Taqueria Mi Rinconcito

For Augusta, Georgia... great!... but can definitely step up their game.  Had two flautas and ordered three carnitas tacos.  lacking on the carnitas: could have given more meat. Prices are not bad but comparing to Socal mex style food, I could have gotten better tasting and more food.  I can definitely say for Augusta, Georgia, unless your family themselves makes mexican food, this place rocks.

This place is ok. If you dont look Hispanic you won't get the best service so dont expect it. Waiters are pretty passive. They take your order and leave without a single smile. If they smiled it would surely boost my experience by a whole star :) I'm huge on customer service. As for the food, tacos are great. Tortillas are made by hand and the tacos de lengua (tongue) are moist and delicious! A lot of Mexican restaurants in the area sell you "sopes" but don't actually give you sopes they basically give you tostadas. This place has legit sopes with the hand made boats so if you want to try it buy them here. Salas are nice and spicy too just like I like them.

One bite of the taco de carnitas sent me back to Mexico for just that second. Me hizo recordar cuando estuve en Mexico cominendo sabroso tacos con un Jarrito y...oh sorry about that.

While this isn't the best taqueria I have eaten at, it is by far the best in this region. Taqueria Mi  Rinconcito is a family run place with traditional recipes. Check the photos!

I have been here a few times and always order up a batch of the $2 tacos. This time around I chowed down on some carne asada, pollo asado, and pastor. They prepped them just how I like with cilantro, diced onions and a lime wedge. I have tried every taco they offer and the carnitas is still my favorite. The flavor, quality and tenderness beats out the rest.

My wife picked up some tacos and a gordita. I wouldn't recommend the gordita to anyone as it was just a lot of bread and lettuce.

I would recommend this place to anyone who has ever had REAL Mexican food before or is looking to get more than the standard imitation garbage offered at the chains with their Margarita Mondays.
