For Augusta, Georgia... great!... but can definitely step up their game.  Had two flautas and ordered three carnitas tacos.  lacking on the carnitas: could have given more meat. Prices are not bad but comparing to Socal mex style food, I could have gotten better tasting and more food.  I can definitely say for Augusta, Georgia, unless your family themselves makes mexican food, this place rocks.

This place is ok. If you dont look Hispanic you won't get the best service so dont expect it. Waiters are pretty passive. They take your order and leave without a single smile. If they smiled it would surely boost my experience by a whole star :) I'm huge on customer service. As for the food, tacos are great. Tortillas are made by hand and the tacos de lengua (tongue) are moist and delicious! A lot of Mexican restaurants in the area sell you "sopes" but don't actually give you sopes they basically give you tostadas. This place has legit sopes with the hand made boats so if you want to try it buy them here. Salas are nice and spicy too just like I like them.

One bite of the taco de carnitas sent me back to Mexico for just that second. Me hizo recordar cuando estuve en Mexico cominendo sabroso tacos con un Jarrito y...oh sorry about that.

While this isn't the best taqueria I have eaten at, it is by far the best in this region. Taqueria Mi  Rinconcito is a family run place with traditional recipes. Check the photos!

    - Only $2 tacos!
    - Sit down and enjoy your free chips
    - Delicious Horchata
    - Fairly lean meat
    - Decent service
    - Flavor-packed meat
    - Watch the upcharge for the refills
    - Perfectly spicy salsa verde

I have been here a few times and always order up a batch of the $2 tacos. This time around I chowed down on some carne asada, pollo asado, and pastor. They prepped them just how I like with cilantro, diced onions and a lime wedge. I have tried every taco they offer and the carnitas is still my favorite. The flavor, quality and tenderness beats out the rest.

My wife picked up some tacos and a gordita. I wouldn't recommend the gordita to anyone as it was just a lot of bread and lettuce.

I would recommend this place to anyone who has ever had REAL Mexican food before or is looking to get more than the standard imitation garbage offered at the chains with their Margarita Mondays.

I am 100% mexican and i have to say the food was great! I ordered the tacos de tripa and a gordita. I also ordered an agua de horchata and it was delicious. The price is very affordable... My family of 4 ate for $31.00! ***note if u like spicy salsa ask for the green salsa for your complimentary chips!

Still delicious! This time we had the lunch special fajitas and tried the chicken gorditas.
The fajitas were par for the course as far as cheap lunch specials go, but it was filling. And the gorditas were delicious. Handmade fried tortilla rounds filled with yummy seasoned chicken.
The only thing we really hated was that the people sitting in the booth behind us only finished about two thirds of their food. What. The. Heck? It doesn't matter to me if people get full too quickly, or don't like the food, but GEEZUS ask for a to-go box or something. There are people like me out there who consider it to be a real treat to get to go to a restaurant and have a cheap $9 meal. We've been through hell and back, and long periods where we had NO food at all! And then to look over and see all of that waste? Ugh.

It's in an awful little strip mall, but Taqueria Mi Rinconcito serves up some solid Mexican fare.

Tacos here are two bucks a piece, and they're worth every penny. These are good-sized tacos, with hefty meat portions served on some seriously thick (and likely handmade) corn tortillas. The pastor, served with pineapple, is admittedly pretty average; it's flavorful, but there's no way this stuff came off of a spit. The carnitas, on the other hand, are perfectly textured, with that great blend of succulent and crispy you'd expect from a roasted pork shoulder.

Complimentary chips and salsa are served as soon as you walk in and take your seat. The chips, likely fried in house, are great, and the accompanying salsa is a vinegary and watery concoction that's ... okay, I suppose. Your actual meal is served with a much thicker green salsa -- one with a bit of a kick.

The rest of the menu is about what you'd expect, with an entire page devoted to lunch specials. The usual aguas -- horchata, tamarindo, jamaica -- are all available. And there's a selection of bottled beers. Nothing special, just Bud Light, Coors Light, Corona, Negra Modelo, and the like.

The restaurant's interior is a bit of a mess -- a useless menu board, two different Spanish-language channels blaring from either side of the dining room, a cluttered open kitchen, a restroom with a finicky lock and a broken handle on the faucet -- but I left the place pretty happy.

Seriously, WHY did it take me this long to find this place?

The first time I came, it had me in tears... the flautas reminded me of San Diego... as did the salsa (aaaaaaaand the super spicy salsa verde - YUM!) Take into account that I felt like I was at home in those little booths with telenovelas playing in the background - and I was a happy little camper.

Is it the best Mexican food I've had while in Georgia? HECK YES.

On top of that - they have some pretty sweet deals... I'm talking ridiculous $4.75 combo meals at lunch. ...add to the fact that they have a pretty decent selection of imported beers and complimentary chips and salsa - and this is my kind of place!

Their carne asada is not what I'm used to from back home (or in TJ even) - but I attribute that to Mexico's regional cuisine differences - as the family seems to be from further south in Mexico.

Nonetheless, it's all good - and I am SO pleased at their salsas and the food that I've been here twice in the past week.

Oh, and their beans........ YES. that's all I have to say. and the guac.... *love*

Also, they serve menudo on Saturdays and Sundays - apparently. YAY!

    :) Check it outtttttt.
