Tailgators is a hole in the wall kind of place, a long, windowless, stand-alone building I was not too excited to enter.  Seeing it is the closest place that serves alcohol I had to give it a try.

I was surprised. On a week night, the place was full of patrons of all ages. There were 20 somethings (not college kids) drinking mixed drinks and bottles, some working stiffs drinking City Brew out of a can, and some of the die-hard old timers also drinking City Brew out of a can. I liked the place already.

I sat next to a geezer which I immediately regretted but it would have been rude to move! He was a few drinks past polite discussion but he decided to give it a go anyway.

Bourbon and coke for the hubby, Spotted Cow for me. The bartender had to give me a taste first since it hadn't been pulled all day (with all the cans of City Brew I guess I can see why). It was still good. More expensive than the other two places in the area at $5.50.

The place is a dark, smokey, local watering hole. People go there to DRINK. And despite it's lack of any sort of charm and pathetic attempt at a "gator" theme, I really liked the place.
