Tonic is just a standard nightclub. Nothing over the top or fancy about it, but regardless it is a ton of fun. The staff is a lot of fun, and on Sundays they have 3 floors open, and all 3 floors are different. The top floor is kind of ghetto and sketchy, so im not comfortable up there, but the other 2 floors are a lot of fun. The dance floor is always packed and there is a lounge area where you can just hang out. The drinks are kind of expensive but standard pricing for a nightclub. My only suggestion would be to re-model the bathrooms. They are disgusting and I feel dirty every time I am in one of them. Overall, its a fun club to go to.

It is pretty much a bar with a dance floor and there is a 'lounge' area to sit and get away from people. The couches look dirty and trashy like they were stolen from a motel or a abandoned house. Top 40 music is played probably from the 'DJs' iPod and a little cable hooked up to the speakers. The crowd is pretty music idiot high school kids and early 20 somethings who do not know a good club. DO NOT GO AND SAVE YOUR SELF.

I've been here quite a few times over the years and I feel its about time I reviewed this place.
The club is relatively small. It has a dance floor/lounge area. The dance floor is pretty small when compared to Tiki Bob's next door, however, the lounger is spacious and offers a decent spot to chill when you need to get away from the loud music of the dance floor.
The is also a lower lever which is just GHETTO. I think they just hook up a iPod and click "shuffle songs" and call it a night down here.
The crowd here is usually late teens/very early 20s. I however tend to see way too many guys there who just stand around and stare stare stare at the women and the women think they're too cool to let loose and have fun with the guys.
Overall, I haven't had too many positive experiences here but its worth checking out once.
ps: the toilets are just what you would expect at most clubs: dirty.
Last weekend a friend wanted to celebrate his birthday with dancing and general craziness, and for some reason he picked Tonic. The night ended up being really fun, but that may have just been because I was with a large group of fun people ;)
Tonic is basically just dance floor and bar, there is sort of a "lounge" area, but it is less than inviting (skuzzy looking couches, bright lighting) Â The bathrooms are in the basement and were pretty standard club bathrooms - i.e. not that clean or well taken care of. Â I'm not sure if it is every night, but the night I was there it was 18 and over. Â The crowd did seem to be mostly those 18 years old to maybe mid 20's, and mostly there to dance, drink and grind on strangers on the dance floor. Â It was fairly empty when we got there (10ish) but by 11 it was packed, and stayed that way till we left. Â Overall, not a swanky or fancy place, and nothing really special about it, but if all you want to do is dance, have some drinks and be crazy with your friends, it isn't all that bad.
This place is flat out ghetto. This is in Pontiac, where you pay to park across the street and feel like you have to be strapped at all times. Seriously, when you're in this place, you're waiting to hear a bang! I came here with a group, because the 3 of them actually know the DJ, the emcee, the bartender, etc and to see Nate Kane perform. Let's just say I will never return. It was lame. The waitresses are in panties/lingerie [a plus for the guys!]... if you like the white trash kind of chicks! And the girls in the club, no matter their size, are on the speakers, shaking -everything- their mama gave them. My viewing experience was not pretty, and let's just leave it at that.
If there was an option to leave 0 stars, this would definitely be a winner. Stay away from this dump.
I feel like a sell-out giving a place like Tonic four stars, especially since I'd really like to give it one. Â The problem is I have some great memories here with some really good friends. Â There is nothing extraordinary about this place. Â It's big, you go dancing, you drink. Â You play drinking games. Â You flirt with the bartender.
I went here twice with an old crew I used to roll with. Â We came here and danced and drank and had fun. Â Simple as that. Â Sure I can hate on the current scene, but the truth is, I used to be part of it. Â This was a decent place to make some embarrassing memories.
