Decided to try Tijuana Flats tonight with my girlfriend, we were in the Mexican mood.  It's definitely a Mexican-American restaurant, you'll see if you check out the menu.  On the table we found a bio of how the restaurant got started, which was a pretty cool story.  As soon as we walked in we were greeted warmly by one of the employees at the register.  At Tijuana Flats you walk up to the counter to order, and the food is brought out to you.  We started with their chips and salsa, and it was a surprisingly good salsa.  A lot of places put way too much cilantro in their salsa to the point where it's all you can taste.  But on to our entrees.  I decided to get the large steak chimichanga, I can't for the life of me remember what they called their large, but it was a clever name.  My girlfriend ordered the medium chicken chimichanga and we both decided to top it with queso.  The steak is lime marinated, and while it was a bit rough, tasted very good.  I feel like it may have been a shoulder tenderloin cut, which is a tough cut of meat.  I did sample my girlfriend's chicken chimichanga, which was good as well but I would still recommend the steak.  The queso was nice and warm, and had exceptional flavor.  We both had a pleasant first experience and will definitely return  in the future!
Review Source:Dos tacos with chicken and "slap my ass and call me Sally" habanero hot sauce!!
I'm not even sure a review is necessary here. Â I've read all of the comments and I just have to say, put on your big boy pants or big girl panties, and eat some tacos. Â The sauces are awesome, it's a very relaxed and comfortable atmosphere, and the staff (in Fishers) is top notch.
I have visited Tijuana Flats several times and have always had a great experience. Â The restaurant itself has always been clean, and seemingly well-maintained. Â Their staff is knowledgeable and energetic. Â And, most importantly - their 'Insane Chicken Nachos' live up to the name; especially when accentuated with something interesting from their hot sauce bar. Â
I am also a big fan of their sweet tea. Â I am unsure if this is a custom brew, or a quality mass-produced syrup, but it hits hits the spot. Â Every time.
If you are looking for a super-modern, Tex Mex restaurant: this is your place!
