I have been conducting a research study of wine and human [social] psychology (Yes. For the fun of it.).  I knew that I had to hit every local wine bar to really gauge what draws us to them.  Good excuse, right? Three Cellars has much more than your standard selection of wine; they have plenty of beers to choose from and a great patio.  Plus, you get great wine value for the price.  However, there was something that broke my cork: the oeno-tender's repetitive pitch on the wine- and beer-by-the-glass options offered the day I dropped in. Each person that walked up to the bar received  the same description--ver batim--on how the Malbec is "laughingly referred to as 'liquid crack" and how "Germans don't make lagers, etc." As I sat sipping my misnomer Malbec, I was disappointed to hear the broken record AND by how nonaddictive my wine was.  I task the staff with being aware of customers, so each one is treated to a new introduction of their wine and beer offerings.  Keep it fresh and less sterile, so customers feel the genuine, personal touch that seems otherwise present when first greeted in the shop.
Review Source:The owner is a really nice guy who is passionate about his business. Â I love the selection and if they don't have it, they will try and get it for you. Â My favorite thing is the wine and beer tastings. Â It makes me more confident when I purchase a bottle of something I've never tried before. Â I did like the 27th Street location better, but it's still worth the visit.
Review Source:If you like good quality beer of a wide variety, this is the place to go. We live in Glendale, but regularly make the 30 minute drive.
They have a whole wall of domestic and imported beers. You WON'T find the mainstream brands like Miller, Bud, Coors, etc. But you will find a tremendous range of great beers. And you can mix up your own six packs.
On Saturdays they have free beer and wine tastings, generally based on some sort of theme.
The owner and staff couldn't be nicer and are clearly very passionate and knowledgeable about beer and wine.
