We really enjoyed our meal tonight at Taku! The food was very good and our server, Ellen, was delightful! I had the teriyaki chicken; it was tender and juicy and the fried rice was delicious. My husband had the steak & chicken combo. The steak was perfectly cooked and juicy, not at all dry for well done. We can't wait to go back! We will be asking for Ellen!!
Review Source:I'm a fan of this type of restaurant and cuisine so I am a bit one sided. The restaurant out preformed my exceptions. Great sushi this trip it was just what I wanted. They have an excellent menu selection for fans of Japanese dishes and those who don't want anything crazy. I need to mention the decor is very sway. Don't let this scare you because the food is pocket friendly as well. Drink a Sapporo and eat some sushi. Kampai !!!
Review Source:Beautiful decor - very classy and modern. Â The waiting area is large - the place was pretty packed when we went, and the wait was only 20 minutes to be seated (probably longer with a large group - we learned they'll take reservations with a group of 8+). Â But the FOOD! Â We ate on the teppanyaki side...I had the chicken, my husband had the steak. Â The food was spectacular and our chef was very entertaining! Â We had a blast - what a great place for a date night. Â The lady next to us had sushi (shrimp tempura/cucumber/American Dream roll) and it looked spectacular - she said it was phenomenal and she'd probably come back ONLY for the sushi! Â She said she's had to drive to Indy for sushi for so long and this was super fresh and tasty.
The service was perfect too - surprising since they just opened - but it was perfect!
Anyway, I'll be back for more teppanyaki and I'll probably stop by during a lunch to try some sushi. Â
P.S. if you sit on the teppanyaki side (with the chef at your table, cooking), you have to order off of the teppanyaki menu. Â I only mention that because the group next to us didn't know. Â But the menu is labeled well...they just didn't know. Â So plan to order teppanyaki if you're at the teppanyaki table!
