I'm left with the feeling of, "what am I missing?" Â 3DC was the only place I hadn't been in the immediate Norcross area so I said what the heck. Â The waitress lacked personality and was very slow especially since we stated we were on lunch when we sat down. Â I had the buffalo shrimp and they were huge. Â However for $10.95 I'd rather have smaller shrimp with an order of fries. Â The other ladies complained of the lack of seasoning in the food and I didn't feel compelled to try anyone else's dish. Â I understand it's bar food however I've been to plenty of bars where the food was much better.
Verdict: I don't see myself rushing back anytime soon if at all.
The  Meh rating is all do to with the service.   Today I took the work team of 7 people out to lunch at the Three Dollar Café on Peachtree Parkway and as I have worked in the area for years I and an expectation about the how fast we would be served based on the time of day 12:15. I packed my patience.  I knew there would be lots of people and service could be affected.  However, the service we received was beyond the usual delay.  I thought on two separate moments that our table had been forgotten completely.  It took over 20 minutes for our order to be taken from the time we sat down on the patio and over an hour from the time we sat down for our food to trickle to the table one plate at a time.  One poor guy in our party had to wait an ADDITIONAL 10 minutes for his food after the table.  During this time no wait staff or manager came out to let us know what was happening or offer apologies for the delay.  No offer of refills on the beverages, no general is everyone ok.  Nothing.  Crickets and tumbleweeds.  Indeed when the table next to us, which had been seated afterwards with just as many seats in their party, was served their piping hot food within 30 minutes,  the wait staff kept their eyes averted from our starving faces.  I total understand that there is a lunch rush and a kitchen can become overwhelmed but this is where customer service is essential.  Our server was MIA, I went inside to seek help from the manager or anybody  and that was a underwhelming experience to say the least.  "I'm sorry its taking so long, I'm not the cook" was the response I got.  The food wasn't bad but the wait and the bad service took its toll and nobody was happy.   So when our building has company $ to spend or we take our teams out to lunch, TDC is struck from the list.  Bad service will kill any dining experience.

Review Source:Its late and the hostess is on her cell phone with her cigarettes on the counter. Our food came out fast but still cool. High tops in the bar were all dirty and it was NOT crowded. I was upset that it was dirty because 3 dollar was always a late night bar back when 3 dollar ruled Atlanta.
Review Source:It's good to have this one time Atlanta staple back in the Norcross area. Three Dollar Cafe has had two different Norcross locations in the past that were not long-lived, (probably due to the actual locales themselves). Hopefully they will do better in this rejuvenated shopping center at the intersection of Peachtree Parkway and Holcomb Bridge road.
This Three Dollar Cafe has a solid menu of favorites (it will differ somewhat if you refer to the corporate on-line menu) and service is pretty good for a brand new spot...
There are a ton of televisions for 'sports' and they have a well-stocked bar with myriad beer choices. But we were there for the food.
We tried the grouper sandwich, which turned out to be fantastic. The fish served is much larger than the bun and we choose to have it blackened. They did a good job with the "blackening" (having recently been to another nameless establishment where the "blackening" was dismal.)
Onion rings are large and you could tell they were freshly cut. The cheesesteak was a solid choice, brimming with meat and onions (Grouper still better though.)
