This was my first time eating the buffet here.  In past years I had heard positive things about their buffet.  But I was disappointed and overheard others commenting they felt the quality of this buffet had declined over the past year or so.  I would recommend Red Hawk casino as having a much better buffet.  Also, if you are a senior, I would suggest you not go to Thunder Valley on Wednesdays for the extra senior discount.  The lines were very long even after 2pm!  Not worth saving an extra $3 or so.

I was so happy I stayed here!  The rooms were Four Seasons quality!  Absolutely not what I expected since its in the middle of nowhere.  I loved the bar.. drinks are cheeeaaaappp!  The service is beyond excellent and the in room dining was some of the best we have ever had!!  I saw so may reviews that gave this hotel a negative spin but they have to be fake..It is one of the nicest hotels I have ever stayed in!!
I didn't win at slots but there but thats gambling
If you like Four Seasons then you'll love this hotel.

We stayed here for two days. The room was spacious and nice. The room had a very large tub with separate shower. The casino was sub-par. The casino is smoke filled with no ventilation. The hotel was smoke free but the smoke makes its way into the hotel regardless. The buffet was bad, just low quality food and lots of it. The dinner buffet was $14. They have a food court with various options. The steakhouse is overpriced. The average steak was $40-50 with out sides.

I like coming here for the Friday Crab Feed.  If I am here, it's a FRIDAY.

This place need better air ventilation, second hand smoke kills and you could totally smell it.

The vibe here is great, people are friendly and the bartender reminders me.

I don't like gambling here because it too expensive for me, I never seen a lower minimum buy in than $25.

O yeah and FAT BURGER is a must try.

My brother decided to have his birthday party here. He said he reserve a suite, and when he got there around 3pm, he said there no more suites. They gave him a regular room instead. I would have gave them some grief about it, especially when he reserve it. It wasn't like he showed up at 2am and ask for his room. He showed up at 3pm when checkin to most hotels are between 2pm-4pm. Also we couldn't go up to the hotel rooms unless you have a key card.
The casino is close to Sacramento, so it wasn't that bad of a drive. Lots of parking especially after they built the parking structure.
The casino itself, been crowded even with the expansion. They have this bar/lounge area in the middle of the casino. It have lots of seating and you can order any drink you want in there. With good music and girls dancing by the water walls, the boys can't help it but look.
We usually come to Thunder for the Friday crab feeds. If you come early 5-6pm, the lines are too bad. If not, you might have to wait for 1-2hrs before getting seated. The crab feed are great for the price $26. While waiting in line, one person usually keep our spot and our friends take turns going to play on the slot machine near by.

This is a very difficult casino to win money off the slot machines.  It does not matter if you are playing the penny slot or $5 slot.  It was a good thing I didn't bring lots of cash.  I had to save some room cleaning tip money for the hotel housekeeper.  I don't think I will gamble here in the future.  Thunder Valley Casinos got me good this time.

casino is nice, well kept since it's still kinda new. I lost $15 in less than 15 mins, but I'm sure other people are luckier. Free sodas and coffee in the middle. Paper credit, like vegas! Tons of restaurants and to go places and there's a spa too!

Arrived here for a going away party for a friend.  We had a buffet and then went to the lounge.

The lounge had these modern lounging sofas and chairs.  The waitresses were prompt in delivering the Mohitos I ordered.  You need to give these waitresses good tips because they do earn their living by part of the tips.  Important you do TIP right.

But I tried the regular Mohito and the Raspberry Mohito.  By preference, I would have to say that I like the regular Mohito instead.  It was a good night.  I had a good time.

Another casino which means more money lost. I like this casino because it reminds me of Las Vegas casino and it's big, however, it is really hard to win here. Go here for the experience, but don't expect to win.

Good summer concert venue, the cleanest and nicest a/c portable toilets ever!
    Dwight Yoakum was great!

    Chris Botti coming soon!

TIP: After the concert, stay at the casino hotel and eat in the restaurants, rather than try and find a place to sleep or eat in nearby Lincoln or Roseville after 10 pm. WARNING: SMOKING IS PERMITED ALMOST EVERYWHERE in the hotel and casino.

High Steaks in Thunder Valley Casino
What used to be the Austin Steakhouse is now High Steaks.  The menu is larger and more diverse.  The steak and prime rib are great.  Steaks should be grilled on high heat, juicy, tender, properly seasoned and cooked to order.  That's exactly how it arrived.  I had the ribeye with the ribeye sauce made with butter, garlic, cilantro and drippings.   Starters and side dishes are large portions and to be shared.  They were ok, not as good as the Steak but so what.  I highly recommend it.  I star short of five because of all the other stuff was just ok.

I like this place very much. I come here and I think I am in Vegas. I am so happy my friend bring me here. I like so many slot machines and tables. I can play blackjack and have waitress bring me free drinks.

When Thunder Valley first opened up it seemed like everyone was winning every time we went. Now not so much. Maybe they have reset all the machines. (I hear they are set to win more during the week)
I wouldn't recommend going on any Holiday because it can be really packed in there with all the bus loads of people from out of town.
I used to love the buffet but now the lines so long and the prices have gone up. The other restaurants are all really nice and there and no tax on your meal and even though it makes it harder to figure out the tip it saves you a little.

I Love coming to this Casino. I've won and I've lost which i think is pretty standard for gambling. Their buffett is really good! Great Selection. My mom and I always go here when I come to visit. One thing I can say is I have better luck on the machines then the tables! Never go to the Lady dealers! They always take my money! Anyways, yes I love this place, im actually going on Friday!!! Wish me LUCK!!!!

Below average. Everything looks okay, but the food is horribly underseasoned and overcooked. They make the food nice and mushy for al the senior citizens who eat here. There were just a few vegetarian options, but I mostly just ate desserts (which were decent) and mac 'n' cheese. For this price) $16) I'd rather eat at that new Chinese buffet near the nugget in Rocklin (not really though, i'm boycotting buffets).

This place is surreal.  They want to keep the atmosphere "up" and so, music is bumping all the way out to the parking lot.  I was instantly transported back to the jr. high days of wandering around Great America where all of the faux rocks in the park are actually speakers.  Inside the casino is a beehive of activity, light and sound; there are bright and sparkling lights, a constant hum of conversation, bing! bing! bing!'ing of slot machine action, and enough billowing smoke to make even Snoop Dogg proud .

If you sign up for for the Thunder Valley club, they will give you a free $5 dollar playing card AND a mug.  That night I got to play 25 cent machine poker for hours (on their tab), enjoy a refreshing beverage or two, and actually ended up earning an extra $2.50.  Look at me, I'm a winner!  Ah, to the victor goes the spoils.

My spoils were: $7.50 total winnings, a mug, and the smell of cigarettes on my hair that lingered for two days thereafter.

I don't really gamble. The reason I go to Vegas is to hit the buffets and to act a fool outside my area code.

So I wouldn't go to a casino in the middle of nowhere on the regular for sh*ts-and-giggles. However, a certain parental unit loooooooooves to play the slots. So, being a sport, I go along with said parental unit.

We usually spend several hours there and since I don't gamble, what's a dutiful son to do?

I drink at the Thunder Bar. Their drinks are super-cheap.

I watch the Kings games (boooo!).

And I flirt with the cute, scantily-clad waitresses.

Good times? It's usually just okay. But my patience is sometimes rewarded when said parental unit wins and I get some ducats broken off to me.

Came to thunder valley on 7/7/07.  It was crowded.  They have a no smoking area which is nice.  The rest of the casino is smoking.  One buffet area and one upper scale chinese restaurant called Koi palace.  Close to the Roseville galleria.
