The Hills Bar and Grille

I have eaten at the Hills Bar and Grill since it opened.  I have always had pretty good service and pretty good food.  I took my kids last night for KIDS night - they have $2 kids meals- So I figure I might as well and save a few dollars.  Food was fine.  My children ordered drinks and then asked for refills before their food came.  

I have a copy of the children's menu and nowhere on the menu does it list drinks or drink prices or state that the drink is not included in the kids meal like all other restaurants.  I get my bill and I found out that I have paid $12 for my children's drinks!  I ask my waiter about that and he states that his manager "is a stickler" for that!  I used to waitress for years, so I know the business.  The waiter could have let us know that it wasn't free refills like all other restaurants.  $3 a drink for a kid is very expensive $12 for their drinks is even worse!

I know the Hills is trying to make up the money they offer from the $2 kids meal night.  I could have had 2 alcoholic drinks for that price and I wanted to after I saw the bill.

I am a Hills Reward Member and after that experience I will NEVER come back!  For families that are trying to save money and go out expecting they will be able to do something special with the kids and not spend a lot of money.... This is not the place. Go to a different restaurant that will have a much better and more fun for the kids!

I enjoy the Hills. I live the atmosphere and you can't beat the half off bottles of wine on Tuesday nights. Their food is above average. My only complaint is that I do not enjoy the hills on weekend nights when they have live music. The very tall unfinished ceilings make it impossible to hear anything and the acoustics of the room do not do the band any favors when it comes to sound. I will continue to go back for my weekday girl nights for wine a yummy appetizers.

A new friend wanted to take me out for lunch & this is his regular spot.

Loved the  building layout & interior, it is  a cool place with a sweet vibe.

Although  I did not ever catch our servers name, she was always there & ready with a refill  &  a constant smile.

My pal highly recommended the  Highlander
Wild mushrooms, apple wood bacon, American and Swiss cheese.
And it came with a side of fries, that were cooked  perfectly      $12.00

The burger  arrived fairly soon after ordering it, and it was very VERY Moist, tender & loaded with flavor, and the bun  was unique, had  flavor & a light crunch .

I must  give a positive shout out to the fresh brewed iced tea. as some places it is just NOT good, but here it was perfect lemony blend, with plenty of refills & a go cup for my departure.

I can honestly say , I do not understand why it does not get barely any YELP LOVE ?
