Toast

"I love toast! Every meal I've had has been amazing and it's close to my home - consistent food made with love! Breakfast lunch or dinner - all great all of the time! Last night I had lamb shank with polenta and a spinach salad and it was perfect! Hope my review makes it and isn't filtered!

The ambiance and feel of the place is great, and I love that I didn't have to wait at all to have brunch with a friend on a Sunday morning around 10:30.  Our server was very friendly and knowledgeable; however, the portions and quality/taste of the food was disappointing, for the price I paid.  (I ordered the veggie hash with a poached egg on top.)  Nice presentation, but nothing special.

Wellll....I wanted to LOVE this place because of the way they use local products and air on the side of Organic and fresh and good... (Here's my BUT) Buuut....the food looks a lot better than it tastes. I will say that the bread, scones and, you know "toast" are of course, amazing. But the recipes in general lack flavor and balance. Really nice presentations and adorable little scones served when you are seated...also, the waitstaff is really nice and professional. Really, the lack of 2 stars is all about the flavors. The food is described in a really interesting way, yet, it is a little bit of a let down when you bite in. I have been twice and had the same experience both times...as it is not actually "bad" though, I will probably go back because of the proximity to my business. If they work on the recipes, I will definitely up my review.
