but the crabcake was also obviously hand-made - not one of those deep-fried breaded hockey pucks you usually get. check out the back deck for dining or just hang at the outdoor bar if the weather is nice. definitely one of my new favorites.

I've only been here once, after shopping at nearby Marisa's (which is an absolutely amazing dress shop. If you are looking for a dress, go here first. I've followed her for more than 10 years. She always has a unique selection of of-the-moment and classic styles at amazing prices).  When we asked at Marisa's for good local places, Sycamore was one of the places they recommended.

The food was really, really good.  The food was of the caliber I tend to expect of restaurants in larger cities. Oysters Rockefeller the best I've had, the steak and crab special the best I've ever had out side Baltimore (we know our crab!), and my mom's chicken parm was also tasty.  The garlic mashed potatoes are ridiculous, the vegetable sides nice and crisp.  Our server was attentive and quick - you could easily see why the place was packed.

I'm looking forward to eating there again the next time I'm in town. If you haven't been in, you should go.

Tremendous food, outstanding staff, great music nights, great promotions, etc. The bar always has a very lively crowd. Just disappointed that someone would call a fellow human being with a disability, at the bar, the "Village Idiot."

Went for lunch with the kids because Santa was coming!  Food was very good.  The atmosphere was festive and there was a good crowd.

The owners were there welcoming everyone and you could tell there were quite a few regulars.

Santa was well-played and the kids loved him!

I've been here 3 times so far - twice to eat and once for the bar. I couldn't really decide whether to give Sycamore Grill 2 stars or 3. I chose to go with 2 stars because Yelp's description (Meh. I've experienced better.) is very appropriate.

The first time I went, I got a turkey club, which was delicious (although, it is hard to screw up a turkey club) and they had Victory HopDevil on tap (my favorite), so I got one of those as well. I was impressed that they had it! $9 for the club was a little steep, but it is Newtown.

The second time I went, I got an arugula salad with grilled chicken on top. The salad seemed like it had a pound of arugula, a tiny bit shaved red onion and a sprinkle of fresh parm and drop dressing- proportions of ingredients were way off. There is no way they should be getting away with charging as much as they do for that. Thankfully I added the grilled chicken ($4) to it. Even still, the salad didn't have much flavor. I kind of got tired of eating it and it just stopped after a little while. I doctored up the leftovers once I got home and made it much more enjoyable to eat.

The third time I went, it wasn't during happy hour and it was late evening, so we drank overpriced drafts. Nothing to complain about, except for the prices. It was a nice drinking experience.

The ambiance is very nice. The outdoor patio is pretty and a great spot to enjoy happy hour. Happy hour consists of decent drink deals and half price food. I know I'll end up going back (I have a gift card I need to use), but it's definitely not my first choice. It's not a bad place to go, but there are nicer places in the area.

This is a good restaurant.  The food is a little better than bar food, but that is the menu.  Good salads, sandwiches etc.  The food is fresh.  We like to sit outside.  Which has good seating. It's quite and the service is good.  The only negative is the inside is dark and gloomy.  So if you want to sit outside and talk with friends it is a god place.

We ate there after the local high school graduation with a party of 14.  Our waiter Lee did an excellent job with our party which consisted of adults an children ranging from little ones to teens. Without going into what everyone ordered, I can say that all 14 of us were able to order something different, with special requests being accommodated, and we ALL loved our dinners. That is not an easy thing so I feel like it speaks volumes about how great this place is. The menu is extensive an very American so if you're looking for anything exotic, this is not the place for that. It's a nice, solid American food place. They even have a few tables outside on the front patio, but only 3 or 4 two tops. The huge bar area has tv's for watching the game and a sports bar feel.  The only slight drawback is the decor, it could use a little sprucing up.  We loved our experience here - we'll be back.

This place is exactly what we don't need more of in Newtown.  The food is fine...just that, fine.  Absolutely nothing special about it.  The menu is completely generic and what you would expect from an American restaurant in a small town with a semi-upscale clientele.  No surprises, so I suppose it's a safe choice, but it's not a place that I could ever see myself coming back to.  Total snoozer.

Popped in on a Sunday eve for a quick bite and a glass of wine with a girlfriend.  This place opened recently, and is a welcome choice in Newtown.  It's located on the main thoroughfare, Sycamore Street;  has a sizeable parking lot, and, most importantly, a deck.  Though on a small size, it will be a popular destination once the weather warms up.

We entered from the parking lot / deck area, straight into a large bar room.  The bar is set smack in the middle of the open space, with three sides for patrons to sit at, and a large TV on the 4th wall.  Smaller TVs are visible on other walls, so every customer can follow a game or a favorite program.  We sat at the bar and ordered a glass of pinot grigio and a light beer.  Close by was a carafe with the salty nuts/bits mix - addictive.

I ordered a classic Caesar with extra dressing on the side, and my friend requested a romaine with blue cheese, walnuts & cranberries with balsamic vinaigrette.  My Caesar came perfectly dressed and presented, balanced with garlicky croutons and shavings of parmesan.  My friend absolutely lover her salad, thoroughly picking the last of the nuts, berries & blue cheese off the plate.

Thumbs up - definitely will return.

What a friendly fun place.  havent missed a weekend there since it opened.  We were there last night and what a crowd.  Had reservations and our service and meal were excellent to say the least.  Its all about the food.  Sound issues are being resolved. Those small issues take time.   The food is the key.  The best steak and lobster ive ever had.  As busy as they were last night we didnt have to wait for our drinks and most importantly our food.  The kitchen has come together. Everything takes time and they have done it.

Pricey, but food not as good as it should be! VERY LOUD, noisy & not peaceful or restful. Hard to have a conversation!
Service so so, we waited an HOUR for our food! It was too long a period of time. You CANNOT have a restful ,peaceful dinner here, it is too frantic & way over-priced for what you get! NO ambiance! I will never return there! For those prices I can find many other acceptable upscale places to dine! I was very disappointed! They refuse to take reservations for two people--very discriminatory!
