Didn't pay their staff while in training before they opened up or while working there. My daughter started there before they opened approx. March 2012 and quit May 2012 after receiving only one paycheck. Â After she left various other workers who finally got a check from them said their paychecks bounced. Â I hear they are opening up under new name in the Buffalo area, so they can rip more employees off.
Review Source:Taps fulfilled my Buffalo Wing and Beef on Weck craving. Â We ate in the bar. Â
It took a few minutes to get the bartender's attention, but, he was busy. Â The only one serving a large area. Â It was a Saturday, and, we weren't in a huge rush so whatever.
And a pint of Yuenling for $ 3.50? Â You kidding me? Â I will have 2 please (which I did). Â
Overall a nice experience and friendly bartender. Â Will go back.
STAY AWAY! Â Wait staff were nice but that's where it ends. Inexperienced cooks, mediocre food, and very poor management.
As a family of 5 with 3 teenage girls we went here for dinner after shopping. A lot of things not available - no coke, no asparagus, no pork shops, and apparently (after our food arrived), no squash for the zucchini/squash veg. Â
We ordered 4 steaks medium-rare. 1 was cooked nicely, and the other 3 were RAW in the center!  OK, it was a mistake. They took it back and 1 of the 3 still returned slightly less raw.  We asked for the manager, and one big burly guy with a beard eventually came over.  He offered to take the 1 steak off the bill, but suggested that next time we  "order up" how it's prepared, to medium or medium well.  This guy actually believed it was OUR fault the steaks came out raw.
At no point was there an apology of any sort from this manager or acknowledgement that a mistake was made. Â We raised our voices in protest, at which point he snatched the bill back, and muttered "it's on the house... have a nice day" as he quickly walked away.
Wow.
Pass on this one! Â Food quality was so so - who gives a rare hamburger to a child? Â Fish in the fish and chips was frozen fillets and while ingredients in the caprese panini were fresh - it was under done. Â They did sub veggies for fries with no up charge. Â Service was also lacking - waiter was semi attentative while checking his phone and calling everyone "buddy". Â No offer of coffee or dessert either. Â Glad we used a groupon and didn't pay full price for this poor experience.
Review Source:Horrible service and below average food. Â I would not recommend or go back. Â I ordered the banana pepper appetizer and for 9.99 I thought they had to be joking when it came ti the table 45 min later and consisted of one avg sized pepper and one tiny pepper. Â it was very bland and unsatisfying. The burger I ordered came out at the exact same time as the appetizer. Â Tasted ok but not great. Â Server dropped the food and ran off never came by to check on us.
Review Source:I agree with just about everything the other reviewer said... this place felt weird inside even though we couldn't really pinpoint why. The food prices were reasonable but the drink prices were way too high.
The service was great - the only redeeming quality. The waitress was really, really nice but we got the sense that management is unexperienced.
There is nothing really special about this place with the exception of their beer list - hence the name "Taps." Well, we each order a drink from the beer menu and both of them were unavailable. Â The waiter (who appeared to be in training) who took our drink order brought me the wrong drink (a raspberry martini instead of a cider?)... I said I wouldn't mind keeping it but I didn't want to pay the $9.50 they would typically charge (for 2.5oz of filler and .5oz of liquor... no thanks). Â I didn't really want the drink, but I felt like it would be a waste otherwise. They did not agree, the drink was whisked away and I was told the drink I did order was not available. Thought that was odd, and ended up having an iced tea.
The food was okay, nothing great. The menu was boring - your basic 4 salads (ceasar, buffalo, oriental, greek), one chicken sandwich, a few burgers, and some pizzas.
The apps looked interesting but we weren't that hungry. The only thing i would consider coming back for is some apps and a drink for happy hour, maybe - but with the price of the drinks, maybe not.
Taps @ Walden galleria mall.  Waitress was great.  Great service.  Didn't like atmosphere.  A little plain and dry.  My husband agreed .  Menu limited.  Prices are reasonable.  My glass was dirty. I mean really dirty.  Dried up food inside glass.  Waitress really apologetic .  Food was average. The dessert- 6.99. Small selection.  They were out of three of the 6 choices of desserts .  We Ordered what was  basically a fancy name for pecan pie.  It was OK.  But for 6.99, you received a slice about the size of your two fingers put together .  Good thing I used a "wkbw savings for you" coupon because I would have been a bit  disappointed.  This restaurant does not compare to the other restaurants in the "Walden Galleria Mall".  I will be surprised if they last a year in that location or at all.
