Tap House 1233

I eat here about once a week and I'm never disappointed. Daily specials, great prices on everything, friendly staff, even the owners are great and help out whenever theyre around. Small town sports bar, 2 pool tables, lots of tvs, jukebox; the usual. I honestly have nothing bad to say about this place. If youre in the area and want some delicious food that won't even come close to breaking the bank, Taphouse is the place for you :D

So I've gone to this Lake Station, Indiana bar/restaurant before, and every time I have been recently it has been worse than the last. I've walked out the last two times. They have a good kitchen and nice specials. The last two times it has been because of the men who appear to be the owners giving dirty looks to me and my friends. Also they like to close rather early, even if the bar is busy and the other bars along the Central Avenue strip are still open.
Tonight was their $2.50 burger and fries special. I walked in, sat at the bar, and asked for a menu. A man who I believed not only to be one of the owners, but also a little tipsy asked to see my ID. I showed him my passport. He laughed and asked for a driver's license. I told him I'm waiting for my license and only had a paper one. He said he couldn't take either form of identification. I showed him my birthdate on the passport, but he said no. I told him that it has gotten me in and out of 8 COUNTRIES, so why should a legal document not work in his bar for a beer and a burger? He just looked at me and laughed. I told him that I could get a beer and a burger ANYWHERE and walked out. My money is green everywhere.
This place has zero customer service even for a dive bar. I'd recommend going to Ruthie's Central Lounge, or The Flamingo in Miller for food, which is where I went after I left there.
