Love their craft beer selections and menu. So many choices of beer that it takes awhile to go through the list. Food is also good. Â I ordered a chicken dish but it came out undercooked. Â Told the waitress that my chicken was a bit raw. Â Waitress apologized took back the dish and prepared a new one for me. The manager personally brought my new dish and made sure that the chicken was cooked through. Â I call that 'professional' service. Â I am now a regular.
Review Source:I am conflicted with this place...
As a beer bar, 4 stars. TONS of beers on tap and in the bottle. The menus are well designed and organized; it's easy to see what they've got, and how much it is. The beer was fresh and the glassware was clean and well rinsed. The variety of brewers and styles was quite nice too. Not just the usual suspects here. The Weihenstephaner Fresh Hops 2013 vintage was on tap during this visit and it was fantastic; I've never seen that beer on tap or in bottles before or since.
I'd take points off because the server lacked any real beer knowledge (which seems to be a huge problem at beer bars. Why is that? Wine bars don't tend to have this problem, do they?). Also, marks down for the atmosphere. I know you can't really control who patronizes your establishment, but on this particular visit, it was quite douchey... So I'll say points off for having a life size Jenga game in the middle of your dining floor. It's not necessary and it's too damn loud!
As a restaurant, 3 stars. I admit that I had a hard time picking out what I wanted, but I ended up with an extremely greasy sandwich and shoestring french fries. If you've read my previous reviews, I'm a big advocate of hand cut fries. Something as simple, cheap and easy as the potato gets under looked at most establishments, and settling for pre-packed frozen potato slivers is a travesty! The wife had the meatballs, and they were actually quite good... I don't recall which sandwich I had, but I think it fell into a Valdez sized oil slick and it had to be drained off before I could really enjoy it... so next time, no sandwich for this guy.
Our server was nice enough, but again, not knowledgeable. The food was a little disappointing, but not to the point to deter me from visiting again. I'd like to come back soon after hitting the paint creek trail and enjoy some great beer, and (hopefully) some great food.
