Tanners is the definition of neighborhood sports bar. They've got good food, a good selection of drinks and there's a lot of room and a lively atmosphere most of the time. It will never be the most amazing sports bar of all time, but it's never let us down.

We went to Tanners for the Wednesday night $5 hamburgers. When we walked in, it had a ton of promise:  neon lights, big screen tvs, and a quickly-filling dining room.  We sat down and ordered some beer.  (No prices on the beer list, but the waitress said all domestics were a certain price.  I ordered a local beer but was up charged.  Isn't Nebraska a "domestic" location?).  Other than the beer snafu, service was great.  We were a group of 8 with three small children, and the waitress was willing to split menu items for the kids, complete with plates and silverware for each.  The little ones had mini corn dogs and milk.  The adults all ordered burgers.  The menu said that all burgers would be cooked to at least 155 degrees. Forget that--no burnt hockey pucks for me.  Despite the warning on the menu, the waitress took meat temperature orders. So, I gave it a shot and said "make it as rare as you can."  She didn't bat an eye.  Everyone else went with medium.
The food came out quickly as did the drink refills.  My rare burger came out medium.  I asked for extra  burger veggies and got them, too.  The fries were crinkle fries--sadly, the cooks missed the mark and served them undercooked.  Other than the temperature, my burger tasted great.  I finished off with a limp dill pickle spear.  All in all, I was happy, but I was hungry and I love cold beer and burgers.  Everyone else at the table left disappointed--their medium burgers orders came out well done.  Over-cooked burgers and undercooked fries just didn't hit the mark.

Good food, great TV access, nice bar.  More of a family friendly place than a bar you get super loose in.

    Excellent service.

The service here was great, the waitress was in a fantastic mood and we were having some great sarcastic banter with her.  The food, a burger, was a little underdone to suit me.  Now I do love steak tartare, but I am not comfy with undercooked hamburger in a sports bar.  I suspected, however, if I sent it back, I would get a charred dried out piece of cardboard.  So I sucked it up and ate it.

The food was basically average, like every other sports bar I have ever been to.  Tons of screens with all kinds of games.  The place is clean and nice.  Overall I enjoyed it.

I love this place for a football Saturday, or just a great place to relax. Good wings, and tacos. Enjoyable place.

The food was on par with our other visits but it took around 45 minutes to get it.  And when we did finally get it, my wife's order of chicken lips was not what she ordered.  The server took it back without any issues but it took at least another 30 minutes to get the correct order.  By that time, I was already done eating so she decided to box-up her food and take it home.  In my experience, most restaurants wouldn't charge for the messed up order.  So you would think that Tanner's management would do the same thing, right?  Wrong.  The manager took a mere $3 of our bill.  Talk about cheap...

One of the local places my family frequents the most.  Food is very good and service is usually good.  My favorites are the philly, southwestern turkey sandwhich and the black & blue burger.  The O-rings are very good too.

The food is ok, but I go here for the beer and the television screens set up to watch football, and such. Its nice for what it is, and that is a typical strip mall bar/food joint in west Omaha. This one isn't as stuck up as most in west O, so for that, I'll give it four stars.

Pleasantly surprised. We went here because I was given a Groupon to the place. The food was better than I had expected (try the chicken tortilla soup!), the service was very good, but the atmosphere was great. Went on a football Sunday. Each TV (and there are plenty) was tuned to a different game; each labeled with the game playing on that TV. You sat where ever you had the best view if your team. It was great!  I will be back.

A casual bar type place. I usually get the Rueben sandwich with tator tots. Tator tots are kinda fun to get out - especially at a bar. The Rueben is slightly above average....but usually served fresh and warm.
I liken Tanners to a typical casual bar type food joint....but usually the food is to par. Not horrible, but not spectacular.

Went here again last night. Great service, awesome nachos, killer wings and some of the best fish tacos around.

Best wings in the country! Sorry Plucker's in Austin, TX, this place has got them! Blair or Blare or I don't know Heaven Wings! My mouth is salivating at this very moment just thinking about them. Tanners wings are huge and the taste is indescribable. I think they grill them instead of fry which I was at first hesitant about but then SHABAM! The flavor is just amazing! They also have a decent beer selection and a small outside area for the dying breed of smokers that are slowly going extinct (me). If you are reading this and you are in Omaha please send me some Blair Wings. . . . please. . . . . pretty please? No? okay thats cool, I get it. Please?

One of the best places for a burger that I'm aware of west of 72nd street.

As far as a lunch spot, it's kind of a 'manly' place.  i.e. when I go here it's always at the suggestion of my male co-workers and when we get there it's probably 95% filled with male diners.  The burgers (which I refuse to call by their actual name: 'boogers') are good, especially the blu burger which is a group favorite.  And the chicken lips are absolutely drenched with wing sauce.

Definitely not a place for anyone on a diet or counting calories.

Once, after eating at Tanners, I had to go home and take a nap in the middle of the day. Yeah, it's that kind of meal...

I've also been to Tanners once to watch a Husker game.  As I recall, they have good drink specials for game days as well - and plenty of TVs to watch the game.
