Oh yeah, this place was awesome. Â Not only does Snuffy's have inexpensive alcoholic beverages (as do most places in La Crosse), but they have deep fried food for next to nothing. Â I think we were paying from 1 to 3 dollars per item, the portions were small, but they were a good size for a variety of orders. Â Â
I caught the Packer game here last night and my was I surprised; the bar was rowdy at first, before the Packers' epic loss to the Giants, but then it calmed down drastically. Â I was with a group of about 5 friends and we must have ordered 5-7 different fried food items: Â Chicken strips, Spicy hot chicken strips, pizza bread, spicy chicken tacos, etc. Â
This place is great.  Food for that price is a steal, and  you won't break the bank getting full.  Also, by the time I left I was almost hammered enough to not drive home and I still had a twenty in my pocket for what lay ahead.  SWEET! Â
The bar is pretty large and there are plenty of seats, it is a wide-open room with pool tables, and plenty of other games, I believe they have Texas Hold em' games going throughout the week. Â
Service was pretty interesting, the bartender alerted to me that my order was done by shining a spotlight in my face while I played pool. Â I was confused and almost blinded at first, but his efforts were effective. Â I haven't had an epiphany like that in years. Â
For the price this place is brilliant, I believe I paid a dollar for most tap beers and maybe a $1.50 for a bottle. Â I gave more in tips than what I spent in beers. Â I was moderately buzzed by the time the Packers finally succumb to the Giants, even though I knew the outcome before halftime. Â
By the looks on everyones' faces at the end of the game I could tell this was a Packer bar, most of the patrons had exited and the rowdy cheers from earlier were all but silenced by the great defeat. Â
I could watch the game on 1 of the 6-8 huge televisions they had, and there was a pretty decent guy/girl ratio. Â
The only thing this bar did not have:  boxes of  tissues for the Packer fans, and uplifting reading to encourage people against making bad decisions when their team loses.  I was a little disappointed with the somber attitude of most all of the patrons by the time I left.  At the time the final score came in I felt like I was at a wake, the Packers had died.  I literally was the only person smiling; however, it could have been the game. Â
All in all for price and options this place is spot on. Â Snuffy's is a great sports bar with generous specials and interesting, yet friendly service!!!
Go here and raise your glass. Â CHEERS!
