    I don't understand this place. The staff seems like either they aren't trained or they think they own the place. The atmosphere is odd and so is the menu.

    I was hoping for it to be a cool place to hang out at since it is so close to my house but we have given it a try 3 times and never been impressed.

    We come to Theo's for Live Trivia every week and it has been a lot of fun. However, it has been a little hard on the wallet and we have some feedback regarding prices and dishes.  To start, we love the Claybrook Farms burger, the filet burger, the chicken wings and the drinks.  We have been disappointed about the appetizers though.  We most recently had the shrimp lollipops and were disappointed in the quality and quantity of shrimp.  We didn't feel that they were worth almost $9 to get just six small shrimp.  We also wish that there was more of a variety in the appetizers as one meat dish and the rest as fish for appetizers is not very appealing.  Even something as simple as chips and salsa would be more appealing and have a lower price point.  We do love coming in, but it is hard to pay up to $70 every meal for drinks and dinner.  When we went to other bars for trivia, we could have a few appetizers and some drinks for $20-30 and it is hard to do that at Theos.  We know you are in the business of making money and are serving a certain niche market, but we would like to see a little more variety.  We have a hard time figuring out what kind of restaurant Theos is attempting to be; upscale restaurant?  Local bar?  What's the niche market you are trying to serve?  We live right next door and it is super convenient and the staff is so so nice and SUPER fun, we just have to be able to afford it.

    We were in Memphis for just one night and a friend, a musician who has heard of the piano players, suggested we meet there for dinner/drinks.  What a treat!  For no cover charge we enjoyed Hudson & Saleeby, a terrific keyboard duo with a great repertoire, super spontaneity and beautiful vocals.  The crowd was mostly in their 40-s to 50's, with some 20 somethings who seemed to be enjoying themselves as well.  But the food was an incredible treat.  I ordered the filet burger and a salad--the chopped veggies were super fresh--definitely not from a bag.  The bun was homemade whole wheat and the filet burger was lean but delicious.   Even the tomatoes were phenomenal--and this was at the end of October.  We learned later that they have a relationship with a local organic farm.  My husband got the wings and said they were extremely well prepared.  Fresh--not fried, seasoned to perfection.  So not your typical bar food at all.  We tried a couple of specialty cocktails which were fine, nothing spectacular, and ended up with classic margaritas. We were pleasantly surprised at the check.  The manager and waiter were friendly and attentive and it was a very special night.  If I lived in Memphis, this would be a regular spot for us.
