Best Taco Tuesday in town.  Whitney makes a mean margarita and you can't beat the $2 tacos, at least on Tuesdays.  The outside patio is small, but quaint.  The umbrellas and trees provide nice cover from the sun and patio is great for viewing the scenery on Walnut.

The food was was good, nothing was particularly inspired sticking to tried and true flavors. Still everything was very tasty, that said, the prices were absolutely absurd. If I was there alone I would have walked out after reading the prices but that wasn't really an option.

The cheapest tacos on the menu were $3.50, for a tiny taco, not the size of a standard tortilla but much smaller. Normally I am fully satisfied with 4 tacos at a taqueria so I ordered 3 since we ordered chips for the table. I could have easily devoured three more tacos at least.

Their margaritas were OK and the chips came in a large bag. However I will not come back due to the absurd price per taco.

The first true blue taco joint in Boulder that reminds me of Latin American Street vendors sans all the unsanitary elements. Even their chips are great - come to your table heated in a paper bag. Try the run of the menu but know that the Cheese taco is a go-to in case you get lost.

Boulder has plenty of average places to eat make good on your visit by spending your dime at one of the best.

Definitely a destination spot since it is easy to walk right by the entrance.

great fresh chips that are on the thinner side with the right amount of salt.  salsa sides were decent and the guac tasted like they made it for use with an avocado versus some bagged stuff.

order the skirt, snapper, shrimp and carnitas tacos. all very really good. well go back again

Cheap, delicious tacos in this trendy small restaurant. Service is a bit slow but the skirt steak and shrimp tacos are worth the wait.  They often have Groupon deals available online.

Aside from the good service and the utterly blinding decor, the food was missing the subtlest hint of classic mexican or nouveau inspired fusion spice.  The shrimp tacos were decent but I don't see myself returning.

Five bucks for a taco 3 inches in diameter?  NO!

I will tell you the tacos were tasty and the toppings were inspired.  But tacos are so inexpensive to make at home!  Dinner for 2 came to $45 and that was with a Groupon.  I don't mind spending $20-$30 a person for a great meal but tacos? Never again.

My guess is this business is doomed like the other 3 businesses that occupied this space before them.  My advice: Reduce your prices and get more folks in. This way you will live once the novelty wears off.

    Two things:

    1) Yum.
    2) Front of house manager Peter Waters is a wonderful host, makes you feel right at home.

Tasty tacos & margaritas along with a friendly bartender and exceptional customer service.

This little restaurant is off the beaten path and easy to overlook.  They have community seating along with a few private tables.

I had the daily special picadillo (beef) tacos and they were delicious. The tacos are small, so expect to eat 4 or more to get full.

    Will definitely return!

I have been here probably 10 times.  It has become our "go to" place which means when we want to grab a bite out we go here.  The margaritas are really good.  Make sure you aren't driving if you have 2.  The tacos are okay, I have tried just about everything on the menu but nothing really stands out other than the snapper.  The chips and salsa are great and the quaso is great.  The churros with honey or home made carmel are great.  If you just want a light dinner or snack and some killer marts, definitely the place to go.

Completely over-priced, loud, and mediocre food. They were out of steak, so we tried the chicken, cheese, veggie and pork belly tacos. We also had one marg. None of them tasted good... And then our bill came and it was over $70! This will be the last visit for us!

NOISY! Then again I think there was a very large party of sorts. The atmosphere is great. I hope they stay (i remember it was 2 sushi places, then pizza, and I love the food here!) The guacamole had some great flavor, and the tacos (snaper, carnitas, pork belly and the cheese) were delicious. Lots of good flavors, savory (not overwhelming) and I will say their house margarita hits the spot. Thanks for lovely meal!

This location doesn't seem to have much success near Pearl St, but hopefully T/aco will stick around!
We had a three course meal during the Boulder First Bite promotion. The ceviche that began the meal was delicious. If I go back, I'm getting a giant order and nothing else. Well, maybe not nooothing else because the tacos are also great. I am a pescetarian and both of the fish options were fresh. Snapper was my favorite.
My only criticism is that this place is super gringo. I love street tacos, but a large part of that is culture and experience. This restaurant has fully American decor and decoration, western style posters that seem to clash, and has kind of a crowded seating area.
They have a good lunch special, which might be the only time I'd go back because of the lack of ambiance.
    Regardless, it was delicious.

Full disclosure: when I went, it was during off-hours. However, being one of the only customers in the restaurant, I was a bit dismayed at what seemed to be an extreme novice waiter's (he must've been on day 1) initial overbearing attitude and then, complete absence. The food was good, but seemed a bit pricey and over-hyped. My date and I enjoyed chips and a variety of salsas which were okay. The tacos themselves were full of flavor, but small and messier than your average.

Super cute interior and ambiance, nice location, and great service.

I tried three of the tacos - the shrimp, the shredded pork, and the pork belly.

The shredded pork was excellent. The shrimp was ok, but nothing to write home about, and the pork belly wasn't to our taste. But more than anything else, the simple fact that all three tacos sported a cold corn tortilla did our enjoyment in. Probably just a point of preference, but I really think warming/grilling those tortillas would elevate the taco and make it worth the return trip.

I was not impressed with this place. The server acted like we were a pain from the get go because they were clearly short on staff and he had a few other tables sit down when we did. I'm more than happy to be understanding, but I do not need to be given an attitude when I ask a couple of basic questions about the menu.
The veggie taco was greasy and the shrimp was barely cooked, I was expecting to feel sick the next day after taking a couple of hesitant bites. It also annoyed me that they put all of our tacos on the same plate, I am a pescetarian (just eat fish) so I naturally prefer not to have my veggie or fish tacos touching the ones with meat in them...I know I sound picky to meat eaters, but vegetarians etc can relate.
My boyfriend enjoyed the food more than I did, so maybe this is a place that is better suited to those who eat meat.
The decor is cheesy and they need to take into consideration a better priced marg if one would like to have a step above a basic house marg. One other major downer was the music, I did not need to be listening to "yellow submarine" and all of this other silly music while I was trying to enjoy my evening!
    Won't be back anytime soon.

We have had lunch twice in the last several months using a Living Social and a Google Offers deal.  Their Happy Hour for 2 tacos and a beer seems to be a good value.  Chips and salsa were extra but you get a whole bag of warm chips.  The tacos were unique and not the typical Mexican taco. The flavors were yummy.  They're just a bit pricey.

Food is amazing, margs are delicious and price is right, but the last time I was there we had a crappy situation.
The bartender (who also appeared to be the manager) came to our table and asked if we would like a round of shots. We were celebrating a bachelorette (but had only had 1 drink each and dinner) so it was low key. We thought he was buying us a round of shots to celebrate-which we thought was the deal also because him and our waitress both did one as well.
When the bill came we were irritated to see we had been charged for the shots.
It seems really crappy that they would do that.
We were not happy. I will be back, but also be cautious of this. I hope it's not a frequent behavior.
    Bad form, T ACO.

I have to start by saying that Taco's are one of my favorite foods ever.  This is great, because they are also one of the easiest foods to prepare that exist.    Tequila is also one of my favorite things ever, so, this restaurant seemed like the perfect place.

Went in for happy hour with one friend, where they advertised 2 tacos and a beer for $7.     We each tried some different tacos, and ordered two margaritas.  I asked what kind of tequila was in their house margaritas, and upon hearing "sauza", decided to upgrade to El Tesoro, a pretty standard "top shelf" upgrade.    Major problem with this, but I will get to it in a moment.

    The Food:

The tacos were good, the preparation was nice, the tacos were a little messy, but almost impossible for a taco to not be, so no points off for this.   Apparently most tacos in Boulder are now all prepared with corn tortillas.  Kind of ambivalent on this choice, but in this case the tortillas seemed fresh and crisp.   The pork belly taco was the one I remember, pork belly has excellent flavor, and their version was excellent, I really enjoyed it.  The salsa was good also, midly spicy but in a good, flavorful way.

    The Service:

We came in after they had recently opened, I believe in the first two weeks.  The manager greeted us, and was very pleasant. He answered all of our questions, and gave us complementary sidecars of beer with our margaritas, which we thought was a nice touch.  The presentation of the food was nice, and very professional.     Every item was delivered as ordered, though there were again some issues which I will include under the drink portion of this review.    I am going to have to give them a really low score on tequila knowledge though, and their tequila selection was disappointing.

    The Drinks:

EXPENSIVE!   We had an overall good experience, but were blown away when we got our bill for 2 and it was $60!   It turns out, the El Tesoro upgrade on a margarita made each of them cost $15!   This is absolutely beyond excessive.  Half of our bill was 2 drinks?  As a repeat patron of Zolo, Tahona, and The Rio, I can say the price for a top shelf margarita is around $10, and should not ever, ever, be more.   More importantly,if it is, it is fair in my opinion to let the customer know that they are ordering a ridiculously expensive drink before just sticking it to them and hoping they don't notice when you bring the bill!   Honestly this was such a huge turn off I have not been back since.   It seems this restaurant is trying to compete with the above mentioned ones, by offering similar food, and a similar beer/margarit pairing experience, but if you are charging 75% more then your competition you shouldn't expect repeat business.

Overall:  3 stars because the service and food was good.   1 star off for the general lack of tequila selection, another one for gouging us on drinks without forewarning.

Went to T'aco on a living social coupon and thought it rocked!  They have some really interesting taco choices.  I'm a tightwad and thought they had some reasonably priced lunch specials (3 tacos or 2 tacos and a beer for $7).  My favorite was probably the pork belly with pickled onions.  The shrimp taco was pretty tasty as well.  My wife raved about the veggie taco and the snapper.

Next time I'll try the chips and salsa - didn't realize the chips were fresh.  Definitely going back.

I was excited when I heard about this place but a bit disappointed when I finally got to check it out.

First off, it seems clearly over priced to me. Someone below said that you can get two tacos AND a beer for $7....not even close...the tacos are $3.50-$4.50 and the beers are at least $4, so how they came up with $7 is beyond me.

The chips are amazing, super tasty, super fresh and definitely the highlight of the meal. I had all 5 salsas and two of them weren't bad but also weren't  very memorable, the others were below average in my opinion. I sampled several tacos and all of them were pretty good, but also not extremely memorable. I guess it's the downtown Boulder rent...but every one of those tacos should be $1 less than they want for them, it's easily over priced.

One more plus and negative. The waitress was nice but terrible at her job, she was incredibly inattentive but fortunately the manager must have realized that, as he kept coming by to check up on all of the tables, just not frequently enough.

$7 will get you two tacos and a beer. Even if the food was bad, that would be reason to go. But the food is amazing. I'm not Mexican, but if pork belly tacos are this good in Oaxaca, I'd consider hopping the border.

Not sure where you can do much better than this in Boulder for the quality of the tacos and the prices.  I wasn't expecting much but was really impressed with TACO.

We started with the chips and salsa where they let you choose three salsas.  The salsas are generally the puree kid but they were all quite good.  The chips were freshly made and came is a paper bag so they wouldn't get cold or dry out.  This is a much bigger deal than it seems and really encouraging to see.  So it was just chips and salsa in the long run but they took care of the details and it was really tasty.

We tried six different tacos between my wife and I and we liked them all.  The highlights were the skirt steak (the steak was cooked perfects and sliced in thin strips), the braised pork belly (as flavorful as you'd expect) and the pork shoulder (the pineapple was a nice touch).  They're all $3-4 and well worth it for the quality.

When all was said and done, we spent $30 between us (before tip) and had the best mexican inspired food that we'd had in Boulder.  It's not a food truck or "authentic" mexican, but it's great food at a really good price.

This place is awesome. Over the past few years I have seen restaurants come and go in this location. I pray that T|aco is here for the long haul. First and foremost the food is great. The Elote is damn near addicting. Also the Pork Belly taco is unreal. My only gripe is that the space feels kind of cramped. The bar area is kind of cluttered but no big deal. I'm here to eat not rate this places decor. The employees are fantastic as well.

Went here for lunch with my husband today and was blown away.  Flipping delicious.  Got the "elote" which is corn on the cob with a lime mayo and chili pepper rolled in grated cheese.  SO GOOD.  The red snapper tacos were by far the best that we tried.  Ahi tuna and veggie tacos coming in a close second.  Last, were the chicken tacos.  They were good...but definitely not as exciting as the others.  Come here if you want a delicious but light meal.  I left feeling good but not over stuffed!  (Also, waitress was excellent!)

I love the taqueria concept, and Pinche Tacos in Denver gets it so so so right that T'ACO had a lot to live up to.

Walked in for dinner last week and the table we were pointed to was still wet from being wiped down.  The person who directed us told us it was wet and suggested we might want to wipe it off with napkins before sitting.  Um, how hard is it for a busser to do a pass with a dry towel before customers are seated?  I would have waited the 10 seconds and appreciated the effort.  Overall the service was efficient but not overly friendly.

The food fell short of my (admittedly high) expectations.

Guacamole and chips - we thought the guac was too salty, especially because the chips also had a generous sprinkle of salt on them, but it was not inedibly salty.  I thought the radish slices were a nice touch.  The chips were too thick and seemed overfried or fried twice.

Tacos Overall - The tortillas were too thick and bland tasting.  Yes, they are a delivery mechanism for the filling, but the thickness detracted from the fillings.

Red Snapper - The sauce was super spicy and it overwhelmed the fish.  A spicy sauce should be noted on the menu.

Carnitas - Ugh, the meat was dry and there was no flavor.

Grilled Shrimp - The shrimp were barely warm and the texture felt slightly undercooked.

Maybe I'll go back and try some other tacos.  Maybe not.

Not impressed. To start off, we got a flyer offering some sort of deal like 2 tacos and a beer for $7, so we decided to try it out. Tacos are high up on my list of favorite foods, but we weren't expecting perfection since we know enough to realize that a new restaurant might have a few flaws.
We weren't greeted for a while and when we were sat, I had to sit on a booth/bench thing that wobbled around anytime anyone else seated on it moved. Not a blast.
The guy that filled our water was nice enough and further explained to us the $7 advertisment. He said there were 2 tacos that weren't offered in that deal, filled our waters and took off. We waited and waited but no one came to our table to take our order. The menu isn't extensive, so it doesn't take long to decide what you are going to order. A waiter arrived at the table next to us (they sat down much after we did) and took their order. They had also come in because of the $7 offer. The waiter explained to them that certain beers and certain tacos were off limits. Please note we could here everything that was being said next to us because the place is so small and the tables are really close together. Anyway, after about 20 minutes of sitting there, we asked the guy that filled our waters to find our waiter. A girl came over that had the most confused look on her face like someone had just pulled her in off the street and told her to wait tables. It was first of all weird that she was our waitress and not the guy waiting the table next to us, maybe they don't have sections? But whatever... We told her what we wanted and she told us basically that none of the stuff we wanted was allowed with the $7 deal. So basically we heard 3 different things from 3 different people about what we were allowed to order. So after sitting there so long, we decided to just go ahead and order what we actually wanted, and not what was offered in the ad. We ordered drinks and tacos, and the taco came out pretty quickly. I think we ordered one of each taco. They are very small, even for me and I like small portions. They were ok... None of the ones I tried were great- definitely not worth the price. So while we were eating our tiny tacos, we realized that we didn't have our drinks. The waitress was pretty terrible. She never came over to check on us and we had to flag her down in this tiny place and ask her if she could bring our drinks. She said she would, but no surprise- they didn't come. We finished our food and flagged her down again to tell her we didn't want them anymore since we were finished and ready to go. She ended up bringing them with our check saying that they weren't going to charge us for the beers because they were so late. We opened up the bill and guess what?! We got charged for the beers. At this point, we were so done with this place we didn't even dispute it. Paid the bill and walked out for good. Never going back. Never.

Went here for lunch today and I found it to be quite nice. I had the carnitas and the snapper, both of which were very good, and my wife had the veggie and the shrimp which she enjoyed. The carnitas with pineapple took the cake for me and the snapper reminded me of a bobby flay recipe with chipotle mayo (although flays are better). We enjoyed the chips and salsa as well. They are fried fresh to order which is great to get a bag full of hot chips. My one complaint would be that some of the chips were not fried long enough so they had a chewy texture which is obviously undesirable. I will be going back.

We sat outside here for lunch on a beautiful day and the food was really delicious  - the Steak and the Red Snapper took the cake for amazing flavor and textures, and their homemade salsas were delicious with a big bag of warm chips.

I wish I could say that I would go back, but unfortunately a combination of poor service and high prices makes this unlikely, despite how good the food was.  First off, the $7.50 lunch special sounded like a good deal, until you realize that it's not really lunch - it's more of a "snack".  Two very small (3-bite) tacos and a drink is not going to satisfy most people, and that's where the price balloons - $4 for chips, $4-5 more _per_taco for extras... ordering one additional taco each (for 2 people) and a plate of chips doubled the price.  It wouldn't cost them much to add rice & beans or a fresh slaw to the lunch special and make it more of a meal.

Second, the service - others have mentioned this but it was quite slow, the servers themselves seemed to run around fast but they didn't appear to be working very efficiently - for lunchtime especially when you're trying to get out and back to work, it was a bit annoying.  Ex, we wanted to order 2 additional tacos since we were still hungry from the first round, but the server had taken our pencil from the original order.  Instead of just listening to the order, we had to wait while they went inside, found us a new pencil, brought it out, and had us make two check marks on their order sheet.  Couldn't they have just done this themselves?

The biggest service blunder was that we ordered one Ahi taco in a soft shell and it arrived in a hard shell.  It's not a big deal, I just dislike hard-shells as there's no way to take a first bite without totally demolishing your taco - anyway, the server vanished inside and we weren't able to flag them down for a couple of minutes.   When we were able to point out the mistake, they checked the paper sheet and confirmed that the kitchen had messed up, but not wanting to waste the food or wait for another single taco, we said we'd keep it.  It was fine (not as good as the steak though), and  I expected they'd comp it on the bill... nope, we were charged the full price (almost $5 for a single taco) and the server said that we would get a free taco "next time".  That came in the form of a coupon tucked into the bill which looked like something they were putting into _every_ bill or giving out all over town - it felt more like an insult than an apology for their mistake.

Ultimately the food was great and we left quite satisfied, but it wasn't enough to overcome the service and the price.  We'll stick to the Comida truck at our office and save the trip downtown next time.

Hmmmm, thick, dense tortillas with a stale texture. Authentic tacos, no!  The tacos were so so, just not a great tacos place.  Comparison?  I really cannot compare this place to any other "ok" places in Mexico or even to Longmont.

This place is my new favorite spot in Boulder. Perfect margs, an array of delicious salsas, fresh guacamole... and the TACOS! I have come back three times in a week since they opened for the fresh red snapper taco with radish and avacado, the cheese taco with crispy grilled cotija cheese, fresh salsa verde and tomato, but really what makes this place a hidden gem is the focus on traditional flavors and ingredients. Most "homemade" tortillas are made with a machine. T/aco's machine is a sweet lady named Esmerelda who  makes the most perfect tortilla you've ever tasted.

This place is about to become the next best legend in Boulder. You will NOT be disappointed!
