As a former employee of U of M-Flint, I was bummed I missed this place when it opened a couple of months after I left. I finally got a chance to try it today for lunch, and was terrifically impressed.  Many new restaurants have kinks to work out at first, and they seem to have solved theirs in terms of service.  Our waiter was wonderful and both he and the bartender checked on us frequently.

This place has one of the best selections of Michigan beers around, and a great selection of interesting gins, bourbons, and scotches. The bartender when we were there was knowledgeable.

For lunch, we split the Table and Tap Combo with pork and chicken so we could try as much as possible (this gave us beans, green beans, cornbread, coleslaw, and 3 sauces).  The chicken and pork were perfectly prepared and came out within 5 or 10 minutes of ordering.  We both loved all of the sides, but a word of caution, even the green beans had bacon in them, so there is little here for a vegetarian or pescetarian to eat.

Splitting the combo was a great and economical way to do lunch - with beer, the bill came to about $25 and there was more than enough for both of us.  I am looking forward to my next visit so I can try more and delve more deeply into that beer menu!

First time here -  The food is best described as "Addicting" you will be wanting MORE!! Great ambiance... service was great  - Love the fact that they try to use LOCAL ingredients... I see they have gotten some low ratings on here - If you go to a bar/pub of this nature and you are in a hurry - this is not the place for you... Kick back relax... they are busy... this is good - give them time to get to you - the food is WELL worth the wait.... so grab a brew and enjoy!

Went here with some friends.  Finished beer #1, waited 20 minutes, proceeded to turn my glass upside-down on the table to even help signal that I may need some service.

By the time they made it back to us (and the server to patron ratio was 1:5 btw) we just said "forget it" and all cashed out.

They could get away with the terrible service if the food was good, but the "barbecue dipping sauce" as stated previously by another reviewer, is basically ketchup.  Mac and Cheese is good, but, honestly, it's hard to mess that up and most BBQ places do better.  I don't see myself going back.  There's way too many good places in town to bother with this.

I'm also not really keen on the Michigan beers they seem to select.  I love Michigan breweries, but their choices of what to carry and what not to carry seem off to me.

    Updated review:

Just go when it's not busy. That's it.

I gave it a second try because I loved their local beers, and went mid-afternoon this past week, and there was practically no one there.

My server, Bryce, was sincerely the best server I have ever had--at anywhere. Just a really nice, genuine dude.

I had the awesome pleasure of eating at Table & Tap twice during my week-long vacation in Flint. I started off with a beer flight. I'm a sucker for local craft brews and was delighted with the selection available. My overall favorite was Short's Soft Parade, refreshing and easy to drink. My first food choice was the pulled pork. The texture was spot on, juicy and flavorful.  On the next trip I dove into the TnT plate with ribs, chicken & bratwurst....yeah, I'd do that again. Oh, and the balsamic mustard sauce was... well, I can't wait to get back to Flint so I can have more.

All the staff that I met was super friendly and excited to be working at a great place. I also work in the food industry & know what it feels like to be proud of the products we put in front of customers, it's great to see this place so into localism.

This place! Atmosphere,  location, food, booze = RAD.   Ok... new establishment,  learning curves, yes. But they're worth having a little patience for.

I am starting to think that T&T is just a joke being played on us downtown regulars.  I have heard all the horror stories about the suuuuuuuper slow service, but thankfully I haven't witnessed that (I go early).

But, it is obvious that it is being run by people who have no clue about restaurants or bars.  During my last visit, I really wanted to try a Blanton's bourbon.  Easy enough request... grab bottle, pour... right?  Not so easy, it seemed to come as a surprise to the bartender that they even carried Blanton's.  Once I convinced him it was a bourbon, he began the search for the bottle on the shelf.

The bottle was finally located and prepared for the glass, which brings me to what I hate most from everything I have seen at T&T.  They store all there glasses upright behind the bar, and they all look dusty!  He grabbed my glass and poured my $12 1.5oz of bourbon into the glass.  When he was about to deliver it, he noticed the glass was dirty... so he grabs another glass and transfers my $12 whiskey into that glass.  Only to immediately discover that glass is dirty too!!  So he finally transfers the $12 whiskey into the third glass that was deemed clean enough to serve and gave it to me....    thanks... I guess.

All I could think was.... man... I sure am glad these guys didn't make the whiskey!  Which by the way, Blanton's is delicious 10/10... would drink again.

I will go again to try some different beers and spirits, and if they get their act together - I promise to update this review.  On the bright side, they have no where to go but up.

Super tiny place, super busy, and super loud. The communal table in the middle of the room took up the majority of the space. One Zombie Killer-$9..*gulp*. Opted for the Dirty Bastard next.. $4.75, I can deal with that, Ordered a Pork Sandwich with a side of Mac & Cheese. Barely any meat on the bun-it was pretty much all bread with no flavor. The BBQ dipping sauce was basically a glorified ketchup..yuk! The Mac & Cheese was delicious but that was about it. I think it was our server's first time waiting tables...ever. He was horrible. He forgot numerous things. After the first beer, he never came back. We had to flag down someone else. We asked for a pitcher of water. He brought that out..but no glasses. My friend ordered the same thing as I, it came with cole slaw..none on her plate and no fork/napkin-had to ask someone else for that. I'm not feeling this place AT ALL. I'm glad Flint is opening up new restaurants...but.

This is an excellent new restaurant in downtown Flint. My first time by was during their original opening, and they were very busy -- the place was so packed it could easily put people off. This obviously was due to the popularity of their marketing efforts.

As of my writing this, on my second trip back, their restaurant is easily accessible, in terms of wait times -- plenty of open tables. The biggest issue is the lack of organization of their staff. It was difficult, upon walking in, to find a waiter to be seated, and it took them a while to serve us and to pick up our bill. However, their outdoor patio area was excellent today (perfect weather).

Their beer selection is good, featuring local brews. The patio, however, has a smaller selection (for both beer and food) than what you can get in the restaurant. Their sauce-less pulled pork sandwiches are served with the traditional slaw on top and are quite excellent.

I recommend stopping by and giving them a try -- I know I will be going back, and I will update.

Wonderful new barbecue place. There are tons of taps here rotating different Michigan craft brews as well as a wide range of old fashioned cocktail options made from quality liquors. The bar tenders are friendly, knowledgeable, give good recommendations, and are there to help you.

When I first sat down the bar tender was making a complicated liquor drink for a customer and said he would be with me in a minute. Five minutes passed, another man walked in and sat down next to me and was immediately was helped by a server who "can fetch beer but not make cocktails." I don't know if, because I'm a girl, he assumed I would be ordering a cocktail but I found this to be very rude as he had been standing there aimlessly the whole five minutes I had been waiting for the bar tender. The place will have to fix the communication between employees so people can expect the same wait time for service.

The food (I got the pulled pork sandwich with the cole slaw and the Mac and cheese as my side) was delicious. Warm, flavorful pork with crisp, tangy cole slaw. Mmm. The Mac and cheese had a wonderfully different corn bread crunchy topping. Genius for a barbecue place! The prices were a little steep for students, which I am, but on par with some of the newer, posher restaurants like Cork and Bar 501.

As the place is new, they are still working out kinks, which is the reason I knocked down a star. The taps are rotating differently than their written menu and they're unable to tell you with 100% certainty how long they will have a draft. They mentioned that they're considering keeping a set of popular drafts on tap but opened a month ago and are still discussing their options.

This place is owned by the same people who do the Flint Crepe Company apparently, which explains their commitment to quality ingredients and responding well to customer suggestions. I see a good future in this place. Please go!! We need to support our Flint eateries!!
