I agree with Tony K. Â Never again.
Stopped in on Memorial Day evening, about 6:30pm, with two friends of mine (we're all between the ages of 44 and 58). Â Decided to have a beer and some food, as we really had nothing else going on. Â Had the sliders, the eggplant and an Italian Beef between the three of us. Â While the food is decent and the beer tasted fresh and clean from the tapper, I will not be returning, even though it's two minutes from my house.
I stepped outside for a smoke with my buddy just in time to see a group of people standing around a guy whose shirt was being pulled over his head by another dude who was beating him in the face with his other hand. Â When I exclaimed "What the F***, guys?", they stopped, but I was informed that I should just "walk away". Â I reported this to the bartendress, and the bouncers were made aware of the altercation, but guess who was in the bar not five minutes later shooting pool and drinking a beer? Â Mr. Tough-Guy.
This was the third time I've been in the place since it opened, and every time I have seen an abundance of patrons being over-served.
Also, while our bartendress was fairly attentive to our drinks, she obviously wasn't thrilled to be waiting on old farts like us.
Typical pick-up joint for twenty-somethings. Â Unless you like bar fights and overserved idiots, stay away.
Ok. It has been a year and a half since my first review of this place and it is not good for them. To say that this place has gone downhill is insulting to hills. I used to like the 'vibe' of the place; lively, fun and friendly. Not so much anymore.
First it just started getting LOUD. They turn up the PA so freakin loud after about 6pm that you have to shout at the person sitting next to you. Next they have switched from glass beer and drink glasses to plastic!! EEEEKKKKK!! Not cool. I understand that it is cheaper and you don't break as many plastic cups, but maybe there would be less breakage if you turned down the music and kept out the idiots!
Oh ya, I forget to mention the idiots. This place has become over-run with 'em. I can only imagine what a bar on the Jersey Shore would be like, but I could imagine it being similar to this. It is getting seriously dopey in there. After a few hours in there you can actually feel your IQ dropping from being around these dipsh*ts.
Finally, the staff. It used to be that the servers were all young, attractive and friendly. They are still young and attractive but friendly they are not. Unless you are a beefed up dude with hair product and a hat size larger than their IQ, you don't exist. I know I am in my 40's. I don't need to be looked down upon by them because of it. Hell, I can afford to tip them. The Beefcakes can't even figure out 15% with their smartphones. (Not that they tip anyway. Just being seen around them is tip enough I guess.)
Now I understand that a business needs to make money, but if they continue on in this path, they will not be around in a year. Police activity has risen. Clientele is getting worse. And the neighborhood is likely to revolt. Not a good mixture for prolonged success.
So in conclusion, stay away from Mad Dog's unless you want to live out your Jersey Shore fantasies. I know I will and plan to try to avoid this mess of a bar from now on.
Like water street in greenfield. Shoot me now. Â
Maybe I shouldn't be so harsh - but it just ain't my venue. Â Security guards are everywhere to control the 40-somethings who think they're 20-somethings. Â They serve your drinks in glass-like plastic cups and I can only imagine because the 40-somethings get so drunk they can't keep their drink on the table.
Oh and there's a stripper pole. Â
Never, again.
